  • Our website design & marketing team was looking for a project management system that could handle simple communication between ourselves and clients, management of both simple and complex projects as well as management of project financials/budgets. After hours and hours of research, we found that Mavenlink was the only system available that could do all of the above. We've been very happy so far with Mavenlink and their development team's noticeably frequent improvements to it. We look forward to using it in the coming years and highly recommend it for teams that need to stay organized and possibly manage project financials as well.

Pros : - Best overall feature set out of all systems available on the market - Modern, ever-improving interface design

Cons : - Only a small con: The only hurdle we've had so far is that we are forced to use a separate system to handle our invoicing (due to our industry/billing needs) and Mavenlink is built to use either their inbuilt invoicing system and/or Quickbooks as the basis for invoice management.

  • While Mavenlink is limited in features and benefits for large organizations, it is a reputable project management solution for small teams and start-ups. Mavenlink constantly updates its software and has excellent security and support. Customers can access representatives any time to help them troubleshoot problems. The software is affordable for most businesses and integrates with common third=party applications to help these smaller organizations run smoothly.

  • This software earns a high rating on cost-benefit ratio. It allows you to do so many things, and it moves fluidly through the various available views. It’s key to note that it is so intuitive and user friendly, your team will pick it up easily. They won’t avoid using it because they can’t figure it out, and that alone puts it at the head of the class. Because it’s cloud-based, your team can use it from their various locations, and even if two people are using it simultaneously at different places, Mavenlink simply handles it.

The bottom-line recommendation is to jump right in and give Mavenlink a try. Even if you question whether you’re a project manager maven, it’ll make you feel like one.

Mavenlink was the primary project management tool that my company used for about three years. We were a company of 17 people and a couple freelancers that were located all over the world. Mavenlink was extremely useful for streamlining the project management and files storing process. You could create job folders with projects and tasks within each folder. Those tasks could be assigned to different users based off of what they were. Due dates could be assigned, and one task could like to another task which was a nice bonus.

In Mavenlink you had several different view options, you were able to look at a dashboard where users could comment, tag others, and upload files based off of what the project was. That was extremely helpful. You would also get an email notification if you were tagged in a comment, which helped in drawing your attention to that job, as sometimes depending on the number of uses the dashboard could become extremely overwhelming with a lot of conversations going on at once. You could also view your individual task list ordered by due date. As well as mark tasks not started, in progress, and complete.

Overall, MavenLink was great for streamlining projects and keeping things in one place. You could also track time right there within the system which was nice. There were some drawbacks, though, one being there was a ton of data entry for whoever was the point person on the software. The software was not always quick to load and sometimes would not function at all. The support was fairly quick to get back to us with solutions, but not as attentive as we would have liked when we have client deadlines dependent upon the software functioning.

All things considered, it's great for small and medium-sized companies, which is what it was designed for. Price is competitive, and functionality is good. I would recommend.

    Pros :

    • Easy to use.
    • Streamlines communication.
    • Can track time right there in project.
    • Personalized task list.

    Cons :

    • Slow to load sometimes.
    • Seemed like the system was always down for maintenance.

I knew Mavenlink with our participation with a customer, they use it very much. We were trying to convince them to use Jira, I just find it more useful, but there was no way... At least, we don't use Mavelink either, The customer preferred to use Excel over Dropbox (a solution that I hated, because the lack of synchronization, coordination, ...).

When I wanted to return to Mavenlik to evaluate a possible adoption, I found it very "not of this days" the necessity to use a demo account, free for 10 days, ... I prefer the use of a few tools free forever for the approach like Jira, Glip, Bitrix24, ... Etc.

    Pros :

    • It seems to be very business oriented, I´d like to try one of this solutions.

    Cons :

    • I don´t know how to evaluate a solution like this in 10 days!!!

Mavenlink is a great project management tool. I've used over 5 project management tools and Mavenlink was one of the most intuitive platforms. It took me a few days to fully understand how to use all of the features, however after diving into the platform, it was extremely easy to use. The team and clients were pleased with the communication and the way deliverables were submitted within the platform. I have successfully managed and completed over 50 projects within Mavenlink.

    Pros :

    • Mavenlink makes it easy to duplicate project templates and has a great way of organizing tasks and milestones within a specific client project. It's possible to assign a task to multiple users and to specify the amount of time per task.
    • The budget tracker provides a great overview of the amount spent per project for easy analyzing at the end of the week/month.
    • As a project manager, it was great to have the team upload all files within each task and to be notified of each item for me to go in and approve.
    • It was easy to grant specific permissions to different users, which is particularly important when working with several contractors.
    • Within discussions, it is possible to mention users and loop them into the conversation.
    • If I ever ran into a problem on the platform, there was always someone on the chat pane to answer my questions.
    • My colleague left several feature recommendations, and they were actually implemented a few months later.

    Cons :

    • Oftentimes the platform would take a long time to load and would freeze while expanding or minimizing tasks.
    • Also, when additional text was added under a task description, users wouldn't be notified of changes to the description. It wasn't possible to see who revised a task or at what time the change occurred.
    • The platform was also slow when making changes on a task or milestone level.
