  • Overall, Kaspersky Total Security is a comprehensive solution for all users who are worried about the numerous web threats one might stumble across - the Safe Money component can help them enter their bank details and make sure they do not get stolen, whereas the Password Manager can come in handy for storing all credentials in a safe place.

  • The price of Kaspersky PURE 3.0 Total Security makes it a competitive product for a full IS suite with all the trimmings and its AV-Test results put it in a very strong position. It's good to see anti-malware and backup apps combined in a wash-and-go product like this, though the interface would benefit from a more equable distribution of its function links.

  • Kaspersky PURE 3.0 Total Security has one of the best AV engines available, and its AV-Test results are exemplary.

In terms of features, it’s an odd mixture, with useful parental controls and a secure banking browser, but there are some gaps here, such as its low online storage allowance and lack of PC tune-up facilities. It’s also strictly single platform, although Mac and Android packages are available separately

  • Despite a couple of minor niggles, such as the relative importance given to text on the main control screen and the apparent inability to combine backup categories, it scores well with AV-Test and does its job in a sensible and robust way.

  • Overall, the Kaspersky PURE 3.0 Total Security software is a real home run in my book. I found it to be easy to use, affordable, and features a bundle of advanced features that you won't find in any of its competitors. If you are looking to add a serious layer of security against potential viruses, fraud, hackers, or other malicious threats then I don't see a better option in terms of total value per dollar than the Kaspersky PURE 3.0 software. I highly suggest this software to any potential consumers and if you wish to put this software to the test for yourself, they are offering a free 30 day trial for new users to take advantage of.

  • Kaspersky PURE 3.0 Total Security includes every security component you can imagine, most of them very good. Some might even prefer it to Norton 360, our current Editors' Choice for mega-suite.

    Pros:

-Installed on infested test systems with help from ancillary tools, tech-support advice.
-Very good scores from independent antivirus labs.
    -Near-best antiphishing. Intelligent firewall.
    -Password manager syncs across devices.
    -Full-powered parental control.
-Remote management of other Kaspersky installations.
    -Can back up to Dropbox.
    -File encryption and shredding.
    -Privacy scan. Useless file scan.
    -Vulnerability scan.
    -Safe Money online transaction protection.

    Cons:

-Good, not great, scores in PCMag antivirus tests.
    -Spam filter slowed mail downloading.
    -Backed-up files not encrypted.

  • Kaspersky’s protection is a strong offering across the board, with a more informative control panel than most, but one that provides easy configuration options. It’s a little more power for only small amount extra, but you won’t be disappointed with the other editions if you don’t need the extras.

  • Kaspersky Pure crams in a good range of functions, and it isn't a dreadful resource hog. Installing it on our test system added 12 seconds of post-boot CPU activity compared to a clean Windows installation, but its overall RAM footprint of 663MB was the lowest of this month's three packages. When it comes to security, though, it remains a silver-medallist, and while there are some useful features the price feels high, especially without an online backup service.

  • Overall, the powerful PC protection here doesn't come cheap, but Kaspersky PURE provides more than enough interesting features to justify its price.
