  • Even after a redesign that drew heat from longtime users, Flickr is still the best place online for your digital photos.

    PROS

    -Beautiful presentation of photos.
    -1 terabyte of free storage.
    -Good organization tools.
-Great community features with photo interest groups of every flavor.
    -Geo-tagging.
    -People-tagging.
-Basic online photo editing with Aviary.
    -Traffic statistics.

    CONS

-Black background on photo page doesn't work well with black-background photos.
-Map not displayed on photo page.
-User has no control over layout of profile page.

  • If you like see what you're friends are shooting or want a way to share your photography skills, the Flickr app for iOS offers better browsing and new filters to make your photos pop.

  • Social, easy and with many integration options, Flickr is your Facebook of photo storage and sharing services. It’s super affordable, very well designed and, from what I’ve experienced of the web interface, functions very well. While it will do the job for professionals, there are other options available that would offer more power, control and features.

Flickr allows its user to upload their photos and share them with the world. It is user-friendly, easy to upload pictures and find them too. You can upload your pictures from any device with a simple click and drag motion. It is a free and paid website with a certain amount of storage per month depending on your membership. Paid subscribers are eligible for an unlimited amount of storage. Your membership provides your own Web page with your personalized URL. The privacy setting allows you to choose who you would like to share your digital media with, family, friends, or the public. My students share their photos by sending the link via Edmodo because they do not have an email, but older students could share them using their personal emails. Students learn to tag their pictures in order for other users to find what they need. In addition, students can create a photostream or view photo streams from other users to find resources. Excellent resource to teach students how to search for pictures label for reuse or public domain. Flickr has the Creative Commons license which means you can share the images with your classroom without breaking copyright laws.

    Pros :

    • Great source to understand the Creative Common license, finding resources on public domain, and great tool for researching material for different subjects.
    • Photo Editor has filters and correction tools, helping you eliminate cosmetic flaws.
    • There is a help forum to post questions and read answers. The FAQ helps you with basic information about how to navigate the site.

    Cons :

    • Teachers have to be careful about students searching freely the site because some questionable material pops on.
    • Probably best to use with high school students.
    • Sometimes it takes a long time to load.

For the photography community, Flickr is a mammoth. Even though the new update to the website has substantially changed it for good, many users seem a little distressed by it. They even reduced the free storage to a 100GB. Even though the new changes seem to lower the see-saw on Flickr, certain features have outshone the others. The prominent new feature is the camera roll. When we sync our mobile to Flickr, our photos are automatically uploaded to an online cloud which can be accessed from the computer as well and can be shared with others easily. We have options to edit the photo and view how many people had seen the picture. Containing over a million groups or communities in every taste, not choosing Flickr if you are a photographer may seem a tad stupid.

    Pros :

    •  Basic Photo editing.
    • People can be tagged along with places.
    • Huge community.
    • Statistics.

    Cons :

    • Slow security.
    • Free storage has been reduced to 100GB.

Great site to share pictures, this is a safe site too as we ourselves are the ones who decide who is allowed to see the pictures. It is a great social networking site, and the user interaction is great. We can browse, upload, save and yes most importantly show off with our pictures too, amazing site I must say.

    Pros :

    • Huge storage is available.
    • Variety of options are available, tagging, adding to groups, views.
    • Well-organized site.

    Cons :

    • the amount of uploading pictures is though limited.
    • People copy and hack accounts too.
    • Its app automatically keep running even on data package.
    • Its app is quite slow too.

Flickr is a well-known online application for sharing photos. It's generally used by avid photographers and professional photographers sharing pictures from professional cameras of either life events or professional events. Mostly, it's random photos and a ton of views of them. Really, there needs to be a better way to control the amount of low-quality and similar types of photos uploaded. You don't really see this problem on other sites like Facebook and Instagram, probably because you can just mass upload to Flickr as more of a digital storage ground rather than sharing with a particular audience. Flickr gives you a terabyte of storage, which is huge, and probably encourages this "mass upload every single angle you took and don't worry about deleting anything" mentality. You can organize photos by albums and tags, to organize them by events, days, etc. Flickr works on all platforms and devices too. With Flickr Pro at just $5.99 per month, you can get stats on your photos, add free browsing for you and your photo-viewers and annual plans save on shipping of Flickr photo merchandise and 20% Adobe Creative Cloud. Pictures show all the camera data, for photo nerds. You can favorite, share and download photos if allowed by the publisher. Publishers can also set the licensing terms, such as whether other people can use, modify or edit for commercial purposes. Being that the site attracts photographers with high-quality cameras, most pictures are of high-quality. Many pictures are of nature too.

    Pros :

    • Huge amount of storage.
    • Works on all platforms and devices.
    • Good search, and can filter by license type to.

    Cons :

    • Cluttered with a huge amount of similar photos from users.

If you find yourself attached to your mobile device, Flickr is a good option. This photo sharing site is optimized for endless, mouse-free scrolling on a tablet or smartphone. You can upload your images through the official Flickr app or create an app of your own. The best parts about Flickr like the communities and massive storage space are free. There is not a glamour to this site, but it makes up for that in its usability.

Pros : It appeal to photographers and those who are searching for a place to store their pics and video safely online. It gives you a service to get socialize with each other by offering different groups you can join. Your friends can add comments to your photos as well as can download. Because its a free service.

Cons : However it does not offer in-house printing, you will not know where your products are made or when they will arrive.
