AirParrot is a clever tool which adds makes it possible to stream whatever you see on your Mac or PC’s display to your Apple TV, wirelessly. This is already an interesting tool, but future updates are likely to increase its appeal even further.

AirParrot is like having a 50-inch monitor for your computer. If you have a Windows PC or an old Mac and an Apple TV, you’re missing out on a lot of fun and potential by opting against AirParrot. As seen from our tests, you’ll be able to mirror anything except hardcore games from your computer to the HDTV and enjoy them from the living room.

AirParrot brings one of the best new features of Mountain Lion to older Macs: AirPlay Mirroring. We gave the app a try on our 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo Unibody MacBook from early 2009, and color us impressed--it worked like a dream. When I bought my AppleTV a few months ago, AirParrot was the app I was most looking forward to using. The dream of watching Hulu on the big screen so seamlessly seemed almost to good to be true, and while AirParrot’s performance does leave something to be desired, I’m still largely in love with the app.
