  • LogMeIn is my favorite app I use at work. At my last place of employment we relied heavily on other programs like WinVNC, and built in remote apps on separate programs. LogMeIn is by far the most reliable and easiest to use of any remote app I have used.

    Pros : -Reliable -Multiple ways to log into a computer. Not reliant on an IP that may be wrong -Can remote into computers not on the corporate network -Automatically relogs back in if you are disconnected -Built in chat function so you can IM to the user you are supporting.

    Cons : -None. I cant think of any cons for what LogMeIn sets out to do.

  • What do you like best?

    Easy to use - free is always good. We were able to leverage this tool very quickly, as the startup time is very short.

    What do you dislike?

    There can be some lag, and I've been forced to refresh my screen

  • LogMeIn is set to upset all those developers with a new iteration of their subscription based Pro service. It now features HD video streaming and support for music streaming from a remote host, over the Internet. Our love of the original, desktop LogMeIn has been tested of late, with a series of similar tools competing for its crown.

    LogMeIn is a great software for IT remote support as well as telecommuting. This platform has very deep features and is complete which makes it a good contender for small businesses to medium sized businesses. While there're many competitors in this market, LogMeIn stands out with its attractive features and quality of service.

    Pros :

    • LogMeIn is multiplatform, it works on both Windows and Macintosh as well as mobile devices.
    • It is very easy to download and get started in seconds, it also does not require you to create an account if you just need quick assistance.
    • If you don't issue a reboot command and if the remote system gets restarted it will auto reconnect to you. This is a significant advantage over some of its competitors.
    • There is a file sharing service just like TeamViewer, which allows you to just transfer files from two computers without having to entirely connect to the client.
    • It is really a great tool for people who want to telecommute.
    • The service is secure and encrypted via SSL, if the program is not running on your computer then nobody can connect. If the program is running a code is still required to connect and expires after a few minutes. This ensures no unwanted person can connect to your computer.
    • Speed seems to be very fast and stable, I have not experienced significant lag.
    • This software seems well optimized and works great even on low bandwidth connections.
    • Technical support is there and available for you if needed.
    • 24/7 phone in most countries.

    Cons :

    • Quick access to remote assistance might be tricky to the non-initiated as the platform sends an invite with a link to create an account.
    • Technically this software supports sounds but it is not very well made as of today.
    • The sound is very stuttery and makes it hard to comprehend what is going on on the other side.
    • Chat features also need some improvement.
