  • Keeper Password Manager & Digital Vault 8 combines password management and secure file sharing in one easy-to-use package, and it runs on just about any device you can imagine.

  • Overall, Keeper is one of the simplest password managers I’ve ever seen. If you do not use one of these apps today, it represents a great starting point: it takes security seriously, it can be set up in under five minutes, and takes even less time to master.

I don’t usually judge software by its cost, but the app is a much harder proposition if you want to take advantage of its more advanced functionality, like syncing. If you want to use your data across, say, an iPad, an iPhone, and a Mac, you’re out $30 per year—and, at that price, you can find apps that, like OneSafe and 1Password, offer a greater array of functionality, although they often support fewer platforms.

  • Keeper covers the basics in password management, but it's not as cheap or as easy to use as it should be.

    Pros:

    Lets you share passwords.

    Cons:

    Can get expensive.
    Requires too many clicks.

For those users who care about the storing sensitive data in the cloud, Keeper offers a good compromise between convenience and security. Among the many software features is a direct sync of information between devices via Wi-Fi, bypassing the remote server. However, the free version of the service supports only local storage of passwords (e.g. no cloud sync and no Wi-Fi sync). Keeper has good support for a variety of devices. The desktop client is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac. Here is also the extension for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, mobile apps for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Kindle and Nook tablets. Also, the service can be used through a web interface. With browser extension, you can automatically fill forms on web pages. Password generation tool is also included. To enhance the security while using Keeper you can manually define the duration of the session. Upon completion of the selected time period (default is 30 minutes), Keeper asks for the service authorization password. Another feature that can be useful for protecting the account is the two-factor authentication. Every time you log in Keeper may not only require to enter a password, but also sends SMS to the user specified mobile phone number. You get the code in it, enter it and then log in. Keeper is not able to automatically import data from browsers. But it supports importing from CSV files or other formats where commas or tabs are used as delimiters. And the data that is saved in the Keeper can be exported to PDF and text file.

    Pros :

      • Great support of desktop and mobile platforms Round-the-clock live chat support Syncing over Wi-Fi Convenient storage for any types of confidential data (business cards, software keys, etc.).

    Cons :

    • No data import from browsers No data import from another password managers If you are a free user Keeper will send to your inbox hundreds of offers to buy the premium plan.
