Cloudswave Editorial Review
Shopify Review by Cloudswave
If your company lacks an eCommerce solution or you’re simply not impressed with its current version, you need to make it a priority to find something new. The good news is that there are more eCommerce platforms today than ever before, representing countless options for your company to take advantage of.
Unfortunately, this could mean you have a lot of work ahead of you in terms of finding the right one. Make a mistake here and you’ll be back to square one with less money to show for it.
Start your search with Shopify, though, and chances are you won’t feel the need to look much further. It’s one of the most popular eCommerce platforms in the world for good reason.
Let’s look at some of its more prominent features now. Read all the way through, too, so you can learn about a great Shopify deal Cloudswave is currently offering.
A True Turnkey Solution
One really great thing about Shopify, as you’re about to see in detail, is that it offers a complete turnkey solution. You don’t have to worry that, after paying for Shopify, you now need to go out and find eight other platforms to complete the package.
While some companies may decide to invest in complementary software, this is by no means mandatory. Plenty of businesses use only Shopify for their eCommerce needs and see incredible results.
All you have to do is bring the actual products and services, the business knowledge and content to the table. Shopify can basically do everything else.
Speed and Security Included
Right off the bat, let’s look at two features that help Shopify stand out from other turnkey options in the market: speed and security.
Now, many of you may think this isn’t something you should have to pay for.
After all, don’t you already get charged by your hosting company for these things?
Yes, you most likely do.
However, it’s unlikely that either is as good as it could be, which is where Shopify can help.
Did you know that many studies have shown that visitors to your site who have to wait more than four seconds for a page to load will most likely leave?
Obviously, that means a lot of them are leaving after three seconds. Every tenth of a second matters in the world of eCommerce, which is why you should put Shopify to work in this department.
On top of that, your eCommerce site needs to do things a lot of other sites don’t, like process credit cards. That can slow down your site more than you would ever want if for no other reason than you have to make sure this information is handled in a secure manner. Should even one person get their data compromised, you can expect that your business is going to take a huge hit. Some companies never actually recover from that kind of an event. If your site is found to be out of compliance with PCI standards, it won’t actually take a hacker to ruin your business.
Some organizations make the mistake of thinking that third-party vendors are the way to go. Make no mistake about it, vendors like PayPal and Google Wallet didn’t achieve their reputation without being great at processing payments. However, you can do a lot better. With Shopify, you have true pros dedicated to this side of your business. They’ll take care of compliance, caching, defending against hackers and a whole range of other issues that matter when you have an eCommerce site.
Hopefully, knowing the people at Shopify are handling your security and keeping your site screaming fast is a big relief. That doesn’t mean your site will automatically be a success though. For one thing, you need great products. They won’t be enough, however, if you don’t properly display them for your customers.
Once again, here’s where Shopify won’t disappoint. The platform is tremendous at allowing you to display your products in a number of different ways. You can use high-resolution images to make sure your customers see them crystal-clear at every angle as well.
There also won’t be any issues with altering your inventory. Whether you want to take an item off the store, add a new one to your inventory, change the price, change the picture, alter the description or just about anything else, this platform has you covered. No matter what market you’re targeting, it probably moves too fast to put up with any unnecessary delays. It’s important you can react quickly whenever necessary.
Tremendous Customer Support
Another area where Shopify really shines is customer support. It can’t be said enough that this is very user-friendly software. Still, it’s best to anticipate that you’ll probably have issues at some point. When this happens, you want to know that helpful people are just a phone call away. That’s exactly what you’ll get with Shopify.
In fact, the customer service provided by Shopify is why more and more people are switching from pairing WordPress with an eCommerce solution and just going with this turnkey option. This should be especially attractive to those of you who are running a small business. You most likely don’t have an IT team to turn to when something goes wrong. Furthermore, being a small business means you most likely can’t afford a problem that shuts down your revenue stream for even a day.
For any non-emergency issues, the platform comes with a FAQ section that will probably contain most of the answers you want. There’s also email and a chat component for questions that aren’t urgent.
Whether you need help running your store or you’re a web developer who needs someone to point them in the right direction, you’ll find that Shopify’s reputation for amazing customer support is well deserved. Even if everything else the company offered was just average, the service factor would justify your subscription.
It should go without saying that your eCommerce site needs to have some great marketing regardless of what you sell. If you’re in a saturated market, you have a number of competitors trying to take your business. If you’re in a niche market, you can’t afford to lose a single customer.
Luckily, another area where Shopify really does a great job is online marketing. It will become abundantly clear that the people behind Shopify’s marketing tools actually have real world experience. In fact, a lot of people have signed up for Shopify simply to get their hands on the toolbox they offer.
Besides the ones you’ll get with the main package, the company also has a number of other ones on the App Marketplace. This is great because it means you’ll get some amazing resources for drawing attention no matter what. However, if you feel it would be worth it to spend a bit more for a specific goal, there are other assets out there.
To be clear, the basics offered by Shopify will be more than enough to put your site on the map. They didn’t treat these basic tools like throwaways they had to include. Instead, each and everyone is obviously the product of a lot of care and hard work.
One marketing component that has set Shopify apart and also contributed to much of its popularity is the ability it gives you to create effortless landing pages. Those of you who only have one product to offer or don’t have the resources to support a website with multiple pages should really look into landing pages. If you like the idea, you’ll love what Shopify can do with them.
For things like email marketing and AdWords, Shopify has you covered as well. You’ll have a number of options for customizing either campaign and adjusting as necessary going forward.
Search Engine Optimization
SEO is a type of marketing, but it deserves its own section here. That’s because the team behind Shopify has done a real service for its customers by handling their sites’ SEO code for them. Their code is crawlable and clean. Once again, this is a huge benefit for those medium- and small-businesses that probably don’t have their own coder on staff. Outsourcing this job can be expensive and risky. Not doing it correctly can be the same.
There’s still plenty of room for custom input though. From meta descriptions to title tags, the platform allows you spaces to make sure that the SEO code is giving search engines unique descriptions of your site.
This software will even help with your copy by checking for duplicate content, something no search engine will reward you for. Other essential functions like Sitemaps and webmaster tools are covered too.
No one wants their eCommerce website to look like it came off the shelf. Cookie-cutter solutions usually mean cookie-cutter results which render your website virtually useless if competitors are doing the exact same thing as you are.
This is one reason so many people have flocked to WordPress. It offers endless possibilities as far as design goes (though it lacks in other areas). You have to give Shopify’s team credit for not dropping the ball here. With all their other amazing features, they could have easily produced a lackluster design element and probably have gotten away with it. Instead, they knocked it out of the park.
Out of the box, Shopify has some great designs you could implement immediately. That being said, you can also improve on any design available without having to put in hours of painstaking work.
As soon as you purchase your package, you’ll have a number of different themes to choose from for free. If you don’t see anything you like, check their marketplace for even more options.
Some of you may still not be happy with what you find. Your business may be especially unique or it might be that you have a very specific idea in your head you’d love to see online. In that case, you’ll be glad to know that all of these Shopify themes can be customized by a designer or developer to create a 100% original shop.
Speaking of the ability to customize your site, Shopify has a library full of add-ons for this purpose. Obviously, no platform could ever accommodate every single feature a store owner could possibly want. This is why, just like Apple, Android and Facebook, Shopify has its very own app store.
Developers all over the world are constantly working on new apps to offer customers like you. There are whole communities of developers based on this product alone. Shopify has provided the world with its platform and core functionality, allowing these developers to do the rest.
While you’ll definitely need to pay for many of them, there are plenty of free apps too (MailChimp’s The Chimpfield app is a great example of a free option that is absolutely amazing).
With so many apps already available, you probably won’t need the help of a developer to build the features you want for your store. Just go to the app store and there will most likely be one waiting for you.
SocialGO Review by Cloudswave
Social media is too powerful a tool for any business owner to ignore. However, this is especially true for us small business owners who need every advantage we can get our hands on. Instead of just using social media platforms, though, I wanted to find a way to optimize my efforts. Not only did I find a powerful tool for the job, I discovered that SocialGO could allow me a unique opportunity to create a powerful network in my market.
An Affordable Solution
Just like almost every small business owner out there, I don’t have money to throw at every problem I have. This was the first software of its type I had ever used, and it made me even more cautious about investing my precious budget in SocialGO. The last thing I wanted to hear was that I’d need to spend hundreds a month on something that might not even work.
Fortunately, this wasn’t the case. Instead, what I found was that SocialGO comes in a number of different packages, all of which are priced affordably. Both their Classic and Pro versions start at $9.99 a month. The end price will be based on what features you decide to add. This was another nice surprise, though, as I knew that my goals for social media marketing would be different from other companies, even those within the small business world.
Anyone who just wants a streamlined solution and a quick launch should probably go with Classic, whereas Pro will provide you with a much more detailed final result. However, you can get plenty of guidance before making this final decision.
Finally, another nice piece of news about this platform’s affordability is that you get two weeks to try it out for free before making a final decision. Before you even go with the free trial, you can do an easy comparison on their website if you want, making it that much easier to make the right decision about the social platform you go with.
Another reason I focused on SocialGO early on in my search for a social networking CMS platform is because I knew so many other people were already using it and were happy with the results. SocialGO was started back in 2007 and, since then, over 400,000 websites have been made with this software. It’s hard to argue that a company like this isn’t doing something right with those kinds of numbers.
The other thing I like about their long list of customers is that it proves SocialGO is for just about any company out there. No matter the industry you’re in, these days, you need to be out there making the most of social networks. Yes, even those of us on the B2B side of things. No matter what you sell or the service you provide, SocialGO will help you make the most of social media platforms.
With updates coming out regularly, I imagine SocialGO will soon have 500,000 websites to its name and far more by the time it hits its 10-year anniversary as a company.
Every Platform Support
Alright, to be honest, I don’t know if SocialGO actually supports every platform out there. What I do know is that it definitely supports all the major ones and any that I use. This includes all the big names like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Vine and Flickr. There are a lot of software titles out there I looked into because of recommendations I received or simply from name recognition. With a lot of them, though, I was shocked to find out that they only supported one social media site. For example, there would be a title I kept hearing about only to find that it only worked on Facebook or Twitter. What’s the point? I want to hit as many sites as possible and don’t need to bleed my budget in order to do it thanks to SocialGO.
One Very Unique Application
Here’s where things get interesting though. I assume like most of you, I was looking for software because I wanted to get a real presence going on social media. My hope was that I could build a strong network of my own and then take advantage of having these strong connections with people in my market, including customers, obviously.
When I came across SocialGO, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could do more than just network with others. This platform actually allowed me to basically build my own social media site. You can use those that already exist to do this as well or simply create one from scratch. Either way, the solution is one of the most unique I’ve ever seen.
As marketing is the whole reason I began looking into this software in the first place, another deal-maker for me was the fact that SocialGO offered so much help in this department. Aside from handling the creation of my own social media site, the company’s staff also designed the logo, created a unique theme that looks amazing, recruited members for me and went so far as to get me started with monetization. The plan I chose comes with a three-year redesign component too, which is something I’m extremely excited about.
The fact that they helped me monetize with a membership program has basically helped this software pay for itself. While it was already plenty affordable—even on my small business budget—it’s always nice to find a new source of revenue you never really planned on.
All the Support I Needed
It’s probably clear by now that SocialGO isn’t lacking for employees that love to help. What’s really great, though, is all the ways they can offer help. Obviously, you can simply call them up and speak with someone when you’re having a problem. However, if you prefer, you can talk to their staff through instant messaging too. Then there’s the blog and forum too, both of which provide plenty in the way of helpful tips and more.
To conclude my review, I want to reemphasize that I heartily recommend this platform to everyone who wants to get more exposure for their company from the right sources within their market.

A Shopify store is going to be aesthetically very pleasing, rich with relevant features, and best of all, amazingly easy to create. Shopify is hands-down the most user-friendly premium ecommerce platform, but is not ideal for large businesses with massive inventories. Shopify offers an aesthetically beautiful and extremely easy to use experience for small-medium size businesses.

SocialGO offers a pretty comprehensive social network building solution, dividing their services into both the Classic and Pro platforms. Both platforms have their advantages, with one being suited to a quick, streamlined launch, whilst the other enables you to take a more detailed and executive approach to building your social network or online community.
