About Clickworker

We utilize the knowledge of the crowd to engage the know-how and labor of hundred thousands of clickworkers who assist us in the fast and efficient processing of projects for your company.

Our clickworkers are independent contractors who provide these services using their own computing equipment and schedule. They use a standard web browser to complete tasks on a piece rate basis. Most of these tasks are part of a larger, more complex, project.

Task coordination and oversight is conducted utilizing the technology of Clickworker, which provides the Internet-based workflow system. Project examples include the processing of unstructured data, such as text, photographs, and videos. We can create, categorize, append, capture, and translate.

A number of online platforms are available in the freelance market, such as Freelancer, Upwork, Guru, Elance, People Per Hour, and many others. Clickworker is one of them, and has been around for quite a while. From a customer's point of view (i.e. a business, entity or individual requiring work done), there are few differences between all the available platforms. The main differences lie in the websites' regulations, payment structures and features present for freelancers - i.e. what makes them attractive for freelancers, as opposed to other platforms. On the whole, Clickworker does not really offer much for freelancers, when compared with other websites. There are definitely not a substantial amount of reasons for freelancers to offer their services on Clickworker, as opposed to other websites such as Freelancer or Elance. The main difference between Clickworker and other freelancing sites is that tasks are almost all very simple to carry out, and require little effort. However, the pay is usually ridiculous - on average around $0.02 for a task lasting a few minutes. From the freelancers' point of view, tests need to be carried out before taking on tasks from a particular category, which can be a waste of time for freelancers, as this time can be better spent on other platforms taking on jobs and making more money. Furthermore, no matter how many skill tests are completed, the amount of jobs which appear on the dashboard are quite low and far between. This might be dependent on the location, however in my experience, there were only a few tasks available per week, worth no more than $1 in total. Whenever customer support was required from my end, it left a lot to be desired. Finally, there are a scary amount of spam task listings, as well as scams - some of which ask users to download applications which are obviously viruses. Clickworker therefore does not benefit freelancers, who should look elsewhere for work. Customers, however, can gain a lot from listing their tasks on Clickworker, as they can be assured that freelancers are really skilled in the task's respective category, since tests need to be carried out from their end before applying for tasks.

    Pros :

    • Customers can verify that freelancers are really skilled.

    Cons :

    • Tests are time consuming
    • The average pay on Clickworker is very low.
    • Amount of available tasks is very low.
    • Spam and scam tasks.
    • Terrible customer support.
