Toggl does it just what you need for time tracking without flooding the UI with unnecessary features. They seem to hide things and show things at the right time.
I started using Toggl as a time tracking tool, but then switched to Harvest because it integrates with Asana and is more feature rich. Toggl is a relatively basic tool. It's focus is on adding a task and tracking time. About the same thing you can do with your phone stopwatch app and a spreadsheet, so the value add there is minimal. However you can also organize by projects and track billable time. I paid the $5 Pro fee to add billable time. You can then also have more than 5 team members. Overall I felt it was too basic to suit my needs for a robust time tracking and billable platform, like I've found more so in Harvest.
Gripes I sent to Toggl support include:

aymo is the app I’ll be using to run my business starting next week. After searching for an app with a feature wishlist that is pretty much summarized by Paymo’s actual feature list, and an implementation that doesn’t make me hate time-tracking, I’m sold.More about Paymo

Cronsync is quite a nice way to quickly log time, and generate invoices online. It does lacks some of the features that some other time logging software like Time Doctor, and MapleXP offer. However, what I like most about Cronsync is its ease of use. If you are just using excels to log time, then Cronsync is a good next step, before you decide to move on to some other free employee timesheet software.More about Cronsync

Toggl is a leading time tracking program with an outstanding web interface. It lacks some core functionality of the competing products (auto-stop, auto-start and screenshot monitoring), so if you intend to use it primarily for employees working on PCs, consider Screenshot Monitor that has equally great web interface and gives you more features on the desktop. But if you do not need screenshot monitoring or have to have Mac, Linux or mobile support, as of 2014 Toggl is the best choice on the market for time tracking applications.More about Toggl
