When is comes to spreadsheets that teams are updating and accessing constantly, Smartsheet is the tool! Although is doesn't do some of the in depth features of Excel, it's great for collaboration. When tracking projects and deadlines, SmarthSheet makes it super simple for an entire team to make changes without going through the pains of using methods like those of Sharepoint. The learning curve is simple and the benefits of having easy team collaboration make a huge difference in speeding up productivity.
While JIRA is the only bug tracking software I have used, I've come to really enjoy it think it works pretty well. This also depends on how your business uses it, of course. We use JIRA and a lot of other products that integrate with it, such as Hipchat and Confluence. As I run our beta programs and help solve tickets, I'm constantly communicating with our devs. They do a good job at creating sprints, this allows me to track those sprints and all the bugs, fixes and features that are going along with it. This makes things easy for me to stay on top of what's happening with our products without having to have tons of meetings or chat sessions. Overall I'm very pleased with this product and would like to continue to use it going forward with other companies.

There are also free mobile apps and integration with ZenDesk, Freshbooks, Harvest and other apps like Zapier — everything that a business could need for a full project management suite of tools.

What do you like best?End-user development. This is an online spreadsheet, a 21st Century version of Excel on steroids. As a spreadsheet it allows very flexible formandfunction, the most flexible I've ever seen in an app. I'm also impressed by how well this company executes its vision. It's solid. I've only needed tech support once and I got a reply within 3 hours. What do you dislike?Nothing really. I wish it had some features it doesn't yet have, such as tighter integration with Gmail, but there's nothing I dislike.More about Smartsheet

JIRA Use Cases and Deployment ScopeAs a small software startup, we use JIRA to manage our development pipeline. We log development ideas in the platform, identify priorities, communicate regarding developments and clarification, and keep track of what's been implemented. We're currently maintaining one version of our software while developing a completely new version from scratch to be launched later this year. I made the mistake of purchasing a year's worth of service. Not a good idea, although they say that you can cancel at any time, that does not mean they will refund your money. So, $168 down the drain. The program is not particularly flexible and takes a lot of ongoing maintenance to keep it up and relevant. Beyond that, it does not archive data well. I would pass in favor of virtually anything else.More about Smartsheet
