Eloqua is definitely a powerful tool when it comes to email marketing with all the functionality and metrics you can use. It also works well with other tools like Salesforce and SnapApp. The tool is very difficult to use and requires a lot of manual work to set up email templates as well as landing page templates.

Pros :

  • The reporting metrics in Eloqua are very advanced compared to Hubspot.
  • It is easy to report on real revenue using this tool.
  • In addition, the amount of apps that integrate with the tool is amazing.
  • There is a wide selection of free apps you can use like ReadyTalk, Contact Washing Machine, Campaign Manager, etc.
  • It integrates with other tools like Demandbase, SnapApp, Cisco WebEx, Brightcove, etc.

Cons :

  • Even with the newest upgrade building forms in Eloqua is a long and difficult process.
  • It requires some coding knowledge to build forms and landing pages in the tool.
  • Compared to a Hubspot it takes triple the time to build a form or a landing time.
  • You save so much time, headaches and stress using a tool like Hubspot. In addition, Hubspot has much better support then Eloqua does.
  • The support feature is built right in the Hubspot tool, so you don’t have to call or email anyone if you don’t want. You can just open a support ticket up right in the tool, and you will then receive a response via the tool.
  • Eloqua also requires a ton of mapping steps that are very time-consuming. For instance, when you build a campaign you need to associate the form with it as well as the landing page, this process takes much longer than compared to Hubspot.
  • Setting up the integration between Salesforce and Eloqua is which more time-consuming than Hubspot.
  • You have to manually map every form field in Eloqua with Salesforce where Hubspot automatically maps most of the fields for you.

I would like to be able to avoid an overly positive review on this product to avoid scrutiny, but I have only the best things to say about its period. The customer service team is impeccable; the user-interface is flawless, fluid, easy and enjoyable to use; the functionality is jaw-dropping, and the ease at which you can use the software even if you're inexperienced is incredible.

Pros :

  • Pardot syncs with Salesforce impeccably, and it seems as if this was a match made in heaven.
  • This allows us to create reports and monitors analytic with ease and complete clarity, and our lead transfer and conversion process goes very smoothly.
  • I know if we schedule an email blast or marketing effort with Pardot, that the job will get done, and the results will be clear and leads waiting in the queue for our team to qualify and pursue in the morning.
  • It is also easy to set up a mini campaign or “drip” campaign for email marketing at the drop of a dime and get the results of interaction with a target audience.
  • My organization will often times create the appearance of an email blast effort for 100 or less contacts, and allow us to focus on key targeted individuals behavior to understand how they are interacting with our company’s content and analytics on conversion from that particular effort.
  • It is possible to embed a cookie within a simple email like detailed below, and you can track the interaction of that prospect ongoing with your website (yours only, not anything they do, obviously).

Cons :

  • The ONLY complaint I have about Pardot is more of a convenience one; in that it can take a long time (sometimes 24 hours ) to upload a lead / contact list of recipients into Pardot to engage them in a campaign.
  • This isn't usually an issue because we schedule our releases well in advance, but if anything ever comes up where we need to issue something NOW, we can be left without a paddle in that respect, and forced to release it ourselves in the old fashion way.

It’s a good value, despite the relatively high cost. If you can handle the learning curve, it’s a good investment. Eloqua has top-notch features and support, and customers tend to think that despite the price, it’s a good value. Once you master the learning curve, the possibilities are limited by your personnel—not the product.

Pardot comes across as a very impressive top end lead management and email marketing automation system. It is well worth investigation for a mid to large organisation looking to develop lead nurture.
