  • Simple and intuitive, Workday is designed for the way you do your business. There is no expertise needed to quickly accomplish your tasks. In addition, when you use the tool, there will be no more disruptive and complex upgrades. With this tool, you’re assured you are always using the most recent version.

  • Workday HCM Use Cases and Deployment ScopeWe implemented Workday just over a year ago. We went from a largely paper based system and a old legacy system that was not really designed to support HR processes. Our implementation lasted approximately 8 months as the result of a great team from LC and our implementation partners at Meteorix. Workday is used to manage human capital transactions related to employee onboarding, benefit enrollment, time and attendance tracking and payroll. Moving from paper has helped us clean up and refine our reporting as well as our work processes too!

    Pros : Onboarding: Putting everything related to an employee coming on board into one place makes it much easier for people to understand what is expected of them and for us to see what they have done and need to do.Benefits management: We did our first online enrollment a year ago and for the most part it went exceptionally well. Most of our employees had complained for sometime about the amount of paper they had to fill out for benefits enrollment each year and the previous system required navigating

    Cons : The training modules have greatly improved these were the weakest items when we went live a year agoGreater assistance on the need for culture change in organizations. Many organizations think they are buying an appliance and they're not prepared for the amount of organizational change that will ensue.Getting Workday financials might have made the implementation of the payroll piece a bit easier. We are still writing interfaces with our GL because that is on the old system.

  • Workday has made a real name for itself in cloud-based HR software and with added data analytics it packs a real punch . While there are still missing features, the new data analysis tools make this a flexible hub for cloud-based apps.

    I work in the recruiting field for a large global billion dollar company, and Workday is the main HR system for 100k employees. You can use for pretty much anything related from the user side for HR. For new users, it is easy to get up to speed with. Everyday I log into Workday, and it gives me a snapshot of everything that I would need on the HR side. I can suggest this product to anyone who is looking for a clear and concise outline for all things related to HR. If you need something specific to benefits, insurance, compensation, this is your go-to answer!

    Pros :

    • Very easy to use.
    • Can view anything from personal info, to pay, to time off, to HR policies, etc.
    • Customer/user interface is very easy to look at.
    • Makes overwhelming information easier to understand.
    • I also really like the option when you are clicking time off, at my job you have vacation time, floating holidays, company paid holidays and unlimited incidental days. The good thing with WorkDay is they have you a very clear and easy way to drop down.
    • Other software that I have used makes it very confusion to figure out how to take vacation time, but its vacation and that should not be that difficult!
    • With WorkDay, you are able to see time off balance, how much you used, and one of the best features in WorkDay is that you can see how much you will have added up at the end of the year or in a few months from now.
    • Say it’s the summer which now it and is, and you want to see how much time you will have by Christmas, it will tell you that!

    Cons :

    • Not really any cons. I also use Taleo which I believe we are eliminating it to use more for Workday.
    • So my only cons would be the limited functionality of having it as a main application tracking system or customer relationship management tool.

    Workday is a wonderful tool that allows you to view your HR information without having to contact your HR department. Within my environment, I have the ability to select and view my benefits, select and view my withholding and payment elections, request a day off and view time-off balance, and view or change my personal information. There is an option to set a professional development plan and goals, and view my progress. It is also customizable to add other views, such as corporate info, directory, payroll, timesheets, and even run custom reports.

    Pros :

    • This tool is very user-friendly and easy to navigate. I can elect my benefits and request time off with just a few clicks of my mouse.
    • It's nice being able to view my current elections and cost without having to call my HR department and wait several hours, sometimes days, on an answer.
    • I can also view past elections to determine what changes I have made, as well as the previous cost, making it easier for me to determine what I need and what I can get decline.
    • It is also very handy to be ready to change withholding elections without having to fill out a form and send it to my HR department for processing, sometimes taking several pay cycles to take effect.
    • Most importantly is being able to request time off and getting it approved immediately, instead of having to go to my manager, request the time, fill out the necessary paperwork or send an email, and then waiting for approval.

    Cons :

    • Sometimes the views can be rather confusing. For example, when I go to view my benefits, the box with the links is below the change options.
    • Since electing benefits takes place only once a year and making changes happen even less often, it would make more sense to move the view options to the top of the list.
    • It's also important to remember to cancel the change options, rather than just closing the window.
    • Otherwise, Workday will not process your request, and you will receive a message every time you log in.
    • If you also want to delete reports, it takes three clicks, once to select it, a second to confirm the selection, and a third to confirm it has been deleted. It should take, at the most, two clicks.

    When I was using this software, it was new to the company after a very recent transition from UltiPro.andnbsp; I saw a huge improvement in some processes that I found very time-consuming with UltiPro.

    Pros :

    • A major pro with Workday is the fact that it makes an effort to limit the number of fields that you have to type into (which cuts most processes very short compared to the way it is in UltiPro).
    • The process of hiring someone in Workday consists of some drop-down menus which autofill the appropriate fields with the right information assigned to the options chosen in the drop-down menus.
    • When I was using this, I found the process very efficient. This also minimises errors since most fields end up being auto filled with pre-assigned figures and info.

    Cons :

    • My opinion comes from an experience of testing the site when it was new/new to the company and providing feedback to Workday with any remaining bugs. I found that even though the drop down menus and auto filling process was very efficient, no website is perfect, and there are constantly bugs. That being said, from an HR perspective, when you learn to trust the pre-filled information that can lead to issues.
    • Double checking is key because when it comes to a salary or a start date, these are errors that could make an impact on an employee, and that is why sometimes entering everything manually is preferred. However, there are always tradeoffs to both methods. andnbsp;

Designed from the scratch in Cloud platform for Generation Z with an excellent User interface which gives the feeling of a social media site rather than the traditional ERP experience 2. Easy to use and no need of remembering navigations as everything is based on search engine concept similar to Google 3. High customization is possible in HR business processes which makes the users more specific to the organizational needs and changed the concept of earlier ERP workflows which are highly complex to design 4. Extremely safe audit report for every bit of change in configuration, data changes, login, logoff, so easily compatible with high SOX compliance.

    Pros :

    • Easy to Access.
    • User-friendly UI.
    • Metadata level indexing for search functionality.
    • MIS is extraordinary with more user-friendly PIE charts and graphs.
    • Easy to adopt Report writer functionalities.
    • Well structured Integration path for Third party payroll.
    • High SOX compliance.
    • Good base for all HCM functions including core HCM, Talent, Compensation, Time and Absence, and Payroll and of course with Recruitment.
    • More flexible exit criteria in case of dissatisfaction.
    • More adaptable version upgrade cycles and,
    • Less time, Money and effort for implementation compare to traditional ERP cycles.

    Cons :

    • Not a matured solution and Time and absence.
    • Payroll PICOFF's still needs more functionalities in terms of retro calculations.
    • HR and FI integrations are not highly appreciable.
    • In-house payroll is available only for few countries.
    • Very restricted ECO system in terms of partners, customers and users.
