I have mixed feelings about TouchBistro. I really love the app and the way it seamlessly takes you through each step of the restaurant experience (while looking great to beat!). As a POS software it’s a solid, well-developed product. I hesitate a little bit because, in my opinion, cutting-edge hardware like the iPad ought to be paired with cutting-edge cloud technology as well. If I were opening a restaurant, I would really want to take advantage of the power that comes with a cloud-based app. Of course, I also understand that there are risks associated with having your entire POS system based offsite in the cloud. Anyone who has this concern will welcome the alternative that TouchBistro offers. It just depends on what you’re looking for in a POS and the degree of mobility that your business needs.

TouchBistro rates as a solid iPad POS option for small- to medium-sized restaurants according to all available information. The service is available for a low monthly cost and offers a number of useful functions for the day-to-day front-end operation of a restaurant. The service is not recommended for larger businesses at this time, mostly due to its limited feature offering for administrative purposes. It is also possible that contract terms through the company’s partner processors may vary, so merchants should be sure to read their agreements carefully.

TouchBistro is full of valuable tools you can you use to run your quick service or full service restaurant. TouchBistro also offers a 24-hour dedicated telephone service in case you run into any problems. With features that make things easier on your employees and backend reports for managers, TouchBistro constitutes an iPad POS system that will keep your guests happy and business moving.

TouchBistro is a master class in order workflow. It may seem simple at a glance -- lacking a few of those truly advanced features some owners crave -- but its beauty belies the beast beneath. Of the users we've encountered, a significant portion are fine dining establishments that adore the gorgeous interface and breezy functionality. Of course, with its reasonable price and detailed controls, it's just as suitable for small restaurants looking to class up the joint with a little modern zest.
