SaneBox Review by Cloudswave
If you are like most people, your email inbox is overflowing and it is getting worse with each passing day. Some of the messages are important, some are junk mail, and others can simply wait a while until you can get to them. However, trying to go through the email each day and organize things is a real chore, and it is one that most people do not have time for.
SaneBox could be a good solution for this issue. The idea of SaneBox started in 2010, and it has been growing and becoming a better, smarter, and more intuitive email management system ever since. The developers wanted to find a way to improve the email experience, and they had several self-imposed rules in place during the creation of the tool.
They wanted to make sure it was easy for the customer, it had to work in all locations where people check their email, it had to be secure, and valuable. It also had to improve and evolve with the times. The result was SaneBox, a service that has some fantastic features to help you regain control of your email quickly and easily.
How Does It Work?
It is actually a brilliant system that solves what should be simple problem. You have an inbox that's bursting with emails that don't matter, junk mail, and emails that you can save for later. Amidst all of those are some important emails you need to address right away. SaneBox adds a folder to your inbox that filters your email. It does this by observing what you do with emails. Which ones do you read? Which ones are ignored and deleted? How long does it take you to get to the email?
The system considers these things, and it scans the headline to determine whether it should be kept in your regular inbox or send to your SaneLater folder. This is simply a folder in your email client that has all of the emails deemed unimportant.
Does this always work? It's a very good system that has a high level of accuracy. However, it may need some training. At the end of each day, you should skim through the SaneLater folder to determine whether there were any important emails that were misdirected. Simply move them back to your inbox, and SaneBox will learn from its mistakes and not make them again. The more you use the system and the more you train it, the smarter it will become.
What Features Are Available With SaneBox?
No matter how or where you read your email, you can be sure that SaneBox will work. It works with all email clients including Gmail, Exchange, Yahoo, Outlook, Apple Mail, and more. Whether you are checking on your desktop, your laptop, your phone, or tablet, it will work. You do not actually have to install anything at all. They simply add a folder to your email and it will start working.
The SaneNoReplies folder is a very useful feature. It tracks all of the emails that you have sent and that have not yet received replies. This will allow you to check on your emails that need a reply and follow up on them.
SaneBlackHole is a very simple unsubscribe feature that most users will find infinitely helpful. How many newsletters do you get? How many advertisements show up in your inbox? When you drag one of those emails into the SaneBlackHole folder, you will not have to deal with emails from the sender again. They will go into the trash. This tool makes it easy to subscribe with one click, and for some, that alone is worth the price.
Some of the other folder features you can use include SaneTomorrow, SaneNextWeek, and Custom SaneSnooze. This allows you to have certain emails arrive in your inbox later. This can be helpful when you are dealing with emails that are not time sensitive, and that could serve as reminders later. In addition, SaneBox can notify you when an email you sent did not receive a reply. SaneNews is a folder for newsletters and mailing lists, SaneBulk will collect emails that you don't need, and SaneCC will include all of the emails where you have been CC'ed.
Receive a SaneSummary that shows your inbox's activity over the course of the day. Then review the summary, check reminders, and more right through the summary. If you notice that there are any emails that should not have gone into the folder, you can have it set up for more than once a day if you get a substantial amount of email.
Keep in mind that some of the features, such as SaneBlackHole, SaneTomorrow, and Custom Snooze are part of their optional tools. Depending on the level of Email service you choose, you will have access to one, five, or all of these features.
How Secure Is the System
While it is easy to see just how useful SaneBox can be, security needs to be a top priority. The information in your emails is private and confidential, so you have to be careful when choosing any service such as this. Fortunately, the way that SaneBox works ensures that you never have to worry about your email. The emails never actually leave your server, and SaneBox doesn't have possession of them or read them. The data is always private since the system watches your behaviors to determine what to do with the email rather than reading the email.
One thing to keep in mind is that SaneBox will need your password to access your email inbox. Everything is encrypted though, so it is never reachable. You do not have to worry about others getting access to your password. The company's processing servers utilize VPN tunnels rather than the general Internet to help increase security further.
In addition, the physical data centers are in safe locations and have high quality security. Even the authorized staff that arrives to the server location needs to go through two different authentications systems before they are admitted. In addition, the servers are under video surveillance. You can be very sure that your data is secure.
What Options Are Available for SaneBox?
You will have three versions from which to choose based on your needs. The Snack plan is a good option for those who have a limited number of incoming emails each month. It offers priority filtering, which includes the SaneLater folder, where it will place the less important emails that come in through the day. It also has SaneNoReplies, which will show you the emails that you have sent and that have not yet received replies, so you can follow up. Each month, you will get ten SaneReminders and ten SaneAttachments. It also comes with one optional feature. This could be enough for many people. The current cost of this plan is $7 per month.
The Lunch plan is currently $12 per month, and it has the same features as the Snack plan, with the only differences being that it has 250 SaneReminders and 250 SaneAttachments, and five optional features. The Unlimited plan has the same features as the others, but the SaneReminders and SaneAttachments are unlimited. It also comes with all of the optional features. It currently costs $36 per month. For all of the plans, you can get discounts when you choose yearly and biyearly payment options.
In addition, you can take a free trial to see how it works and whether you like it. If you've been hoping to get better control over your email inbox, this could be a perfect service for you. Check out the trial and then decide whether you want to subscribe to the service.
Is It Like Gmail Tabs?
While there are some similarities to Gmail Tabs, SaneBox offers quite a bit more. For starters, it will work everywhere on all types of devices and clients, not only Gmail. It is a smarter and simpler system, and it offers far more than just filtering capabilities thanks to all of the other features. These additional options and features help to make it infinitely more useful for most people.
Should You Consider Using SaneBox?
Anyone who has a large amount of email could benefit from using this system. Whether they are a private individual or even a business, SaneBox can reduce wasted time spent sorting through the inbox. It is simple to get started, and when using the system for a business, you will have access to admin controls to make controlling everything even easier. While it might not seem as though you are saving much time, they estimate that an employee could save about 100 hours per year using the system.
It is a great option for anyone who is sick of seeing all of the junk pile up in the inbox. You can try the program for free by signing up and no credit card is necessary. If you doubt whether it could be a benefit to you, then this trial period is the perfect time to see how it all works.

In short: I can’t believe this tool is free. I mean, there are paid versions – but I can’t believe the free version is free. And even though 90% of my time spent doing SEO is not on link building, I am what you’d call a “heavy user” of email. I know a promising tool when I see it.

I’ve had a couple of hitches – minor ones – with SaneBox over the year or so that I’ve been using it. Those minor issues were separated by months of flawless service, and in each case, the SaneBox support team responded to my help ticket in less than a day, often multiple times in less than a day. Their service is outstanding.
