Avira is hands-down one of the best antivirus software solutions available – even the free version is far better than many paid solutions. In my personal experience, I have seen a large amount of users with considerable system performance issues caused by viruses and malware that their antivirus software has been unable to detect. They have experienced a drastic improvement in performance as soon as they upgraded to the free version of Avira. The great customer value of Avira is due to the fact that it offers excellent protection while being lightweight: the effect on system resources is minimal. Avira’s Real-Time Protection is proactive, has a nearly instantaneous response to threats, and it can scan in the background with a relatively small impact on system performance. The free version is a must for any home user, and the Pro version offers enhanced protection during Internet browsing, online purchases and banking transactions.
Panda Antivirus offers great protection to Mac users, not only them but to PC users too. This is probably the only antivirus which doesn't pop up notifications every single day, it automatically updates, and removes the threat as np computer is safe from threats. It gives a strong protection from malware. The software is based on cloud computing. It works even in an off-line mode. Very useful!
SpamFighter solves what a lot of people hate. No not vegetables but spam mail! Spamfighter can diagnose PC issues, making your computer go faster and prevent you from getting all that pesky jump mail that you may or may not have even signed up for yet! I spent a few minutes deciding when was the worst era of spam mail. About 10-15 years ago there were not that many "spam fighting" software solutions and the tech companies were really just starting to book. But now people are smarter, Outlook is much better and allowing its users to block emails out. I just block everything and every sender from what I don't need. Other emails that have been open for 15 years are much different, though :)
Pros : One of my favorite things about SpamFighter is that you can use it on your PC and Mac. I have a PC for my work and my mom's computer, and then I have a Mac that I use for myself, and my wife uses it for her email too.Spamfighter blocks almost each spam email and very rarely messed up by slipping in something that will annoy you. It is free, so that is always good!
Cons : What I think aggravates most people is that insert ad footer at the bottom of your emails that tells everyone you are using it. Honestly, that may not be a big deal for some, but many people have spent a long time on their email signatures, and they don't want their spam filter to make their email look "spammy" and that is kind of ironic! Some say you may not need this because what I do in my Outlook is I just block every single email that comes in that is not for work. Also, as a quick tip what I do is to make a different email for junk/advertisement/sign up things you do for companies or promotion. I also many an email that I just give for serious purposes that I know when I get an email then it is for something important!
Because I’m an advanced IT geek, I am not used to have an antivirus on my personal computers, but with all the phishing and crap we download these days, it’s a must. Virus are more and more sophisticated, and maybe the operation system is more secure than it used to be, you are still in danger. You don’t want your computer to be infected by a ransomware for example and lose all your data. You need to find an antivirus that fits your needs. Avira is overall a great antivirus, but nothing else than a signature scanner. There is some strange choice like why do I need to be an administrator to start a scan? Why do you have a Firewall section when you don’t have a firewall? I tested both Antivirus Pro and Internet Security Suite. You know what? The different is that the security suite comes with “PC Speed Optimization”. How does it make a “Security Suite” adding “speeds”? Really not sure. Did I say that the website is very slow? There are many different preset scans that you can run. Standard recommendation of the industry is running a full scan once a week, and a Quick scan once a day. Why? Because full scan are to resource intensive, and with the new virus signature coming every day, you may have missed the virus from the real-time, so you want at least scan the most important files every day. A quick scan on my computer took 41 seconds. Excellent. My appreciation stops here. First, I expect from a security suite to help secure my computer. The firewall is just a configuration for the Windows Firewall, so, basically, they don’t have a firewall. There is a web filtering… but not sure how good it can be since there is no firewall, basic of Security Suite. There is also a Spam filter, that scan POP 110 and IMAP 143, both not SSL. I don’t see any integration in my Outlook, so if you are using Gmail, it won’t be scanned.

Avira Antivirus Pro is a better antivirus for PC product than half of the competitors in our product review. It’s just that, for Americans, it would be necessary to telephone long-distance to Europe if you had a situation that couldn’t be resolved via email. And in a market where most competitors provide online chat access to technical support, Avira does not. Finally, while quite a few of Avira’s competitors cover more than one PC with a single license, an Avira license protects just one PC.More about Avira Antivirus Pro

SPAMfighteris an excellent program for computer users who run at least one of the supported desktop email clients. Its core features are the cloud based approach to identifying new spam messages and the filtering system, especially the language filter. The program is easy to setup and use as it integrates automatically with supported email clients. Experienced computer users will find the whitelisting and blacklisting of email addresses and domains useful, inexperienced users that it works very well right of the box.More about SPAMfighter
