HootSuite was a great fit for our needs. It is affordable, and able to be expanded as you grow. We liked HootSuite because of the abilities to assign teams to certain social media accounts or certain clients we are managing their social media for. You can see what other team members are posting, where and when which helps you plan when to post your content to avoid stacking content and not allowing it sometimes to reach your customers feeds.andnbsp;
Not unlike many other social media management solutions, SproutSocial allows you to queue messages, monitor social conversations and respond within the program. You can very easily see a whole snapshot of your upcoming posts for one or all clients and easily make changes, add photos and determine the best time to send out your content in order to maximize engagement. There won’t be a huge learning curve because it’s a very straightforward solution so I would recommend this to any organization that needs to manage multiple social profiles.
The best thing about SproutSocial is that it goes beyond Twitter, unlike many other popular solutions. In addition to Twitter, you can integrate Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Google+. So rather than using many different tools to analyze your engagement and progress across each platform, you can think of SproutSocial as your all-in-one solution for social media management.
Another feature I really enjoy is the Smart Inbox, which allows you to set up keywords for your client’s brands and have the results delivered to this inbox. This is super helpful if you want to monitor keywords on Twitter or even hashtags on Instagram, especially if you’re running a contest and want all of the results aggregated in one place.
The reports are very clean looking and provide a lot of great analytics for your team and clients to review in order to improve your social media management.
Because SproutSocial can integrate multiple types of social media platforms, it is a bit pricier than others on the market. The cheapest plan starts at $60 per month and allows you to handle 10 profiles. For larger firms handling multiple clients and multiple platforms across each client, you may have to upgrade to the third tier team plan, which is a bit pricey at $500 per month.
Overall, though, I would say it’s worth the investment to have all of your social media analytics right at your fingertips within one easy to use the program.
HootSuite is a fine tool for people that simply want to find a better way to spend their social media time. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow you to do much else, so for me, it raises the question as to why? There are a very few brands out there that can afford to simply stay active on social media and engage with their community and have success without doing much else marketing work. Typically, people that want to grow their businesses have to take a more multifaceted approach. Sure, have social media is great, but to what end do you make that effort? What is the best case scenario? Someone falls in love with your Facebook posts so much that they decide to buy your goods or pay for your services? Most likely, that isn’t how it will go. It is much more likely that they will Like your post and move on, leaving all your hard work to waste. By taking a more strategic approach and linking all of your marketing efforts to ensure that they all drive towards the same goal, you will see an increase in overall production. Sure, getting people to Like your posts is good, but that doesn’t make a sell. What you need to be really focused on is driving value for your business, and the way you can do that is by leveraging and creating valuable content. Use your social networks to share this content, but have the content live on your website itself, that way people have to come to your website to view it. This enables them to be exposed to more of your material while also giving you the opportunity to gate some of the more valuable things. For instance, you can talk lightly about a topic in a blog article. This can be freely accessible to anyone. Then you can elaborate on that topic for a downloadable offer like a white paper or an eBook. That way you will gain their contact information and be able to market to them moving forward.
