  • KeePassX is a solid password management tool that allows you to safely store your passwords. The fact that you can import files from other applications and that it's an open source product is surely a plus. If you're interested in securely managing your passwords, you should definitely give KeePassX a try.

  • Despite lacking browser integration and automatic synching across devices, KeePass is a very easy to use password manager.

Storing the database in Dropbox (or similar) works well for synching, and remember that the file is immune from Dropbox spying thanks to the strong encryption applied before uploading). We also found that when used in tandem with a browser’s built-in password manager, we did not find the lack of full browser integration much of an issue.

What you do get with KeePass is a robust and highly secures password manager, that thanks to its open source nature is unlikely to contain any backdoors or other nasty surprises. It’s also completely free!

  • This is a safe and secure password protection and management program with a lot of nice features that's available for free. If you're looking for a way to keep your log-in information safe, KeePass is definitely worth a try.

  • The fact is, if you want to keep your personal info from getting into the hands of every Tom, Dick, and Sergei hacker, you must use distinct logins, of sufficient complexity, for all your various accounts, and a password manager makes that possible. LastPass offers the convenience of being tied to your browser, so you can easily save your entered data and access it from other PCs. But our loyalties still lie with KeePass Password Safe, for its open-source nature, free smartphone app, and universal access when stored in Dropbox

  • KeePass 1 has stood the test of time well and KeePass 2 databases improve on what is already a very good thing. It really says something that KeePass remains one of the most prevalent password solutions out there, and thanks to projects like KeyPassX being a Mac or Linux user shouldn’t deter anyone; especially with great iPhone apps like MiniKeePass available.

  • Get KeePass, and start using it right now. You'll thank yourself next time a major website breach vents thousands of usernames and passwords into cyberspace.

It is absolutely essential for keeping your passwords secure and unique.

  • KeePassX is a very useful and valuable password manager. Its storage capabilities and strong password generator have helped me greatly improve my on-line security over my former password-tracking methods. KeePassX's cross-platform compatibility also provides versatility in conjunction with its sibling application KeePassDroid. Although there are other good password managers, KeePassX in particular is worth trying.

  • KeePass and 1Password stood out as the best of the bunch for slightly different reasons. KeePass is free open source software with a large community of users and add-ons behind it. But most important, KeePass has been written with a good sense for how people need to interact with the program every single day.

  • Password manager KeePassX is an excellent way to manage passwords on your Mac. Open Source and user friendly, this application goes above and beyond by supporting two types of encryption algorithms. Drawbacks such as the lack of support for plugins along with no integration with web browsers hold this application back from being perfect. However, the pro's far outweigh the con's and if you would like to improve the way you use and store passwords, KeePassX is the best option available.
