Besides, why on earth would someone want to end up paying more, in terms of the actual monetary cost and total cost of ownership, for OnSite, when Retail does the job as well and with more ease? But that’s a question for Lightspeed to figure out. The good news for them is they’ve got two of the most robust and easy-to-use solutions in today’s POS market. Both OnSite and Retail are highly recommended.

Lightspeed POS is really a best Point of Sale for Restaurant, Pubs, Bars,CoffeeShops and Retail stores. Its cool inventory management, mechandise system, customer support module are incredible. I loved LightSpeed for iPhone. Thanks to @Radinattechs, My Lightspeed Consultant. I wish to to refer him.
Pros : Integration with Magento and QuickBooks. Backup data simple
Cons : Renaming backup and cost for server is little high but worth productivity.
For anyone interested in a robust and intuitive POS system, LightSpeed is the only one I would recommend.
It was the best decision I've made since opening my business.

So I take my hat off to the developers for designing such a great product and I do hope it catches on in retail stores across the globe soon. It is certainly an experimental step but one that doesn’t ostracise the businesses who don’t want to have to resort to Macs just to run their POS systems. To quote Dax Dasilva, LightSpeed’s CEO, in a recent interview with TechCrunch: "We want to be able to say yes to everybody.", Fortunautely, Dax, I think you already are.
Mike Wittenstein, on Retail Customer Experience
By focusing on ease of use across platforms, LightSpeed has succeeded in improving the retailer experience. Their clients are delivering better customer experiences as a result.

LightSpeed is one of the best POS solutions we have seen for retail. It has comprehensive inventory tools and advanced reporting options to help you manage inventory and sales. LightSpeed also allows you to choose from a few credit card processors rather than locking you into one of their choice.
From Point Of Sale expert
There aren't many better retail-specific POS systems than LightSpeed, but the question you need to ask yourself is whether the industry specialized features are worth the extra money you spend on another system that could also do a good job in the retail environment.
To conclude, LightSpeed should definitely be a consideration if you operate a retail store and you're looking for a POS system, but bare in mind that there are other systems out there for much less money.
From Trusted POS
Overall, Lightspeed provides a good solution to the POS industry, in that its system offers both desktop and mobile accessibility. The Cloud and Pro POS platforms offer essentially the same functionality, however the Pro is server-based, while the Cloud is of course cloud-based. If you’re in an area with poor internet connection, or without internet connection in general, then the Pro would be a wise solution.
