    Recurly Use Cases and Deployment ScopeWe use Recurly to handle all of our recurring subscription credit card transactions with all our clients. It is how we automatically bill our clients for our service each month. Currently our account management, sales, and engineering departments use Recurly. Recurly solves the problem of having to remember to charge our clients for service each month. It integrates into our payment processing service, and automatically runs transactions based on a pre-configured subscription. They support coupons, credits, refunds, prorated refunds, etc.

    Pros : Recurly is very easy to use. Their UI is very clean and intuitive, so my staff has no problem understanding how to handle payments in Recurly. They just released a new UI, which is currently in Beta, but does an even better job making the user experience great.Recurly really helps reduce the time involved in collecting payment from a client. They have a dunning process which detects when a transaction has failed, and automatically re-tries running the payment several times before giving up. Recu

    Cons : The coupons feature is a bit cumbersome. It can become tricky to set up, apply, and un-apply coupons for a particular client. If you have special billing cases where you discount for a few months or give a client service in any irregular fashion, using coupons can become tricky.We have a Referral Program with our clients where they receive a perpetual monthly discount for each client they refer to use.     "Recurly Review"

    Recurly Use Cases and Deployment ScopeRecurly is used in our organization as a reoccurring billing solution option for our customers. Recurly is used primarily in the accounting/finance department of the company. Recurly addresses the problem of maintaining numerous customers and being able to accurately billing them on a reoccurring basis.

    Pros : Recurly does a excellent job providing support and documentation for both the user-side of the program and the developer side of the program.

    Cons : Exporting reports is one area of Recurly that is lacking. In today's business world, accountants need the ability to easily custom make reports to be able to fit their business needs. Right now we must spend resources to pull numerous reports and reference them with each other to get the information we need.The ability to automatically prorate the 1st invoice and to be able to set default renewal date of for new subscribers would be a great feature to implement.

    Recurring billing. Trust Recurly.

    Recurly Use Cases and Deployment ScopeIt's used for recurring billing for one of our clients. The organization uses it to manage their subscription billing, as well as their general day-to-day billing needs. It addresses issues involving storage of sensitive data and PCI compliance, as well as provides a catch-all solution for billing without in-depth integration.

  • I am a fan of Recurly

    What do you like best?

    I had to learn Recurly for a job and I am glad I did. Recurly was easy to learn and very straight forward. I would recommend to a friend and would definitely use again..

    What do you dislike?

    Dislike I cant recall anything I disliked about the program.

    What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

    I used recurly for billing for our subscription based clients. I liked that you can name different categories within the program.

    Reviewing billing information

    What do you like best?

    Since I primarily only use the product when needing to get subscription/billing information about our customers, I do like how easy it is to navigate around the site and the reporting functionality.

    What do you dislike?

    I have heard from my colleagues who use Recurly much more frequently that there seems to still be occasional bugs, as well as, the support being not as helpful as they would prefer.

    What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

    Since I primarily use Recurly just as a source of billing information, and am not a primary individual in inputting/maintaining that information, I don't think I can say I am solving any problems. The benefit I can think of is the easy to maneuver interface allows me to grab information at ease.

    Recurly is fast and simple, once you learn it.

    What do you like best?

    Once you learn the software, it's easy and quick to get things done. Seeing past history on an account is clear. Our organization is easily able to give many different departments access and enough privileges to fully own our required tasks. Still, our Finance department can truly own billing and collections.

    If and when their have been issues with Recurly, their support has been thorough and their communications have been clear and helpful.

    What do you dislike?

    You definitely need training from someone else who has used it to learn it properly. It didn't seem intuitive or something I could learn on my own. Also I'd say about 15% of the time, the site is down, or I at least have to log in three or four times.

    If manual collection is used for certain invoices, you lose the ability to truly audit what a customer is seeing.

    Recommendations to others considering the product

    Make sure you obtain and document all necessary training before allowing all your users unsupervised access.

    What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

    We have a lot of small self-service users on our platform who change their subscriptions frequently. We have to be able to solve billing questions and issues in the Support and Success organizations without relying in Finance. Recurly helps us do that.

    Auditing past changes and maintaining transparency with our customers nicely aligns with the values of our own company. In a previous company, utilizing billing software was pursued as a monumental undertaking reserved for experts only.

  • Recurly rates as a solid recurring billing option for merchants. It offers transparent, low-commitment pricing and provides a host of features that may not be available through traditional payment gateways. The service is a good option for subscription-style businesses that are unable to purchase a competitively priced, feature-rich recurring billing option through their existing providers.

  • Takes care of it.

    Recproduct_urly has taken care of our recurring billing for two years and counting. We have multiple businesses running on the platform and have multiple recproduct_urly accounts. There product goes above and beyond when it comes to feature flow and figuring out those *next* pains they can solve.

    Pros : Dunning management Automatically update credit card expiration numbers Recurring rev reports Upgrade/downgrade/cancel API (hmmmm, so nice) Lots more that I'm not listing here...

    Cons : If you have multiple websites, you need multiple accounts (for cancellation templates, etc), no discount on second account for the fixed monthly Can't overwrite customer ID #'s once the customer is in the system One time purchasing not so good
