  • WordStream Use Cases and Deployment ScopeIt was being used to look at ways to optimize accounts, highlight wins and losses. It helps when you manage so many different accounts in managing the results and recommendations. We would use it to narrow down on keyword bidding and find out what keywords were spending too much. You can of course do all of this on your own, however, this really does help you streamline your review.

  • If you’re looking for the quickest and cheapest way to audit your PPC account and get a pretty good overview of where you stand in your industry, look no further than the AdWords Grader. These recent updates have added a new layer of usefulness to the tool and sharpened up the existing features. However, for a deeper look into your account and an analysis of your PPC strategy you still can’t beat doing your own thorough audit.

  • What do you like best?

    The Wordstream 20 minute workweek is a huge time-saver. It gives me high priority alerts that I can quickly address without having to get lost in the AdWords interface.

    What do you dislike?

    The UI could use a little updating but it doesn't detract from the rich features.

    Whether you're a newbie to managing Adwords struggling to get your head around the complexities to maximize your ROI or if you're a seasoned veteran looking for a software to save you some time on your PPC duties - Wordstream is a ripping solution.

    I was initially taken aback by the cost as the entry level plan is confronting if you don’t fully appreciate what it can do for you. But after taking a trial and then signing up and embarking on some basic training as part of their onboarding process, it was clear to see that this was going to maximize my ROI and save me time while doing it. But if you're only managing a small budget then it's not going to be for you.

    Its 20-minute PPC work week feature runs you through a few simple steps to add negatives, find keywords to add, optimize your bids, optimize your ads, and pause duplicates if they exist. Even if you're only going to use this one feature to manage your PPC, then you've saved yourself a whole lot of time.andnbsp; But beyond that you can manage your campaigns as you would from Adwords and if you want to invest more time than the 20 minute work week, then you should definitely monitor the Query Stream feature to find even more negatives to refine your bidding.

    Wordstream also has landing page templates, and you can set your conversion goals and start utilizing their scheduled reports. An absolute must for anyone managing search-based Adwords campaigns.

    Pros :

    • The interface, in general, is easier to use than the native Adwords and Wordstream saves a ridiculous amount of time by finding new keyword opportunities to add and other keywords to place as negatives.

    Cons :

    • It would be fantastic for Wordstream to provide the same campaign optimizing features to more than just Adwords search. The Shopping Campaign feature has been in BETA for what seems a long time now, and it's not something that does much for me. andnbsp;

    Wordstream is very easy to use for beginners but also provides the in-depth requirements that an experienced PPC manager needs. It allows you to manage all your paid search campaigns in one place at an in-depth level. It allows all aspects of optimizations and makes changes to the account easy and simple. Wordstream is perfect for companies of all sizes but especially for small businesses. It allows such easy and support that a lot of small companies usually don't have the time for. Wordstream is also one of the easiest platforms to learn.

    Pros :

    Wordstream also provides a tool called 20-minute work week. I still believe that you should spend more than 20 minutes a week on your paid search accounts, this provides optimizations and tasks that are very beneficial to your campaigns. The 20 minute work week is perfect for beginners to help them structure their optimizations while still giving the guidance that is needed.

    Our customer service specialist was wonderful in answering all our questions and it was very evident that they cared about our success. They are available often and are very aware of the learning curve that some face. They spend as much time as you might need to ensure that you fully learned the product.

    Cons :

    • Wordstream is very easy to use but it is also important that you know how Adwords works and go through their courses to ensure that you fully understand what is going on.
    • Some of the features, such as geo, which are more easy to use in the engine UIs, so Wordstream needs to work on those features.
    • The API can also lag and cause delays in sending.
    • There are times where it takes too long to process updates.
    • It also doesn't work with all aspects of search, such as display and Facebook.
    • Depending on your budget, it could be expensive as well.

    Wordstream is the best known PPC optimization tool in the market. Larry Kim, the founder, and CTO has also made a name for himself as a PPC expert. The Wordstream Adwords performance grader is a great free tool that they offer as a way to get an initial experience with their service, which does a review of the account, gives it a grade and identifies areas for improvement. It's impressive that Wordstream exclaims that they help convert 60% more leads and cost 10% less. Converting 60% more at 10% less cost is actually an overall 80% improvement in profitability, nearly double, which is pretty huge in the competitive space of Adwords, which is an auction driven market. That's not just a slight edge, that's a major edge, in which you can use to afford higher bids, better positions, and actually lower PPC costs over time-based on the way Google favors long-term higher spenders to get lower CPC costs. One of the best ways to manage cost on an Adwords campaign is by managing the negative keyword list, which is kind of hidden in Adwords. By adding negative keywords, your ads won't show up or get clicks on irrelevant searches that don't convert. Wordstream helps identify these negative keywords as part of its 20-minute workweek.

    Pros :

    • Free Adwords Grader.
    • Great Adwords optimization server for small businesses and web agencies to save them more.

    Cons :

    • A little expensive at $229/m to start.
    • You need to know what you're doing with Adwords to make the best of it.
    • Comes with experience and training.
