1Password Review by Cloudswave

In today's world, few things are as important as online security.
It's essential to have high quality strong passwords, but it is equally important to change them regularly. Still, many people tend to have trouble when it comes to creating good passwords and changing them. Too many people keep their password month after month and year after year.
This puts them in jeopardy online. Social media accounts, bank and credit card accounts, and more could be hacked if the security is not strong enough. 1Password is has been helping make online security for passwords much easier.
In this review, we'll be looking at the application, its features, and whether it is worth the time and money to install and start using it.

Why Does 1Password Make Sense?

Do you have trouble remembering your passwords? If you are creating strong passwords that have a combination of letters, numbers, and characters, then it can quickly become confusing to try to remember them all, especially if you are changing them as frequently as you should.
Eventually, the human brain will fail, and you will not be able to recall your password. You have to go through the entire rigmarole of contacting the service provider and requesting a change of password. This takes up valuable time and it can be a hassle. 1password One of the ways that people have tried to get around this is by using the same password for multiple accounts. This is a huge mistake. If a hacker were to get his or her hands on that password, they would have access to all of your information. Others decide to write down their passwords, often storing them on a computer or on a slip of paper at home or the office. These options aren't secure either.
However, 1Password is a password management app that will allow you to store all of your passwords securely, so you can access them quickly and easily. It has been around for a number of years now, and it offers a range of benefits to the users.
1Password is now available on multiple platforms, so you can use it whether you are on a Mac or Windows machine, as well as an iPhone or an Android phone. This makes it a fantastic option for those who are working on multiple types of machines.
For example, some people might have a Mac at the office and a PC at home, and they may use an iPhone. This app is compatible across all of those devices, so keeping passwords properly managed is very easy.

How Does It Work?

When you first get started with 1Password, you will have to choose a strong master password. This will be the password that you are going to use to get into the main application. When you are creating a password, make one that's easy for you to remember, but is complex enough that others will not be able to guess it.
The same rules apply to this password as any other password that you would create. The more complex the better, so long as you can remember it.

After you've created a quality password, you will then install the browser extensions for your operating system - Chrome, Opera, Safari, or Firefox. This extension will then be available from the toolbar right on the browser.
When you go into the application, you can start to save usernames and passwords for all the different password protected sites you frequent. When you visit a site, the extension gives you the option of saving the username and password, which you will be able to use during your subsequent visits, as long as you are logged into 1Password.
When you visit those sites after installation, it will make getting onto the sites fast and easy, all with a couple of clicks or taps depending on the device you are using.
While the Mac, PC, and mobile device apps all work in slightly different ways, they have basically the same options and features, which will make it easy for users to transition from one platform to another. This means that getting onto all of your websites should be fast and easy… and you will no longer have to struggle to remember the password for a site that you joined six months ago.

What Are the Features?

The system also offers a strong password generator, which is a nice solution for those who have trouble coming up with good passwords. It's a simple to use system that will create unique passwords that are truly unique. You are even able to add your own customization to the passwords. One of the best features is the security audit, which will show all of the old, weak, or duplicate passwords so that you can update and change them.
1password3
The 1Password Watchtower is a new service that provides you with up to date information about your security. It will check the logins for any potential vulnerabilities and it will let you know which sites need to have new passwords. The application also allows users to create multiple vaults and to share them with others.
Your data will synchronize between all of your different devices using the WiFi sync option, or using iCloud or Dropbox. This means your data should always be available for you.

Have used this product for several years now. It is valuable as a one-stop resource to manage my various web logins, credit card info and selected personal info that I need to access regularly. The fact that I can save it on one device and have it sync to my other devices is hugely valuable to me. I use in on my home machine, my work laptop and on my cell phone.

Pros :

  • Provides all the functions that I need to keep track of sensitive data.
  • Appreciate the ability to auto-generate very secure passphrases, and the software will remember them for me when I am ready to login.
  • Also, having easy access to secure credit card info only at the time of purchase saves me a lot of time.

Cons :

  • Old versions used to require manual sync between devices. That has be solved with syncing to cloud accounts, like DropBox or iCloud. So, with the latest version, I have no real complaints.

What do you like best?My OneLogin experience is limited to the Enterprise. I have no idea if they actually exist outside of the enterprise. OLI is just as it says, you login once and all of your accounts are automatically signed in. The setup is very intuitive and it seemed to support every product that I was currently using. What do you dislike?Product integration was not always smooth, there were definitely glitches.

1Password makes it easy to save your own bacon. No, it’s not cheap, but then again it’s neat. You can save everything you need to keep safe and easily access it across multiple platforms. Just pay the $50 already and get to it.

I think the application is extremely useful. It is a productivity enhancement app as well as an operating system that connects multiple elements of your SaaS ecosystem into a single cohesive whole.

I've used 1Password on my Mac for a while, first for private use and then in the office. We've also had clients use the tool and after listening to their feedback and combined it with my own experience - i came to the conclusion that 1Password is indeed a very secure login and password management but seemed to be too much of a hassle to use properly/smoothly on a daily basis.
