  • So overall, I liked the Fluenz courses and would recommend them, despite their shortcomings. They fill a niche different from what Rosetta Stone focuses on, and they do a pretty good job of it. Yes, I wish they were cheaper, but they are not. So if you are serious about getting the basic language skills you want and need for your travels, open the wallet and invest in Fluenz. You'll be impressed with what you can do.

  • Overall, Fluenz is a good program. Consider buying it if you are a beginner and you want to have a nice and comfortable introduction into the language.

  • Fluenz Spanish lessons do not talk down to you, but instead present vocabulary you would use in daily life. The learning experience is beautifully constructed, the material is relevant and the explanations are thoughtful. Fluenz acknowledges the difficulty of learning a new language and does not imply that it will be a breeze to master it.
In a market full of excellent software on how to learn Spanish, Fluenz is first-rate because it operates as a virtual private tutor, without the lesson fees or the inconvenience of arranging tutoring sessions that fit your schedule. Its elegant interface, well-planned lessons and useful multimedia tools make Fluenz a superb choice for learning to speak Spanish.

While it doesn't have all the features that other programs have, Fluenz is actually more effective at teaching French because its lessons and activities are simple and intuitive.

We are impressed with Fluenz’s approach to learning the German language. The simulated one-on-one tutoring sessions with a native German speaker are invaluable and give your lessons a personal touch. If you are serious about learning German well enough to actually use it, Fluenz German 1 is one of the best programs to start with.

  • Fluenz Mandarin is great for developing an understanding of the language, and I am still enjoying it nearly halfway through the third level. That means it is fun! Fun is important, because if something is not fun, you are way less likely to stick with it.

  • If you are a beginning student of Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, or Italian, Fluenz provides thorough and enjoyable training. The discs contain enough high quality content to justify the well-heeled price, as long as your heart's not set on voice recognition tools and a live Web class component. You can come away from Fluenz with a solid base understanding of a new language, and a number of useful words and phrases that you can piece together to create new meaning.
Fluenz can help you build a solid foundation in grammar, pronunciation, reading, and writing. I wouldn't set my sights on fluency with Fluenz—or any other software product for that matter. But for making a first start, Fluenz is a great option.

  • I enjoyed the time I spent using Fluenz Latin America. I love the teaching concept and the inviting guide, Sonia Gil. Fluenz has Mac support and is filled with exercises that work on your grammar, writing, and reading skills. The lessons are broken up into manageable sections and the lesson videos include useful tips and helpful pronunciation designed to help English speakers. I would like to have seen resolution controls built into the app. Fluenz shows up very small on some displays and does not match the native resolution of your monitor. For this reason I rate Fluenz Latin America a 9 out of 10.

  • Overall, Fluenz is a solid program that compares well to industry leaders. The limited selection may be a drawback, but the instruction method sets it apart from other programs currently on the market.

  • In the end, I had more fun learning Italian using Fluenz. The software's female instructor introduced each lesson and sought to evoke the excitement of Italy by sharing imagery such as sitting in an Italian class in Milan near the Duomo, or cathedral. Such mental motivation goes a long way toward keeping me interested in the lessons.
She also encouraged users to keep learning by telling us we can do it: "Italian is your friend," she said. "I hope you go to Italy soon."

  • Fluenz is an excellent package for those who are looking for something a little more serious than some of what is available at the moment. It’s riddled with technological annoyances, but despite that is still one of the most comprehensive tools for learning a foreign language on the market today. It is still geared up for tourists and travel, and if you’re looking for something that is going to help you to become fluent, then this isn’t the one for you. There’s a hefty price tag, but if you can put up with the software issues, it’s still a great program.

  • Fluenz comes highly recommended. It's extremely polished and well presented, and it can be a lot less boring than most other language learning software available at the moment. Many people are learning through using this software after they did not entirely get along with others. However, others are still much better at giving clear context to the lessons than its main rival. That's the reason why I rated it with only 4 stars instead of giving it the full 5.
