What is Infusionsoft?

Founded in 2001, Infusionsoft is an online service that offers email marketing platform for small businesses with 25 employees or less. The history of the product began from the writing of a script to automate sales leads. This script laid down the basis for the modern service.
Today Infusionsoft offers marketing automation tools, marketing reports, built-in metadata and fields for keywords, drag and drop functionality for editing and publishing landing pages, the web forms, calculation tools, referral program management, sales reports and more. Infusionsoft customers can get professional tools that help to improve the work efficiency, to eliminate redundant work, to apply e-commerce instruments.

Infusionsoft does not provide free or trial version. Actually it is not possible to see the platform interface anywhere on the official site until you buy the product. But there is good news: you can find a lot of great Infusionsoft tutorials on YouTube and see this SaaS product in action.
Infusionsoft platform is much like online tools for the project management. There are five basic categories: CRM, Marketing, E-Commerce, Admin, and Tools. Each category includes several sections for quick and clear navigation. For example, there are Contacts, Companies, Opportunities, Referral Partners and Visitors sections in the CRM category. Every category has its own reports and settings. Besides, there is My Nav category that can be filled with frequently used tools. It is possible to choose what tools will be shown here. It will save an incredible amount of time as you navigate around in the software.

There are also some other tricks to make navigation easier. For example, there is integrated search tool through all items, the list of recently viewed items and also favorites list.The Dashboard is one more great way to customize the Infusionsoft experience. Infusionsoft is a CRM (customer relationship management) system, so it is aimed to the learning and understanding the needs of existing and potential customers. So working with contacts is one of the most essential parts of the platform.

There is no need to enter all info about people by hand because there are tools for automatic importing such information into Infusionsoft. Besides, the user has the opportunity to check for duplicate contact records and to merge them if needed. The contacts may be grouped and tagged. This makes sending targeted marketing messages easier.

eCommerce tools

One of the best features of Infusionsoft platform is that you can sell your products, services or subscriptions online right from here. The setup of products and/or services that you plan to sell online using your Infusionsoft application is pretty simple. Shopping cart and order form can be flexibly configured, and it is easy to embed them on the website. There are a lot of payment types available (PayPal and major credit cards are among them) and you can choose all or just some of them. Infusionsoft automatically sends notification to buyers if they use expired cards or have problems with failed charges and overdue balances.
The Infusionsoft modules tightly connected, so if the customer made a purchase from your site, his order history is stored in the contact’s profile. Then you may use this info to send special offers or thanks emails only to selected customers. The promotions can be segmented by any criterion: purchase history, locations, date, events, holidays etc.
There is an integrated referral program which may help in word-of-mouth marketing acceleration. The user is offered to create custom referral program and provide partners with an access to marketing materials stored within the separate panel. And don’t worry about the commissions, because Infusionsoft always keeps track of them.

Campaign Builder

To make the business grow it is important to create successful campaigns. There is a separate module that is designed to build a marketing and sales process from start to finish. Experienced Infusionsoft users say that Campaign Builder is the heart of this platform. E-mails, tasks, contacts can easily be managed with some other tools (many of them are often better than Infusionsoft ones). However in Campaign Builder all modules can be easily tied together and automated. So understanding how the Campaign Builder works indicates that the user is 90% of the way toward getting a great benefit from Infusionsoft.

The campaign builder has a visual, drag & drop interface. The main item here is called the goal. The goal contains all necessary info about events and actions. The main formula of Campaign Builder is “if there was an event X, it is necessary to automatically perform action Y”. The number of events is unlimited. It can be applied tag, filled form, a purchase made on the website etc. When a goal is triggered by its event, the predefined action automatically starts.

Conclusion

Infusionsoft is not the solution for everyone, but it has a clearly defined target audience. It doesn’t offer different plans for small, medium business and for the big corporations as some other do. Infusionsoft is focused on the small business needs instead. Due to this there is nothing superfluous here; just the tools that every small company needs. E-mail marketing, contacts managing, e-commerce and analysis tools are linked together and work as a whole. But first of all Infusionsoft is the platform for online businesses, so if you sell your products through the Web you will get the greatest benefit from the use of it.

I have been using InfusionSoft for almost 2 years now and compared to all the other comparable systems I have personally used or tried out it is by far the best system available. So much more of a CRM than with many more features it is a very robust system. It includes a fairly easy to set up email drip funnel systems, e-commerce, the ability to apply tags and define lists, creates very intelligent email campaigns and much more. It is not for the faint of heart, but for someone serious about building their business and about marketing. andnbsp; andnbsp;

Pros :

  • All in one system with plenty of integration's available, the nice thing about that is that considering there are so many options currently available online as services that if you are particularly fond of one service or another, then it is most likely you can integrate with the system, most integrations feed directly into.
  • Easy set up process they walk you through all the basics to get you up and running. Customer support is great to work with.andnbsp;
  • Pricing in comparison it's hard to beat when I compared it to the major competitors.
  • Often times you're faced with having a lot of techs people build out a lot of open sources or pay big prices for licensing fees, but in this case, it is a good compromise of time and resources.andnbsp;

Cons :

  • Not for the brand new start-ups without motivation, this is a serious system with a serious investment of time and money for businesses who are looking to stay busy with sales.
  • Not for the pure novice or someone wanting to "try out" a CRM system to learn how CRM's work.andnbsp;
  • I'd recommend a lot of time going through all the guides and even hiring a professional InfusionSoft consultant to come in and work with your business to get the most out of it.
  • If possible go through a consultant team before you buy and ask a lot of questions first, some of them will give you a lot more information in how it can relate to your main business operations and marketing and guide you through the setup process to get you up and running much faster to see results sooner. andnbsp;

First, I thought that Intercom was a way to communicate with your users. Now I'm an Intercom fanatic that believes that Intercom can help SaaS businesses in every stage of the buying cycle. From converting website visitors to retaining users, it can all be achieved with one amazing platform: Intercom!

Pros :

  • The easy way that on-boarding flow can be set up based on every single interaction that a user had or didn't have with your app.

Cons :

  • Not really a con, but I think that Intercom can improve even further by providing more reporting functionalities that a SaaS business has to on.
  • All data reported in their platform, so this can surely be used to build such a reporting engine. That would make Intercom a CRM designed for SaaS businesses.

Salesforce has been a massive help with sales and organization. After working at a few companies that leverage SFDC (some well, some not so well), it's very easy to see how SFDC benefits the team as a whole. Everything from organization, tasks, events, and even communication between the team is seamless. Over the years, I've seen SFDC grow in cases of look and feel, ease of use and flexibility.Some of the apps off the app exchange have been great when needed to add to the customization needed for usage, as well as the ability to grow within the tool seamlessly. The new mobile apps have also made things easier when looking at what it can provide. Salesforce 1 is simple to use, but has some downfalls when it comes to value.

Pros :

  • Being able to organize everything from tasks, opps and even leads.
  • The ability to track every interaction throughout the process, whether it's through lead gen, qualifications, sales or even the close, everything is easy to access and break down.
  • All real-time information. Makes it simple, especially when working with teams that are not "sitting next to you". I've used it to communicate with my team when I'm in the UK and they are in USA and India, so even on different time zones, we were all on the same page.

Cons :

  • Salesforce1 doesn't give much value to the overall ease of getting information into SFDC and being able to pull it out.
  • When I'm on the road, it can be difficult to pull up history, get my notes and figure out what I need to address during a meeting.
  • Some of the "out of the box" abilities are too simple. Not having the ability to mass change Leads to Contacts, or edits without having to download an app from the app exchange gets annoying, especially when you have to customize the system to work alot of the apps.

    It seems that Apptivo cannot realistically address our suppliers issues. There is no way to easily integrate supply products into the system as margins are not automatically calculated etc. The product has loads of potential, but currently, it has serious issues with supply chain management.

    Overall, the tool was just not a fit for a small business with one or two internal marketers/sales people. The software itself is a bit overwhelming and take A LOT of time to work through. When I first started in my current position, I lobbied to have Salesforce brought back as the backbone of our sales and marketing data. We had thousands of contacts just sitting there out of date and not doing us any good. So, we decided to purchase Data Clean as well. It started out alright as I spent hours cleaning up our data. But the more I went along, the more I realized that Clean was pretty much worthless for us. It did not have updated info for our current contacts, and I was never able to find the new lead contact info that I was looking for. It was just not a good fit for our company size and objectives.

    Pros :

    For a large organization, I can see how it would make sense. It is a large-scale tool. My team really only just scratched the surface of how we could use the tool in our day to day activities. There seem to be some functions and tasks to help the hardcore sales person, but there was little offering in the way of training. (Maybe there is training, I just wasn't able to access it or find it). Another benefit, which would have been great if I could get it to work, is the overall integration with any tool out there. Obviously a perk of using one of the largest CRMs available is that other tools typically integrate first with Salesforce before any other tool. If these integrations had worked for me, I'd say it would have been one of the main benefits.

    Cons :

    I must have spent hours reading their help boards and watching videos trying to figure out the most simple tasks. I had a premium LinkedIn account, and it was never able to integrate with Salesforce. When we first bought HubSpot, I tried integrating our Salesforce license to no avail. Same story with Sidekick. This could have been since I wasn't using Salesforce to its full capacity to begin with, but I couldn't even get them to connect period. The support staff was very unhelpful throughout the process as well. Simply shifted the blame to whatever another tool I was trying to connect it with. Also, in order to reactivate our license, we were forced to sign a 3-year contract. This was a decision we regretted after the first 6 months and are now stuck with a license we don't and can't really use.

    What do you like best?A decent tool for Time Tracking, Invoicing, Opportunity management. It essentially seems to be geared toward Professional Services organizations. Especially with features like Time Tracking, Invoicing, etc. I like the fact that these services are integrated and native to the application. What do you dislike?The opportunity management features, reporting, and searching definitely seem to be lacking as compared to Salesforce. The interface is clumsy and difficult to use. The app itself feels incredibly slow.

    What do you like best?The Sales Person follow up with you to close the deal. What do you dislike?Infusionsoft pays $500 referral fees to affiliates. Sales person misleading and false promises at sales stage. They will drag on and not let you cancel the subscription. Recommendations to others considering the productIf you are a SME Look for other product that requires less or no upfront. Infusionsoft uses your upfront cost to pay the affiliates that bring you in. So they entire business economics is not in favour of you. If you need such a BIG product at the first place. If you are big enough, consider SAP. SAP lives on customer service.What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?This product is not suitable for our business. And we encounter lots of issues cancelling the subscription. Infusionsoft charges $2000 start up cost +$299 per month of service fee. Evan Samurin (the Sales) says if it is not for our company, they will do something to credit the upfront $2000 back to us. After we used it for a month our A/P emailed Evan saying infusionsoft is not for us, Evan says that he will forward the message to customer service. I haven't heard from infusionsoft again, We have followed up with Evan with no reply. Our company credit card is billed month after month, which forced our company to call the credit card and cancel the card. Then someone from Infusionsoft customer service, Blake Ghormley emailed us saying we have unpaid balance. We asked Blake to communicate with Evan and credit us back for the months that I didn't use. Blake Ghormley disappeared again. The problem of this product is, Infusionsoft pays $500 referral fee to the person introduce...
