Cloudswave Score for Revel Systems
Rating based on 5 Critic Reviews
Amad Ebrahimi, on Merchant Maverick
Really, when it comes down to it, the only reason for keeping Revel from a complete five star rating is the price. If you’re looking for a cloud-based POS for a hospitality business then Revel definitely provides the most functionality with the easiest operation. No other comparable system has the kiosk mode, kitchen view, expedite view, and table listing functions. But for regular retail businesses I’d go with one of the more affordable SaaS as the Revel system will not deliver much extra for the increase in price you’ll be paying.
Furthermore, if you’re a small business it would be wise to go with one of the other cloud systems simply for that fact that you do not have as much to spend on a POS. Revel is aimed at businesses bringing in $500k plus a year, so if you’re not in this range you’d be better off moving on.
In the end if you got the funds this system will deliver what you need.

Revel Systems rates as a decent point-of-sale solution according to the available evidence. The company offers a very robust array of features for an iPad-based POS, but it has received some complaints related to its high cost and poor customer service. Revel Systems appears to a good solution for businesses that are interested in its service suite and able to comfortably afford its high up-front costs.

After a limited test, Revel Systems has released a point of sale (POS) system that operates on Apple iPads or iPhones, turning them into cash registers. The company has tapped the Best Buy Geek Squad as its professional services partner for the launch, meaning that small businesses can turn to those technicians to help get them up and running.
