EPM Live Use Cases and Deployment ScopeWe brought this product in-house with the plan to use it across the company but it is only used by our Information Technology group at this time. We use it to keep track off almost all projects company-wide. The hope was to use it for capacity planning, cost planning and eventually the tool our Steering Committee would use for their meetings.
Pros : If you just want basic information on your projects, a place to keep the information, this system will work for you.It is good for mini projects like Service Request
Cons : You have too many steps to make what should be simple changes like closing a project or service request.Additional cost required for necessary reports, changes made to the system like adding a new Status or emailing a status reportCan take weeks or months to resolve a ticket when it's turned in, lots of back and forth with their help desk. Told numerous times it the problem is our internet browser, our settings only to discover it was a problem on their end.Not as user friendly as they lead you

EPM Live is an excellent choice for executives and project managers who have outgrown the PM tools SharePoint provides. EPM provides advanced risk-assessment tools, capacity planners, what-if simulators, prioritization filters and financial tools. EPM Live licenses can be deployed in any manner required by your company's IT compliance requirements.

If you think you can afford it, I suggest giving EPM Live a serious trial. The benefits of using this software outweigh the few negative features (like the lack of mobile apps), and I have not encountered even one current user who regrets their choice. I don’t get excited about project management programs very often, but I think this one is pretty special.

With EPM Live, it does not matter what kind of business you are running. This tool will always be relevant for your business. This is in terms of communication with your clients and employees, planning of projects and managing of projects, resources and tools.

In conclusion, EPM Live is an impressive solution that sits on SharePoint and provides a comprehensive solution of Enterprise Project Management and Work Management for the masses. Its dashboards, processes, and flows help build the utopia that executives have long been looking for. With over 5,000 existing customers and more than 14 years of experience in the Project Management space, this solution is very rich and backed by a solid company that’s in it for the long haul.
When looking for our PPM solution we had three requirements´?¢ must integrate with SharePoint, we needed a quick deployment and needed to create more visibility for all stakeholders. EPM Live met all of these requirements and more. EPM Live is built on SharePoint, allowing us to use familiar functionality and reducing the time of training throughout our organization. Deploying their quick start option we received instant visibility across all projects and work to monitor projects on key dimensions and reduce risks while keeping stakeholders informed
My company implemented MS SharePoint about a year ago but found it wasn't the total PPM system we were hoping it to be. We decided to bring in EPM Live's WorkEngine to improve our resource capacity planning and visibility. It also brought all critical business information into one central location so our executives and project managers are able to see the information they require to make strategic business decisions and manage project portfolios.
Pros : I have found WorkEngine to be very user friendly. It allows all users of all maturity levels to work successfully on their tasks. Specifically what I value is the resource management, the ability to collaborate with team members and reporting options
Cons : Sometimes the pages load slowly

Overall, EPM Live looks to be a very robust application. I’m sure it would take a few months to get it up and running with the right templates for your organizational needs, followed by several more months of moving existing data sets into the new system. If money was no object, I would choose EPM Live.
