Mac users are not spoilt for variety of applications. In fact, it's not easy to find the good FTP-client with the rich feature set and stable performance. Transmit is a pleasant exception to the rule. The program stores iDisk and Bonjour connections, stores connection history and contains a folder for bookmarks. Selected connections are synced via MobileMe, so you will have identical connections on all your Macs. There is the unique Places feature. Places are shortcuts to different folders within the FTP connection. This means that you can save bookmark for each remote or local environment. It is possible to synchronize folders using the Transmit. The direction of synchronization may be configured. The user also can add some additional options, such as deleting old documents and determining changed files. Transmit even allows to simulate synchronization in order to ensure that the settings are correct. Transmit provides the ability to mount the FTP connection in the Finder (using MacFUSE). Your connections appear on your desktop, and you can easily move, delete and modify files on the server as if they were in your system. Since MacFUSE is responsible for all of the connections, there is no need to start Transmit. If you activate the `Transmit Disk menu` feature, you can connect and disconnect the drives right from the menu bar of OS X. Transmit also supports Droplets and DockSend features. Droplets are small pre-configured applications designed for the automatic file uploading into the predefined directory on the server. Just move the file to the droplet, and it will be automatically uploaded into the folder you want. DockSend feature allows you quickly upload files to a directory on the server by dragging and dropping these files on the Transmit icon in the Dock.
In the overcrowded space of cloud services, there is not much room for new companies offering more of the same thing. There are literally hundreds of services which offer file storage and sharing capabilities, and very few of them have unique features which set them apart from the competition. One would, therefore, think that Jumpshare is just another cloud-based file sharing service. However, it is not just a normal file sharing service - it is one of the fastest ways (if not the fastest) of sharing large files with other users. It is, therefore, the best suited for power users who often need to share large files with other users, and do not concern themselves much with actually keeping files online for use later on.While Jumpshare offers the same functionality as Google Drive, Dropbox and other services, its main selling point is being able to share files with other users very quickly, through an extremely quick workflow. This is accomplished by generating a shareable link as soon as a file is dragged and dropped onto the Jumpshare taskbar icon - i.e. before the file is even uploaded. This hence allows users to share a link to a file before it is even uploaded.Screenshots can also be automatically uploaded and a link shared to the clipboard. Users can then view most files in the browser itself, through an excellent viewer. For users who don't want to download a desktop application, Files can be dragged and dropped on the website too. Finally, triggers are available so as to customise what happens when a file is dragged and dropped into Jumpshare, such as sending the link by email straight away. Jumpshare is not without limits, though - individual files cannot be larger than 250MB within the free plan, unlike Dropbox and Google Drive. Furthermore, the free plan only grants users 2GB of space, which contrasts greatly with services like Box.net.

Transmit 4 is almost perfect. I say almost because perfection doesn't exist, so my almost is a symptom of something that truly stands out and, basically, has no competitors. It's beautiful.I don't think I've seen such a great looking piece of software gracing my Mac recently. Transmit 4 is what we love about Mac OS X.More about Transmit

These days, you can share files using all of the different cloud storage providers like Dropbox and OneDrive, but if all you want is a super easy way to share files with people, Jumpshare might be worth a look.More about Jumpshare
