Cloudswave Editorial Review
GoDaddy Review by Cloudswave
All businesses today need to have a strong presence on the web, and it does not matter how large or small your company might be. If you aren't on the web, and if you do not have a high quality site, chances are very good that you will fail. Most companies already know this. However, they may not know how to build their site or how to get it started. Some might already have a site and want to switch between web hosts. With all of the options out there, it can get confusing rather quickly. Some host options stand above the others, and GoDaddy.com is certainly one of them.
The company has been doing a very good job of expanding and branding itself over the last decade, and it can provide your company with a fantastic foundation on the web. It can work well for personal sites and business sites alike. They have a wealth of different options for those looking for a webhost but it is important to note that they are pricier than some of the other similar options on the market.
Customize the Hosting Plan
When you choose to set up a website with GoDaddy.com, you are able to customize your website to your specifications. They have both shared web hosting and dedicated web hosting options. The shared hosting options are, naturally, more affordable than those who want to use a dedicated server. They also have VPS plans available for individuals and companies that would rather use a virtual private server. This can be a good solution for those who are not ready to upgrade to a dedicated server quite yet.
Users are also able to set up a GoDaddy hosted site and create their site with the company's website building tool. This tool makes it easy to put a site together with relative ease, even for those who do not know much about building a website. It is easy to add links to social media, slideshows, forms, and more simply by dragging them and dropping them around the template to the position you desire. One of the drawbacks is the fact that, unlike some of the competition, the site builder is not free. It requires a monthly fee to be able to use it. Currently, the fee is only $1. However, keep in mind that all prices are subject to change.
What if you only want to set up a blog? GoDaddy.com makes it easy for you to set up a managed WordPress blog through them. GoDaddy offers a wealth of different themes and plugins you can use, and will back up the site each night. The CMS is already installed. It is very easy to create pages, posts, galleries and much more. This could be a nice option for both businesses who want to set up a dedicated blog for their company, as well as individuals who want to blog.
You are able to choose from different types of plans, and you can select your contract term so you can lock in better rates. We won't be talking about the pricing specifics, as these can change. However, when you choose a longer term, such as 12 months or 24 months rather than a three-month plan, you can generally save a substantial amount. It's a tactic to get users to stick with them as a web host for longer, and it works well.
Other Features and Potential Benefits
Everyone needs email, and it's natural that GoDaddy offers email accounts with all of their shared hosting plans. However, they do not offer email on their dedicated hosting plans. Users will have to buy the email separately as an addition to their dedicated hosting plan. This could be a turnoff for some users. They have a number of different tiers (with varying prices) including Email Essentials, Business Essentials, and Productivity Plus.
Users who want to have an ecommerce website, or at least a shopping cart on their site, will be able to add one through their options. The ecommerce options with GoDaddy are very flexible and expansive. The only real drawback is that it takes a bit more knowledge to set up and get going than some of the competitors' sites do. They have some drag and drop elements, which should make it relatively simple for those who have at least a basic idea of how they want to set up their site. The basic Quick Shopping Cart that you can set up has a single GB of space. It is possible to upgrade and get more space, at an additional cost. This allows you to offer more products, and is likely essential for many of the medium and large businesses out there.
Security is also highly important for your website if you hope to retain your visitors and customers. For an additional fee, GoDaddy.com offers their SiteLock service. This provides a site verification certificate, spam monitoring, malware monitoring, and app scanning. Given the dangers of the online world today, having additional security is essential, even if it does cost more. You want to make sure that your site is safe and that there is no chance of infecting or harming those who come to visit or buy from your site. One security issue could cause customers to no longer trust your website, and it can cost you a substantial amount of business.
Good customer service is always important, and GoDaddy has a good reputation in this field. They offer phone, email, and chat support so you can get answers to your problems around the clock. They respond quickly as well and seem very dedicated to keeping their customers as happy as possible.
domain.com Review by Cloudswave
Every business owners there is only so much they can do without a website. Ergo, almost every company in any given industry has a web presence. The problem is that just having a website these days isn’t good enough. You need quality hosting, cyber security and a beautiful design. If all of this leaves you overwhelmed, you’re not alone. That’s why so many companies in your shoes have gone with Domain.com.
This hosting company does so much more than just give you cyber real estate for your business though. If you’re worried your company doesn’t have the resources to support a fully-functional, high-performing site, wait until you see what Domain.com has to offer.
What to Expect from Most Hosting Companies
Chances are that you’ve already looked at a number of your options as far as hosting goes. There are a number of very popular options if all you want is traditional hosting. Truth be told, these companies are probably going the way of the dinosaur though. Huge corporations can afford their own hosting and the IT staff necessary to support them. The rest are left either going with one-size-fits all choice or they know that their needs require a custom approach.
Unfortunately, if you don’t know about Domain.com, you’ve probably chosen a traditional hosting company and the lackluster features they provide. This means that you’ll get your company hosted on a server and some minimal security elements. Maybe—maybe—you’ll even get the option to choose from one of their website templates.
If this doesn’t sound appealing, that’s because it isn’t. Let’s look at how Domain.com has convinced so many customers to leave behind these old-school providers and go with a more turnkey solution.
A Better Kind of Hosting
There’s no getting around hosting. If you want a website, you need a computer that can store the memory required to support it. Literally, there has to be a computer out there that “remembers” what to show users when they show up at your site. It sounds easy enough, but these days, a company like Domain.com is required to give you the best option.
That’s because even the most traditional hosting companies have problems. They can become overloaded by users and drop the connectivity, for one. If that happens, you’ll want to know you can get someone on the phone to explain what’s going on and give you an ETA when your site is going to be back up. Do you really think that’s likely with a mega-site hosting company?
With Domain.com, you’ll always have someone there to answer your calls and walk you through any problem you’re having. If the issue is on your end, you’ll have an explanation you can actually act on so that you’re not losing customers for no reason.
For some companies, the above is unthinkable. Luckily, this type of situation doesn’t happen much. Still, if you don’t want to toss and turn at night, you might want to consider VPS hosting.
VPS stands for Virtual Private Server. It’s a hybrid of options. Having a private server has become more and more popular because it makes it very unlikely your site will ever crash. However, paying the hardware involved to host this kind of arrangement is generally cost-prohibitive for most companies.
Virtual hosting means that this type of setup happens on the cloud. For one thing, it’s far more affordable. You don’t pay for nearly as much hardware, so you can build and drop your company’s hosting as you please. Get bigger? Get more hosting. Is your company dropping in visitors? Stop paying for hosting you don’t need unnecessarily. You can easily drop your server’s output.
When you add in the private side of VPS, though, you no longer have to worry about sharing hosting with other companies and potentially lose your website’s operation. VPS is an unrivaled way of keeping your website online.
Web Design Services
Now, a hosting service is important, but without a quality design, all the design aspects in the world won’t save you. Think about. Hosting is basically the property a house is built on. However, you could have the nicest property in the world, but if your home is awful, you’re never going to see any visitors.
Fortunately, Domain.com has you covered. If your company doesn’t have the resources to design a site for you and you think all you can do is pay for hosting and hope for the best, you’re in for a welcomed surprise.
Starting at just $49.99/month, you’ll get a professionally designed website, exactly as you hoped for and the staff to support it.
Quality Content on Demand
Finally, your website won’t be much use if it just looks good. It doesn’t stop there when a customer shows up, right? They also need to marketed to and sold on your product. This is another big expense most companies need to put into their overhead. Quality doesn’t come cheap and it even takes a lot of work to find a provider.
Customers of Domain.com don’t have to worry that their gorgeous website is falling short of content though. The company can actually provide you with the writers you need to craft copy that converts. They know every business has its own voice and unique selling angle, so communicate this to them and they’ll get you the words you need to sell.
This is why Domain.com has been the choice of so many small and medium-sized businesses that go on to beat out their competitors. You really get everything you need with this hosting provider. Just bring your ideas and they’ll pretty much handle everything else.
Before you go throwing a bunch of resources at the website your company needs, stop for a moment and look into Domain.com. You’ll soon realize that you don’t need to hire a whole IT team just to get online and stay competitive. With Domain.com, you have a virtual squad of professionals ready and willing to show you the results you want.

There’s no doubt WestHost is a decent web hosting service. It provides affordable web hosting that’s supplemented with comprehensive customer support options. Plus, its website creator (though some of its features cost extra) can help you build a polished, professional website in as little as one day. That being said, we were disappointed its hosting plans aren’t more inclusive and that the business plan is the only package that offers truly unlimited hosting.
