  • Very interesting tool/platform

We use the software for internal, and some external, project tracking and collaboration with clients. I also use it to track leads and customers for sales and account management, mainly to track tasks and follow ups. For the project tracking, each customer has their own workspace (something I'm still evaluating) so that client contacts can access their own information. We have built some custom apps to track details about the client and their software deployments, which is a great feature of Podio, and rather unique. We also store client files and documents within Podio so everyone can see them. We also use the mobile app, which is great to track when at a client site or if you don't have a laptop handy. The whole concept of the app marketplace and building your own is pretty well executed. Just starting to use some of the workflows, but so far they are useful.

Pros : Mobile app accessible anywhere app marketplace and app builder tool ability to easily modify apps as needed ability to relate across workspaces external collaboration is great can easily send email to lots of different areas to create a task, status update, etc

Cons : We use Office 365, so a tighter integration with that, similar to what they have with Google apps, would be great. Enhanced workflow would be good

    Too Flexible...

I've been using Podio almost since it was an startup. It was great to use it as a internal communication tool,.... however, if you need to go further on the project management and knowledge, or many other uses.. it gets complicated and limited. The way it's built allows for a lot of uses and applications, but none of them is the main purpose the application is built for, ... so in some part you will face the limitations.

Pros : Very easy to start and share with people

Cons : Needs a lot of configuration Lack of management reports to administrate the way the content is being used by specific people

Great - so long as you accept the quirks

Our company has been using Podio for a couple of years. A brief summary: - the concept is brilliant in its flexibility and ease of customisation - Podio team has their own view of the way things should be done, and if you dare to challenge their (somewhat quirky) logic, they'll politely reply "this feature is not in our plans for the moment". Conclusion: if you're prepared to accept lack of archiving, inability to manage access rights to items, not being able to set task reminders after completion date etc., you'll love Podio; if your aim is to adapt Podio to your current business process rather than adopt THEIR vision - you may find yourself rather frustrated, so don't start.

Pros : - Flexibility - Ease of customisation (so long as you stick to Podio's view of workflow) - Quick support response

Cons : - Some major quirks Podio are not willing to change - A general "stuck up" attitude by the vendor

  • Podio is one of my favorite things ever. There, I said it. It is so smart, sosophisticated, so practical, especially for small and medium-sized businesses. I love the fact that you can design it into almost any software tool, from a client manager to a project tracker to a company morale booster. It’s just flat-out practical in that way, especially considering how cheap it is.

  • Podio offers a lot for small businesses, especially those led by someone who has a very clear picture of how the business operates, and has the ability to map that structure into Podio. The tools are all there for building – it's figuring out how to map out your business with them that's hard. Entrepreneurs looking to centralise their workflow and communication into one non-email tool can really thrive with Podio.

  • What do you like best?

Since Citrix bought it, it's been getting even better! Now it has built in video conferencing (even free in the free Podio accounts). I also love all the pre-built packages you can "install" by just clicking to install them. Makes this tool very flexible and workable for most any team or company.

    What do you dislike?

Because of how flexible it is, administering it and getting it setup can be a bit difficult.

    What do you like best?

We used Podio while testing several solutions. Podio offers quite a few features and integrated apps to increase the productivity of Podio. There are workspaces and groups that you can organize people within your company with and there are quite a few different ways to create and manage tasks.

    What do you dislike?

While there are quite a few features, I think the interface is a bit complicated and there often seems to be too many ways to do one thing which makes it more confusing.

    What do you like best?

Podio is owned by Citrix and is a great way to share work documents, email, and notes with coworkers or project teammates. Only $9/employee but you can start with 5 users for free. Very easy licensing structure.

    What do you dislike?

    Nothing

  • Podio is pure awesome. It reminds of being a kid, in that every day was a new discovery. As sad as this may sound, I get a strange pleasure of looking round the app and discovering something new each time — I could spend a whole day talking about it and probably wouldn’t cover everything. It’s that flexible. Describing the app would require plenty of phrases that in most senses would be considered oxymoronic: simple yet powerful, clean yet full of features and cheap yet awesome.

  • No one loves apps more than we do as a tool for improving your productivity and making life easier. Podio will mean that I can roll up what I am doing in Trello, Zoho, CRM and Producteev into one product and at my level of business it is currently free. That is awesome. I don't think I've ever been happier. It's that good I would consider paying for it, even though its free.

  • This is really what made me profess my love for Podio. But with great technology comes great humans. Ideas are welcome, encouraged and praised no matter the employee’s role. You might have different workspaces with relevant team members but I recommend having at least one workspace for the entire team to have a coordinated workflow and conversations that reflect the quality of a live brainstorm session or team discussion. It’s better than an extension of your brain….Podio is at the core of an unified extension of multiple minds with powerful, unique fibers threads of thoughts working together.

  • I challenge you to toss out everything you know about cloud CRM and work management systems and give Podio a shot. Even SharePoint addicts may be pleasantly surprised about Podio, as it has a few tricks up its sleeve which Microsoft still hasn't figured out.

  • Podio offers a number of tried and true tools that are ideal for organizing information and completing projects. The application gives users one place to store contacts, schedules and other vital items. The pricing system is also simple and even offers a free version which small businesses can really appreciate.

  • Because of Podio’s intuitive interface and simple integration tools, virtually anyone can use Podio in a matter of minutes. Podio is best suited to those who run a small business where individuals need to keep in close contact with one another as they develop their work. It is also exceptionally well-suited to students who are engaged in group work projects. And because Podio offers a free basic option, students are able to make use of Podio’s collaboration experience at no cost.
