  • Great Platform!!

I have been using QuickBase for over 2 and 1/2 years. In that time I have come to grow and love the solution. It is very easy to use and customize and the reporting is top notch!

Pros : I love the powerful reporting and the ease of use.

Cons : I don't believe there are any cons at this time.

    Easy and Efficient

Quickbase is a very user friendly application. I have used in two process applications for my company. It doesn't require special advanced Software skills. It is very straight and simple.

Pros : The customer support team is very effective. If I have a question and ask the online support, I would get a reply within less than a day and they are most of the time with answers.

Cons : I would suggest a bit improved notification lists. Multiple email ids for remainders, a sent box for tracking etc.

    Excel on Steroids

I love that QuickBase allows me to customize my applications as much as I need to. Templates are a great place to start learning about how applications are designed on the back end.

Pros : Can access all my applications from anywhere. Powerful reporting.

Cons : Access on a mobile device could use some work.

  • QuickBase is great for communication and sustainability.

QuickBase Use Cases and Deployment ScopeWe use it in each department for different purposes, in accounting and in production management. It allows us to keep productions flowing and share information on the status of each piece. It helps us to capture various kinds of information pertinent to the client. This helps us grow and create sustainability.

Pros : Amazing customer serviceCustomizable optionsDocumentation of dataEasy creation, access and review of reports

Cons : The actual look is a bit antiquated which makes it difficult; the interface / graphics should be upgraded

Quickbase- great customer service, not so great platform

QuickBase Use Cases and Deployment ScopeWe use QuickBase to screen and track all instructional applicants on the front end of our selection process.  Myself and another recruiter do the initial screen, and then school leaders/hiring managers are brought in to view a candidate's profile.  We also use QuickBase  to collect data points on candidates throughout the process and capture our phone screen notes during the initial interview.

Pros : Customizable featuresCustomer serviceUser experience is very straightforwardEliminates clicks- get to where you need to be quickly

Cons : Allow candidates to upload any and all documents on front endEliminate the middle man- customer service is great, but why not let the user edit/develop the appCandidate communication- allow for direct communication to candidates via QuickBase

Much more than an administrative assistant!

QuickBase Use Cases and Deployment ScopeQuickBase is being used extensively in our Center for Social Research on many community and internal research projects as well as in the Provost Office for the Division for Academic Affairs. I have created more than 45 applications, integrated into our own website, in order to improve process flow and data collection for both staff and faculty. The business problem it addresses is lack of IT ability to design and collect said data.

Pros : Database design and collection, as well as reporting functions are great for the non-IT person to create. Before we had QuickBase, all data collection and storage was done with Microsoft Excel with no way to integrate into our website.Love the API calls that bring up immediate/searchable information for our internal and external professional faculty and researchers across the globe. The versatality of the system even allows me to create on-demand RSVP forms for event planning, calendar creation,

Cons : New pricing structure is concerning with our non-profit institution.I would like more advanced training offered on webinars as well as other training opportunities that are more affordable.I'd like QuickBase to contact our IT department to convince them to support our use of their product. Right now there are only two departments that use QB extensively.I would like an opportunity to work for QB to create a new niche and programs within higher education. With what I've developed for us, I'm alre

  • QuickBase has helped with organizing employee records

    What do you like best?

The low coding features make it easy to create different reports and visibility for important information. I also like how reports can be made simply by clicking a few buttons and filters. Filters make it very easy to sort information. The executives in our department often throw off lots of questions to see certain information. QuickBase helps us navigate through our data to find answers to these questions.

    What do you dislike?

Some popular functions, like VLOOKUP type, aren't incorporated in QuickBase functions. It is possible to accomplish the same results in QuickBase as some of these other functions, but for less experienced users, they take much more time to learn.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Take time to do the webinars and call customer support. Kirk Trachey does a great job explaining new functions and possibilities within the program. Also, reach out to other users within your system to try and collaborate on ideas. It can always be a great tool when you find helpful resources in your general proximity.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving problems for determining headcount and forecasting for company growth. In our company we have just recently started realizing that QuickBase can automatically generate important info that is relevant to these problems

Is there a life without QuickBase?

    What do you like best?

QuickBase is very well designed, stable and so easy to implement changes.

This software has revolutionized how our company does business.

We have a saying at our company "if you could think of it QuickBase can do it."

Just let your imagination run. QuickBase is more than just a database it's a SaaS or PaaS that does a great job at creating custom solution without knowing how to write code. I consider myself a "Citizen Developer"

I can implement any changes to the platform without needing a developer. I do it all myself.

    What do you dislike?

There is very little to dislike about this application but if I had to pick one thing I wished the application had a native iPhone and Droid application. It lacks in mobile capabilities but QuickBase is working very hard right now to develop a solution. Yeah !!!

Recommendations to others considering the product

Any company today who is not thinking seriously of using a product like QuickBase is missing the boat

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

There is too many to count but Inventory management, Purchasing, Logistics, Collections, one central location to hold all our data, and on and on...

This application has allowed us to track more information and most importantly generate notices and reminders when a supplier or freight company has not completed something.

This product has become a mission critical application for us and we cannot live without it.

  • The fact that QuickBase is customizable is a big selling point on this program. You can conduct almost all of your business utilizing this program. The program offers technical support and promises ease of use. However, in order to keep QuickBase from being too good to be true, the pricing creates a problem for many small and start up businesses that would otherwise be interested in utilizing the program for their business management needs. This set aside, if you have the resources to use QuickBase, it is a great program, easy to learn and easy to customize.

  • Quickbase, as a project management tool is probably overkill. Although certainly a project management app could be developed within the Quickbase framework. Personally I would want to have that be one part of it and then develop other systems for accounting and CRM (particularly because of the high price). I guess the decision comes down to weighing the costs and benefits of using such system(s). With Basecamp all that is done is project management (and to some extent contact management), it’s done well, and it’s done simply. With Quickbase you have the opportunity for so much more, that is if you want to develop it and pay the extra costs, which may be more than worth it for a larger organization.

  • If your enterprise is in need of a one-stop shop, reliable, scalable tool for the management of data and work-flow, Quickbase is the ideal candidate. Just make sure you have a plan going in or you might find yourself unsure of where to begin. Quickbase can do just about anything that requires the management of data.

  • QuickBase remains a very good option as a database solution for SMBs, but since our last review, the cloud app space has gotten far more competitive, and in some areas, QuickBase lags behind the competition.

However, some businesses may be wary of having their business processes and apps residing in the cloud, and as we witnessed when Intuit suffered wide-spread outages, if the service goes down, you don't have access to your database. For that reason, some businesses may prefer a hybrid Web/on-premise solution like FileMaker, which also has a more elegant and navigable interface. FileMaker also offers more features for enterprises with its Server edition such as Wan optimization to boost performance and 640-bit support.

Ultra-customizable, fast, and easy, Intuit's QuickBase is the only business-class online database to come from a long-established vendor that a cautious company can trust. Unlike many current cloud-computing services offered by no-name vendors, QuickBase is a product of the long-established financial-software giant Intuit.
