Joomla is a free and open source content management system. It is the second popular content management system (WordPress comes first). Joomla is used by more than three percent of all sites on the web, and among the web resources that are managed with CMS, its share is about 7-8 %. Unlike WordPress, this CMS was created exclusively for blogs and, therefore, is more versatile. It is easy to create a Joomla powered blog, an information resource, social network, forum, or online store. With Joomla, you can modify the appearance of the site and the control panel. This can be done with different templates. The default engine comes with two templates for admin panel and with three for the website. There is a huge number of themes for Joomla, both paid and free. Ready-made themes can be easily edited without any special knowledge, because they do not consist of a large number of files (as in WordPress). Joomla offers a huge number of options for site appearance customizing. In the admin panel, you can edit different elements of the page separately, you can set parameters to display different items, manage the menu structure, etc. It's very convenient that the user can see what places in the template are available for insertion of modules (e.g. in menu, sidebars, in the footer of the website and in the main area of the page). To do this, write in the address bar of Joomla website www.yoursite.com/?tp=1. By default, the installation package of Joomla contains only the English language. Language modules are presented in the form of add-ons, so to add the other language the admin panel, you will need to deal with the plugins installation.

Overall, Joomla is another great collection of poetic code and features that is used by more than one and a half million websites. It has been described by some as “the designer’s CMS” because of the ease with which you can use it to create unique-looking sites.More about Joomla

Concrete5 is written in PHP and is often compared to Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal. It is best known for its well-implemented in-context editing which makes it easy to use for non-technical web authors, and easy to sell to non-technical stakeholders. Concrete5 can therefore be considered for web projects where end user buy-in is particularly difficult.More about concrete5

MODx features a lot of tools that can dig deep into the nuts-and-bolts of a website in order to produce a flawless design. However, knowledge of development for website coding is needed. Installing MODx could be a great way to help yourself learn HTML and other languages if you are new to developing. Experienced coders may find MODx useful if they are looking for a free alternative to Dreamweaver, Visual Studio, and/or other development methods that provide a more robust WYSIWYG editing system. Like all website design tools, a user really needs to spend a few hours figuring out the system before an informed decision can be made about using this editor.More about MODX
