With a corporate account, you can set up team members. This gives you the ability, as the admin, to assign credits, move credits and delete credits from each team member. You can also track credit usage for each member. This is helpful to track costs of the images you are purchasing for your projects. They allow a "Comp" download before you buy an image so you can try it out to make sure it will fit your needs before you purchase.

Pros :

  • With a corporate account, you can set up team members. This gives you the ability, as the admin, to assign credits, move credits and delete credits from each team member. You can also track credit usage for each member.
  • They allow a "Comp" download before you buy an image so you can try it out to make sure it will match with your needs before you purchase.
  • They also have audio and footage for your projects as well.
  • They also let you chose the size and quality you are looking for at different price points.
  • The corporate account allows you to buy bulk credit at discounts.
  • Their team is there to help you search and answer licensing questions you may have.
  • You have a "lightbox" that allows you to save images, footage, audio too so when you are searching and find files you like you can save them and go back to them for easy downloading or comparing later without having to redo a search.
  • When you find an image you like but not quite what you are looking for, they have a feature that allows you to browse similar images. Also, if you find an image with a model you like, you can also browse fro more images with that model or even that particular photographer.

Cons :

  • Images are not exclusive so others can download and use them as well.
  • You still need to make sure you select the correct licensing level you need before you download.
  • Many images are not categorized correctly so you do get some images in your searches that are not relevant to what you are looking for. andnbsp;

I have used Fotolia for some years, because, as a graphic designer, I need it for some project on advertising. Fotolia, in fact, is an international images database, and you can have access to a lot of images, as well as vector, graphics and video clips. All that can be used to create your projects, from posters, brochures, and presentations. The system is very simple, as you can see. From the home page, you can search the contents you interested too, among millions of images and graphics. By scrolling through the results, then you choose the image that you like, and you can download it with the watermark, to be sure it's fine for your project. Once you're convinced of this purchase, you can download the image itself on the size you want, and you're done!

Pros :

  • Very affordable prices, both for individual images, both for monthly subscriptions.
  • Being owned by Adobe, all contents are of high quality: it is, in fact, a large community of artists, designers, and photographers who can create their collections and share them with users.
  • You can choose various packages depending on what you need: monthly package, daily package, etc.andnbsp;
  • Once you buy all the images, you can download them whenever you want so that you can use them on different computer or devices.
  • Sometimes you can also download images free of charge in a constantly updated section.andnbsp;

Cons :

I have used this service for many years now, and I have to say that I have always found it very good. But I would like to say two small notes:

  • I think they could offer also music files, like jingles for advertising. I don't know exactly how it works for copyrights, but this could be just an idea!
  • I often found a lot of low-quality images, so I hope that we can make a big selection so that the service can only contain professional content.

Zenfolio offers a simplistic point-and-click system that makes it easy to create your own photography portfolio. High quality images and HD videos are displayed via beautifully designed galleries, alongside a blog, general website pages and even a built-inshopping cart fully equipped with marketing tools.

The key factor behind the success of 123RF is the low price offered to the buyers making it affordable for all irrespective buyers go through one-time purchase or subscription program channel. The website’s rewards program is a big temptation for its active users. Instead designers who are hunting for wide variety of original images.

It would be a bit of an exaggeration to call this site a watershed for microstock, but I'm certain a lot of people in the industry are watching this. For more of my thoughts on free stock images read my post "free microstock photos". PhotoXpress is a good example of a site attracting visitors with a collection of some 600k free images and then offering a couple of options to convert these visitors into paying customers i.e. either a very low cost subscription to obtain more images or selling them up to a full priced subscription similar to that offered at fotolia itself.

I was disappointed with Zenfolio. Overall, I found it to be a frustrating, unintuitive website builder with bland, forgettable photo galleries.
