  • We have used a cloud based VOIP system for many years and switched to RingCentral nearly 3 years ago now. We have been very happy with the service and features of this application. The software support for the application includes a Desktop App that allows you to use your computer as a communication device and message center, a Google Apps extension that works very well with Gmail, Google Calendar etc. The support for Android and iPhone devices is also very robust allowing your staff to use their own phones as company extensions. I doubt you would find a provider more plugged into the mobile world than RingCentral. Our office uses the service on both traditional VOIP handsets as well as the other software options on smart phones and desktops. This is a great solution for organizations with multiple locations or mobile employees. Highly recommended.

Pros : Software support for multiple devices and computers. Good tech support Very Flexible setup.

Cons : Can be costly depending on number of users and feature set desired.

  • Ease-of-use

It's easy to access, and it does what you would expect. The first couple of versions did not seem to operate with the iPhone very well, but more recent versions have been much more stable.

    Functionality

It enables a great way to stay in touch via mobile even when out of the office.

    Product Quality

Quality has been very good except for the refresh issue.

    Customer Support

I have not personally called support, but my operations folks have. All questions have always been answered to satisfaction.

    Likes Best

It's a simple application for using mobile to connect to other co-workers straight to their internal line or for sending texts to them. It's also easy to listen to voice messages while out of the office.

    Likes Least

Sometimes, the refresh does not occur after listening and clearing out voice messages. Occasionally, it takes having to shut the app down and restart for the refresh to occur.

    Recommendations

We have been using RingCentral for over three years now and are quite happy.

  • Whether you’re one of the SMEs / SMBs who’re eager to set up a VoIP platform for the first time, or strongly considering switching to a cloud-based communication system, RingCentral might just be what you need. With RingCentral, you get a flexible VoIP service on the cloud – complete with all the traditional and advanced calling features, and it won’t suck your business’ finances dry.

RingCentral is a great tool for offices who have needs beyond merely having a desk line. RingCentral provides analytics and data that show your employees' productivity, identified peak call times, and meeting / conference lines that are easy to use and set up presentations or collaborative sessions on. For an environment where there is a business development or inside sales team, the analytics collected by RingCentral pay for the subscription alone by helping to identify the best way to point their efforts.

    Pros :

    • It is very accessible throughout multiple devices such as tablets, cell phones, etc. It is a cloud-based software which allows accessibility throughout any device with an internet connection, therefore making it convenient to use "on the road" and eliminating the need for you to be glued to one location or your office.
    • The conference lines that RingCentral makes available to users are very high-quality and easy to distribute.
    • Their invite feature synchs well with calendars such as Outlook, and that can really assist with scheduling efforts of someone who is always on the go and not glued to a monitor at a desk.

    Cons :

    • It is difficult to access voicemails and the contact information for people internally in your organization, and that can be very frustrating. If you have an Android device, it also proves difficult to scroll through their page entirely, and their support staff is not too terribly knowledgeable about their own product and often deflected blame onto a different development team altogether within their organization.
    • One of the resounding complaints I’ve heard and experienced myself using this software is the fact that you can pick the receiver up to dial a number and if you happen to hesitate or get distracted mid-dial, it rings out immediately without you confirming you are ready to place the call. If you are in a heavy outbound environment, it can be pretty frustrating for this to happen and to clean up the data reports on outbounds for an individual each day if your organization tracks this metric.

We implemented RingCentral's cloud-based phone system for our live music venue. It is very easy to deploy and manage,  and users love it because of its ease of use for end users. A lot of functionalities are available, softphone for laptop/cell phone, voicemail, conferencing, fax, etc. The Web Management console is pretty self-explanatory and powerful for reporting and managing users and lines. RingCentral is well suited for small businesses that want to deploy a powerful phone system rapidly and efficiently. The cost for this service is reasonable and gets you up and ready in no time. I like that you can have different types of phones within your business (cell phones, desk phone, conference phone) and how easy it is to assign lines to users. RingCentral appeared to be the best bang for the buck compared to other services. It offers the most features at the most competitive price. Also, user reviews were good and contributed a lot to making the final decision. I also manage a dedicated private PBX from NEC, and it is nowhere near as easy to manage.

    Pros :

    • Call routing is really easy to set up and very customizable.
    • Conferencing features are well made and fast to implement within our organization.
    • Love to be able to manage all services from the phone App.
    • Also can make calls, receive texts, etc.
    • with the RingCentral App. Good ROI, deploying RingCentral in our organization was very cost effective considering the features we get.
    • Employees find the system easy to use and, therefore, are more productive.
    • Customers like our automatic phone attendant and always find the answers they need.

    Cons :

    • Faster quick dial between internal phone lines.
    • Technical support could be faster to respond to requests, especially when the system goes down which happens on rare occasions.
    • Technical team should deploy improved back-end servers to lower downtime.
