SpamFighter solves what a lot of people hate. No not vegetables but spam mail! Spamfighter can diagnose PC issues, making your computer go faster and prevent you from getting all that pesky jump mail that you may or may not have even signed up for yet! I spent a few minutes deciding when was the worst era of spam mail. About 10-15 years ago there were not that many "spam fighting" software solutions and the tech companies were really just starting to book. But now people are smarter, Outlook is much better and allowing its users to block emails out. I just block everything and every sender from what I don't need. Other emails that have been open for 15 years are much different, though :)
Pros : One of my favorite things about SpamFighter is that you can use it on your PC and Mac. I have a PC for my work and my mom's computer, and then I have a Mac that I use for myself, and my wife uses it for her email too.Spamfighter blocks almost each spam email and very rarely messed up by slipping in something that will annoy you. It is free, so that is always good!
Cons : What I think aggravates most people is that insert ad footer at the bottom of your emails that tells everyone you are using it. Honestly, that may not be a big deal for some, but many people have spent a long time on their email signatures, and they don't want their spam filter to make their email look "spammy" and that is kind of ironic! Some say you may not need this because what I do in my Outlook is I just block every single email that comes in that is not for work. Also, as a quick tip what I do is to make a different email for junk/advertisement/sign up things you do for companies or promotion. I also many an email that I just give for serious purposes that I know when I get an email then it is for something important!
These days, the hard drive are getting bigger and bigger, often in combination with an SSD and/or an external drive. You may use many Software to Sync and Backup all your data, but, at the end of the day, you don’t want to reinstall your computer, it is too time-consuming. Having a good view of your hard drives health is very important, because you should see sign before the disk die. This is why S.M.A.R.T interface exist (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology). But what do you do with the S.M.A.R.T alerts? Do you monitor your event logs? If you are like me, you only review your event logs when you have problems, and it’s too late. Acronis, is a company, known for their True Image backup software, developed a tool to monitor those counters. This is Acronis Drive Monitor. Note that True Image is worth a try. You can configure the tool to send E-Mail notification when alerts pop, maybe to alert yourself, or maybe to alert your geek family member or neighbor that will take care of it. Sometimes, the popups pop when my kids are playing on the computer, and I will never see it. Thanks to Acronis for emailing me. You can also receive reports of your disk health, but in my cause, too many alerts mean rules creation and lose of information. There is a temperature monitor of the disk (for the supported disks) that will warn when the temperature is too high, but the only times it happened to me, I’ve ignored it since I was working and didn’t want to “stop” doing what I was doing. I disabled those alerts. You can make a choice which disks you want to monitor, but I my opinion… all disks matter. There is a backup monitoring embedded in the tool, a way to say “Buy Acronis True Image please”.
McAfee was a great program. It was my anti-virus and firewall for the longest time. It was cheap and effective. Now, while it still isn't too costly, it has a very bad reputation. Bloat and spyware have been found in its file, and while my usage of it was during the times before and after this issue was addressed, it is still a very important thing to bring up as extra software that is harmful to the user or unnecessary most be known to any who may purchase it in the future, in case McAfee tries to sneak it in again. It still does have some favorable parts to it though; however, I can't recommend this software in the slightest. There are better free and paid programs that stop viruses more effectively while also not having spyware hidden in the files.
It is a firewall, and it does its job fairly well. Its hard to say whether Window's Defender of McAfee helped me more though. It is available for tablets and smart phones which is good, considering more and more information is being stolen from mobile devices as opposed to desktops. Virus protection on a mobile device is incredibly advantageous, even if said anti-virus isn't the best. It is still a defense. This goes for Apple and Android devices alike. Tech support is also free, so if a virus does infect a computer, someone can potentially help a user go through the steps of removing it. A nice little feature that comes bundled together with everything.
The biggest con is the risk of spyware and bloatware on your machine because of McAfee Antivirus Plus. Many people have found that McAfee installed other software along with the firewall. This is a huge problem. How can one trust their firewall if their firewall has a bunch of extra unwanted files that can pose a risk to one's computer or just fill up hard drive space with useless programs. The firewall itself isn't that best either. While using it, McAfee has given me false positives in the past while also letting virus get past its own defense. Luckily, Windows caught it before my system could get infected.

SPAMfighteris an excellent program for computer users who run at least one of the supported desktop email clients. Its core features are the cloud based approach to identifying new spam messages and the filtering system, especially the language filter. The program is easy to setup and use as it integrates automatically with supported email clients. Experienced computer users will find the whitelisting and blacklisting of email addresses and domains useful, inexperienced users that it works very well right of the box.More about SPAMfighter

McAfee 2015 was a disappointment for us. With too many issues like tech support costs and a weak interface, this version is a letdown, particularly after a poor showing last year, too. Even though it includes a software firewall and an excellent vulnerability scanner, the value of those things doesn't outweigh the overall virus protection which was average in most areas. As a leader in the antivirus industry, McAfee could—and should—deliver a stronger product.More about McAfee Antivirus Plus

Though McAfee AntiVirus has been installed on millions of consumer computer products, it lacks a few features that other programs offer expertise in. The AV-Test results show that the antivirus software is acceptable protection, but not really praiseworthy.More about McAfee Antivirus Plus
