CoffeeCup HTML Editor is a long-time trusted HTML editor. There's a free version that's great to just grab and use when you need to edit HTML and don't have the time or money to fuss around with more expensive products like Adobe Dreamweaver. Both are pretty much the same: you can edit HTML, CSS, PHP, code is colored to make it easy to read, tabs to sort pages, local organization, remote connection, cross-platform options, preview your work in a browser, have components that update everywhere, drop down code selections and more. There's a built-in HTML validation tool to make sure that the HTML is written correctly, which is important, as one wrong character can make a big difference on a website. It also has code-completion, meaning when you open an HTML tag, then go to close it with the less than sign
Does the minimalism is the main thing that you want to see on your photographic portfolio site? Then you should definitely try the Viewbook. This service offers clean photography sites, without ad blocks, decorations or other distracting things. Each site created on this platform demonstrates the best quality of the images. The photos are never compressed here, they are just resized for the previews, so the photographer can always be confident that his works are presented in the best way when viewed in the full screen mode. All uploaded photos are backed up so the online archive is safe. Note that there is no need to upload the photos by hand. You can use the automated tools for photos transferring from Facebook, Wordpress, Myspace, Twitter or iPhone. There are handy tools for the sharing of each photo. The images could be shared in social networks or you can get the link for embedding the photo on the other website. One of the great Viewbook features is creating portfolio for the each project. If you have a lot of different photos, it is possible to create separate galleries for each project. The galleries will be linked to each other on the main site. Some galleries could be public, the other could be closed. The photographer can upload all photos and then choose only the best images for the showcase. The clients can always download the original photos with a couple of clicks. The Viewbook galleries are easily configured with a variety of parameters. There is even the specialized iPhone/iPad gallery with all the essential tools for a quick preview of the image in a sensor design. For those photographers who like to analyze the best and worse site pages here is the Google Analytics integration. Add it to the site and you will always know what images attract the viewers, what galleries should be revised.

For intermediate to advanced developers, CoffeeCup HTML Editor is a robust editor with several non-standard features included. Some of these features make development faster, such as a comprehensive tag reference for HTML, PHP and CSS. Other features make development easier, such as the code snippets tool, character support and the ability to add 10 different browsers for in-program use and cross-browser compatibility issues. All in all, we found CoffeeCup HTML Editor to be the strongest HTML editor available, and a great deal for the price.More about CoffeeCup The HTML Editor

The folk at Viewbook seem to be working in good faith, doing everything they can to provide a good product to a loyal client base. However, while work continues on the much-delayed but now-testing V3 (the next-generation Viewbook), the current product feels neglected and under-serviced. There is no way to sell photos, no in-site option for contact-form creation, and the template options cross the line from minimalist to simply limited.More about Viewbook
