Vend is a full-fledged point of sale system, which is completely cloud-based. This means that the service can be accessed from any device with a web browser.andnbsp; One may immediately suggest that the biggest disadvantage to this, is that shops would be rendered inoperable if connection issues occur. This would be the case with other cloud-based solutions. However, Vend has an interesting trick up its sleeve, in the form of offline capabilities, which allow transactions to be processed, and most features within the point of sale software, to function as usual.andnbsp; Once a connection is restored, the changes which would have occurred are then synchronised. This is one of the most useful features of Vend.Vend can be used in environments where there are multiple retail outlets and warehouses, and can streamline the process of coordinating between different outlets through powerful inventory management tools.andnbsp; In fact, online and in-store sales access the same database, so there is no need to maintain multiple separate inventories, essentially unifying and streamlining sales. Vend also supports widespread integration with many barcode scanners, cash registers and printers (including network printers).andnbsp; This, therefore, enables users to set up makeshift and temporary checkout areas through the iPad apps, which can even turn a tablet into a cash register (besides acting as a complete point of sale system), and print receipts by connecting to a wireless printerBesides the in-store point of sale features, Vend can also be used to create an eCommerce presence, similar to what Shopify offers, albeit with less features. Multiple merchants and payment gateways are available including Stripe and PayPal, as well as multi-currency support.andnbsp; It must be noted, however, that eCommerce features are only available in more expensive plans, so not all users can make use of this functionality. Furthermore, while Vend's eCommerce capabilities are relatively straightforward to set up, Shopify's setup experience is easier and more fluid.

Vend is an extremely well-constructed POS with plenty of high-end functionality for a reasonable price. Its cost stands balanced somewhere between “cheap bare-bones” and “luxury POS” — and its tiers, add-ons,andoptional features offer loads of flexibility for just about any business. Retail merchants — or at least gratuity-free environments — probably will glean the most benefit from it, but Vend is undoubtedly an all-around threat suited to keeping owners competitive in any marketplace.More about Vend

We've been using Vend for well over a year and the system is ok if you just have a bricks and mortar shop. Unfortunately if you do anything else, Vend are very unhelpful. We are a multichannel retailer and link Vend to our website with Shopify, and then both link to Xero for finance. Because Vend won't accommodate even the simplest request (even with a year's notice) we have to manually close down the online register every night at midnight 365 days a year. Any other system would have automated this, but not Vend. And when you speak to support they just say it's up the product dept (who you can't communicate with). We are left with no option, but to move to another system. Shame really as if they just listened to their customers and modified the system to fit the demands of modern day businesses, it could be a great system.More about Vend

I've had the WORST experience using this platform. It seems as if they have dramatically over-promised and are unable to deliver. The problems range from but are not limited to: -duplicating items on storefronts -unable to delete incorrect photos (you will delete them, but they will not remove making your listings appear disastrous for unknown periods of time until you can spend hours going through and correcting them another date) -photos disappearing from listings both on their site but also on your webpage or storefront. This causes a very sloppy presentation on Shopify and other resell sites -"copy last" features draw from several items ago, rendering this action unuseable -does not allow calculated shipping via Etsy (BIG Problem) -does not automatically save input- you will list several items before learning this the hard way -does not communicate with Amazon -"List Multiple" option says it's updating in the background while it's actually in the Bahamas somewhere buying pina coladas with the $80/month you spent on this platform I have been contacting them through their "Communication" link that appears to be a chat link, but no one ever responds. I was so upset initially that I did receive one singulare "We're working on it" email that neglected to address ANY of the actual issues I've had with this program. I have wasted hours of both my time and my Assistant's time trying to resolve to no avail. The worst part is that no one will even respond to my multiple requests for help. To say that this is a disappointment is a serious understatement. It has tripled my workload and charged excessively to do so. All and all: VERY POOR FORM.More about Shopseen
