ToutApp aspires to solve the repetitive email problems efficiently. The app is useful for users who send a large number of outbound emails that have similar content. By signing up for ToutApp, and integrating it with your Gmail account, the app will analyze your emails and categorize the different types of mass emails you send. If you are an entrepreneur, ToutApp will separate your email pitches to investors from your email pitches to journalists, for instance.

Additionally, you can send emails to your contacts by simply choosing one of the templates that have been pre-created on ToutApp, and adapt the content based on the contact in various fields.

In addition, ToutApp includes a host of extra features for email, including the ability to track clickthroughs, views, schedule emails and more. Your CRM contacts and recorded emails, clicks, and opens, will automatically be synced by ToutApp.

  • ToutApp Use Cases and Deployment ScopeI used and oversaw the usage of ToutApp in my previous job. We used it to help with our outbound sales with our business development reps to email leads, follow up, and close deals. It was a great way to manage the whole outbound sales cycle for our company. It was also very helpful because we had a very lengthy sales cycle that would last sometimes between 9-12 months.

  • What do you like best?

    The user interface is awesome, good tracking of emails, web links and attached content. It takes the functionality of two tools we used previously and brings them together.

    What do you dislike?

    Compared to other similar products I have used its easier and better, no complaints.

  • ToutApp is cool. If I wasn’t spending way too much money on Hubspot, this would be a perfect sales tool. ToutApp is a feature rich and cost effective enhancement to the business email client you already use. It’s designed for the sales professional and integrates easily with Salesforce.com. Used properly, it can greatly increase the efficiency and effectiveness in an area where everyone (and salespeople in particular) spends much of their day.

    From what I've experienced so far, ToutApp is a great tool to have in your back pocket; particularly for helping to manage one's sales team (Inside Sales / Business Development teams in particular, given the typically high volume of outbound emails they deal with each and every day).

    A terrific platform for being able to create email templates and easily apply contacts directly to the campaign, allowing for quick and easy drip and nurture initiatives. The amount of time saved really opens the door for more proactive engagements, providing added focus to key prospects that are in a more mature buying phase, while also continuing to nurture and educate those that aren't quite ready to get the wheels in motion yet.

    Pros :

    • Easily create and distribute email campaigns amongst employees and team members.
    • Schedule outbound emails using an array of templates, campaigns, etc.
    • Easily track various statuses of the emails being nurtured within the platform, being privy to details such as (but not limited to): open rates, click rates, conversion rates, etc.
    • Effectively increases the number of people that a sales team is able email; as opposed to people spinning their tires by not getting the maximum efficiency and touch points out of their campaigns.
    • Easily compare various campaigns and templates to better resolve and make adjustments for ongoing improvements.
    • A nice and clean Salesforce.com integration that connects the dots between systems.

    Cons :

    • A bit annoying when people use an alternate email to respond to the campaigned emails as it skews the results a bit and requires some manual work to connect those folks back into the system for tracking.
    • Not overly Mac friendlyandnbsp;(MacMail or Outlook for Mac) so unless your sales team is utilizing Windows products exclusively there may be some pain points (though if you're leveraging Salesforce.com the integration will solve much of the pain).

    ToutApp was used as part of our partnership with an external lead generation company. The tool was straight forward and provided decent metrics around our results once campaigns had been launched, though the first few campaigns didn't show properly in the system for some reason.andnbsp; No matter, the lead gen company figured out the glitch, and we were able to see click rates, etc. finally. As a secondary user, the tool seemed pretty straight forward, it could have been a bit more intuitive though and might offer more robust features.andnbsp; The cost vs. features don't seem in line either, a bit expensive for what you get.

    Working with an outside company, who primarily ran ToutApp, it was very frustrating as we attempted tracking down issues with the email campaigns going out. The ability to track who received what and why clients weren't removed from future campaigns automatically was very frustrating and resulted in some nasty and rude emails (to our company, from those who had been on a specific mail campaign and asked to be removed).andnbsp;

    From an interface perspective (and as noted), the tool seemed pretty straight forward though the visual (product skin) could be updated to something more fresh and exciting. After all, this is supposed to be fun work, we aren't complete this work from a dungeon (right?). The interface also speaks to usability of the solution and the circular feel we had when logging in to check up on the status of things (metrics, etc.).

    In all, this offering might be a good fit for some, I wouldn't stop here, though. Definitely, check out your alternate options and compare the pros and cons.andnbsp; Get someone to provide a demo and to prove the ease of use, a demo always makes it look/seem so easy.

    Pros :

    • Allows you the ability to run a direct email marketing campaign without too much headache.

    Cons :

    • Cost vs. value, could be less expensive or more robust for what you actually get.
