  • Found the app to be very easy to use. Allows for easy set-up of a webinar and the sign-up page looks professional. The connection is always clear with no lag, additionally the software has some handy features for presenters such as screen selection and features around highlighting with your mouse. Moreover, the ability to record webianrs for future re-use is also useful. Overall if you want to run professional webinars this is great.

Pros : Excellent feature set. Great software with no lag/bugs. Good compatibility across devices. Professional look and feel.

Cons : Doesn't allow for he landing pages to be customised enough, would like more options around typography and background.

  • GoToWebinar Use Cases and Deployment ScopeFirst, to be clear, my primary work with GoToWebinar is on the back end to sync our webinars to our marketing automation tool, in our case, Marketo. My experiences have been from this perspective, as well as being part of the test webinars and setup for those that we produce for marketing purposes. As mentioned, our marketing team holds a series of supply industry-relevant webinars to help educate transportation and operations professionals in current issues facing the supply chain world. These webinars are held either with all panelists on-site or sometimes with panelists off-site as well. While our organization has many licenses for GoToMeeting, our webinar usage is confined to our marketing team. We started hosting our own webinars in order to have better visibility into the kind of ROI it was providing. It cut our costs to run them on our own, and it helps us to see what topics are best for our existing customer base, as well as prospective ones.

Pros : GoToWebinar syncs easily with Marketo from Marketo's Launch Point menu. They work fairly seamlessly with little hands-on work required. Since it was important for us to have visibility into what kind of growth we can get from running webinars, this has been the single greatest piece about using the platform. We are able to use Marketo's built-in analytic tools to determine the efficacy of our topics, our panelists, and running webinars in general.GoToWebinar is able to support a panelist-type we

Cons : We have had some issues using GoTo to run a live webinar that is based on a previous recording. In our particular instance, we had a panelist have to cancel last minute, and it was a struggle to successfully record a practice to then run for the live webinar. The platform is built more for a live-session.In the past, we have had recordings disappear. We record all of our webinars to then house online for people to watch at their leisure (a common practice). There have been, on more than one occa

  • What do you like best?

Setup and scheduling of webcasts is easy - and it automatically links info to our eTrigue marketing automation system.

    What do you dislike?

There is a "new" and an "old" version of this. I am more comfortable with the older version through experience. The newer version places options in different areas. Both work well.

GoToWebinar is a common presenting tool that has many bells and whistles. Works on all platforms and is tried and true in the industry. GoToWebinar is a powerful program that can be used for simple screen shares or in-depth presentation with interaction for the attendees. With integrated audio and phone features it can accommodate anyone.

    Pros :

    • GoToWebinar is fairly easy to use. Not too much research needs to be done beforehand. You have to download some software, install, and then you are ready to go.
    • GoToWebinar works wells with outlook as well, so it makes it easier to invite others to the meeting.
    • Gotowebinar is a large enough product that you can use it for a 3 person meeting or to broadcast to hundreds or people.
    • I have hosted many meetings using GoToWebinar and have been invited or joined even more.
    • It’s a very common tool for collaborative meetings where a visual aid is needed. Most people are familiar with the program since it is so widely used.
    • There are also many add-ons that make it a great program.
    • There is chat function, question and answer, and even polling. When the presentation is complete, you can look at stats of your presentation as well.
    • The Android app works well also. It is great if you just want to listen in, or if you want to view the presentation or interact.
    • Another great feature is that you can annotate anything on your screen.

    Cons :

    • Sometimes downloading a program for every meeting can be annoying.
    • There are other options out there that don’t require that step which are little more seamless.
    • It is common for first time users to run into some issues when downloading and running the small file.
    • Especially with some computers that how pop up and download blockers. It is not a free program.

GoToWebinar is a product that almost any company has a use for ... SAAS companies can demo their products, educational companies can provide continuing education courses live, and there are countless other uses that GoToWebinar fulfils.

Having said that, GoToWebinar is an incredibly difficult platform to use on OSX. I'm an avid Mac and Chrome user and over the past 4-5 months they've been moving away from a downloadable client to a chrome plugin ... the problem with this is if I'm made the presenter I have to download the software package! It kind of defeats the purpose and wastes time while I have to wait for the software to download and share my screen.

    Pros :

    • GoToWebinar is reasonably priced and allows anyone to quickly create a webinar for up to 1,000 people. We've never gotten past 500 but I like that there is that capacity if we ever have a very popular session in the future.
    • It works across PC, Mac, Android, and iOS (with an iPAD version as well) ... very handy to have an app to join meetings while on the go (like waiting for a flight in an airport)!
    • You can use their free conference call software which allows presenters and attendees to join the audio via phone or over VOIP on their computers. I like that this is included in the package as conference call numbers can actually be pretty pricey!

    Cons :

    • The product itself needs work. They seem to be moving away from a downloadable software package on OSX and moving into a plugin structure for those using Chrome.
    • This plugin does not let you show your screen, requiring presenters to download the software package anyways! This is incredibly annoying for both the presenter and those attending ... waiting 30 seconds may not seem like a big deal but it can just interrupt the flow of a presentation.andnbsp;

GoToWebinar is one of the most known and heavily used applications when it comes to hosting and promoting a webinar online right now and for good reason. Just like all other GoTo products, when it comes to creating, promoting, hosting and following up with webinars, this application has the best tool set to cover all your basis. The interface is relatively easy to use, and the tools are extremely powerful to allow you to either present a simple and straight forward webinar with minimal frills to a complex presentation with multiple presenters, different slide types and interaction points and recording functionalities. GoToWebinar provides everything you need to host a great webinar for a decent price.

    Pros :

    • GoToWebinar has a relatively easy to use interface that takes only a little bit of time to get used to.
    • Mobile-friendly, meaning that you provide your registrants and attendees with more options that fit their needs when you present.
    • The platform makes it so that you can brand different areas of the presentation view that your attendees so, giving you more control over your brand and a more professional appearance online.
    • The tools are by far the best part of the platform, providing you options for multiple presenters from different locations, audience interaction, audience monitoring, post presentation analytics and great recording functionality.

    Cons :

    • Like any other webinar system out there, the price can be a little unwieldy.
    • Also, the user interface is not the most friendly and requires time and practice run to fully get the hang of before presenting a webinar. Without that time, you may not be able to put together the highest quality webinar.
    • The audio connection is not the highest quality in the industry. Often times, you will deal with people requesting that you repeat something or have areas of the webinar be broken up and hard to understand.

We have been using GoToWebinar for a long time now and have seen evolve over time. We evaluated and tested several competitors over the years and had always come to the conclusion that there are no viable alternatives. Very similar to other products in the suite, including GoToMeeting, our users get it. The application is fairly simple. Designed to fit a large audience, the basic features such as raised hands to ask a question remains pretty simple. The organizer needs to know what to do. However, it is sometimes hard to understand different between to between presenter and attendees. Some presenter connects as attendees, and when it is time for them to speak, a long silence is heard. Every time we recall them, whenever it is the same. We sometimes organize practice sessions first. Same thing when attendees get the wrong invite and connect as a presenter, and start speaking during the presentation. The functions are rather simple, nothing revolutionary with competitors. Last years, the audio bridge got pretty unstable with a lot of drops, but they seem to have fix it, haven’t heard since. Sometimes, It becomes difficult to navigate through the versions, particularly on Mac. The recording is rather poor and does not save the Webcam. Otherwise, when I’m an attendee, it’s working ok. I get the invite email, click on the link, and join the webinar. Since it’s pretty popular, my plugin is already installed, and I get to the presentation. The chat is always to “everyone” and it’s annoying since 99% of the time I want to speak to the presenter, not to the whole audience.

    Pros :

    • Interface looks like the other GoTo*.
    • It’s popular, and Basic.
    • You can customize some form and screens.

    Cons :

    • No killer feature, all look the same.
    • Sometimes the audio bridge drops the call.
    • The Mac client is not the same as PC.

GoToWebinar is easy-to-use tool to conduct webinars and interact with people on the webinar. The attendees can raise their hand to be called upon, ask a question, type or talk, and the presenter can control which of these features attendees can use or not. The webinar can also be recorded to share with attendees who couldn't make it. However, GoToWebinar is somewhat eclipsed by Google Hangouts, since that's free, browser-based, and you can actually see attendees' faces. You can listen in with your computer speakers or call in to a conference call line. Generally presenters have the lines muted so attendees or their background noise can't interrupt. Though presenters can mass-unmute or selectively mute certain attendees to enable them to speak if desired. They have a 30-day trial, which doesn't require a credit card. You could, do multiple trials with multiple email addresses, if you're an infrequent user. I hate getting dinged on subscription charges if I'm not using a product, I'd rather pay-per-use, than feel forced to use it. You can export your attendee list, survey them to see what they thought of your webinar, and give out virtual handouts, like a copy of the presentation.

    Pros :

    • 30 day free trial per email address
    • Industry leading tool.
    • Can record webinars.
    • Can interact with attendees in a variety of ways.
    • Can export your attendee list
    • Can give out handouts, like a copy of the presentation

    Cons :

    • Costs money.
    • Requires a download

Webinars are an essential tool for educating potential customers and generate leads. GoToWebinar is a great product for conducting webinars for a large number of people, even those located in different countries or states. Attendees and webinar hosts will both find that this product is very easy to use with it's straightforward features and impressive post-webinar reports.

    Pros :

I like that GoToWebinar can create a unique and custom presentation for the host organization. You can customize registration questions and also make a branded waiting room with your logo, images and a welcome message that audience members will see before the presentation begins. You can also set up survey questions that will be sent to attendees following the webinar, or you can direct them to a website where they can find more information about your company’s products and services or additional resources. First of all, you can have up to 1,000 people attend your webinar. Not only can your participants view the webinar on their computer, GoToWebinar offers apps so that the content is also accessible via mobile phones and tablets, making it even easier for people to join your webinar. This added convenience can potentially result in a higher number of attendees. One of the coolest features for moderators is that you can review questions sent in by attendees without making them visible to everyone. So you can choose to answer if the question is relevant and you have enough time, or ignore it if it’s not related to the topic at hand. Following the webinar, you can see data, such as the number of participants and poll results if you’ve included surveys. There are a number of different plans to choose from so that you can find a price and offering that fits your needs.

    Cons :

Like with any webinar-hosting service, you’ll want to test it out to make sure you don’t have any technical issues. Sometimes people might get disconnected or have trouble with some of the features.
