  • Make projects clear for your team!

Lucidchart is a great way to capture projects into one page and make them clear for your teams / departments. Personally I do not use the collaboration tool, but I use it for myself when I start new projects and need to present them.

Pros : - Easy to use to draft out projects. - Affordable for the purpose of the software.

Cons : - Could definitely use an application on iOS or Android to draft projects on the go. - Big focus on IT and web related projects which translates in the symbols and icons to use. Could use more different icons for traditional project management as well.

    Worth a Try

It's okay as a diagramming app. The interface is somewhat useful and there are lot more shapes to choose from as well. However it's not as easy to use as some other software of similar nature. Especially if you're not used to working with other diagramming software. Overall if you're looking for a quick diagram without fuss then this is a good tool to use.

Pros : Free ( with some limitations ) Lots of shapes to choose from Real-time collaboration Google drive integration

Cons : Not easy to figure out functions/actions Very little help documentation

    Very Frustrating, High Learning Curve

I was looking to draw a simple flowchart and left feeling frustrated. After adding a start and a process I had a hard time figuring out how to connect them. Took me a while to realize that you have to drag the bubbles that appear when you select a box. I guess you'll get use to it after a while, but definitely not beginner friendly.

Pros : * 14 day premium plan trial * Visio import might be relevant if you plan to import Visio files

Cons : * High learning curve and little help to get started * No templates to get started, which is standard with most software nowadays * Free plan doesn't include mind maps, mock-ups etc * Mentions a object limit of 60 in free plans

  • Lucidchart is an easy-to use, diagramming application for the Web and has a minimal learning curve. Lucidchart offers useful features such as importing Visio and OmniGraffle files, integration with Google Docs and Google Drive, an offline mode, and excellent collaboration support through chat and video.

  • User Friendly

    What do you like best?

Easy to navigate, great templates to start with and functionality is simple to use.

    What do you dislike?

Just taking the time to learn how to use it. Coming from a different program that was more difficult, there is not much to dislike

Recommendations to others considering the product

Try it you will like it

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Converted from Viseo and the learning curve was much narrower with LucidChart.

    Simple and Effective

    What do you like best?

It does the job of diagramming quickly and easily without the expense of adding Visio to people's workstations. It also allows for sharing and collaborating among colleagues

    What do you dislike?

If something is shared with me, i cannot share that with someone else unless i resave it - thus breaking the original shared link

Recommendations to others considering the product

The ease of use alone as welll as ease of collaborating is worth the software.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Charting. and diagramming quickly and cheaply

What exactly is Lucidchart and how can it help me?

    What do you like best?

Lucidchart's best feature is that it is free. Most reviews have mentioned this, but that really is it's USP. It can create diagrams and import from Visio and those are nice to haves from a diagramming program. For me, the best thing about it is that it can be used right inside Chrome. Using the Lucidchart extension, anywhere I had Chrome, I could quickly knock out a diagram if I needed to. This was easily it's best feature.

    What do you dislike?

The main point of dislike with Lucidchart was learning how to use it. Just like any software, it has a learning curve and this was no different. Figuring out where things were and the best practices took some time. I would have liked it to be a bit more user friendly, but as mentioned above, it is a free solution so can't be too picky.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you don't have a proper diagramming program, then Lucidchart is a great solution. If you do have one, or a mind map solution, then Lucidchart may not be for you. Lucidchart does sync with Google Drive (just like Visio files can sync with OneDrive) and as long as you have Chrome running with the extension, you can access your diagrams anywhere. If this isn't needed, then I would stay with your existing solution.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

The main thing Lucidchart did was increase diagramming ability. Visio is not a cloud solution for everyone (and I don't believe they have an app for smartphones or tablets) so this allows anyone the ability to create diagrams and do them quickly.

  • As a free standalone solution, LucidChart stands out among some of the others with the ability to share the diagram in a variety of ways. With a couple of clicks of the mouse, you can be sharing your diagram with all of your friends and family in Facebook, Twitter, or Google+. It's a stable app that has a great deal of tools in order to create robust diagrams for nearly any situation.

  • LucidChart is the most impressive diagramming application I’ve seen in some time. I love the way it speeds the development of new diagrams, through features like the pop-up that appears at the end of a line so you can quickly add another shape when creating flowcharts, as well as the ability to set the app’s default formatting for shapes and lines. With other diagramming programs, I can’t even begin to tell you how many hours I have spent selecting and adjusting the formatting of multiple objects. LucidChart does away with all of that, and lets you get down to business.

  • Realtime connections with other users and ability to iterate with incredible ease is brought to you with the power of HTML and Javascript, which means that Lucidchart can be easily used on any modern browser that is in use today.

  • I’ve only used Lucidchart for a little while now, and I might be the last person in the world to catch on. Its very clear to me that what I’ve asked of it so far only scratches the surface of its capabilities. The other portions of the tool that I’ve briefly explored seem to offer a similar level of usability and simplicity, so it’s easy to see myself expanding my reliance on my new best friend.

  • One of the best charting web apps got even better, with offline editing, amazing iPad integration, and Visio file import. If all web apps were this good, you wouldn't need native apps!
