  • Helpful CRM tool

Easy yet powerful CRM software for everyday use. We've tried 3 different CRMs and this is the first one that meets our needs. It helps us manage leads and tasks associated with them. No learning curve.

Pros : - Email feature - Mobile app is the best app ever - Reminders - Email integrations

Cons : - No auto-save when creating leads, tasks, projects

A great CRM for Google Apps users!

I first signed up my company for insightly to use on internet sales for furniture products. We ended up expanding that use as sales reps enjoyed how simple it was to use and share info on leads.

Pros : Keeping track of leads and contacts made with those leads. Sharing leads and estimating the value they present to bring in closers or specialist if necessary. Google Apps integration is fantastic.

Cons : Scheduled follow ups is a feature they could use tremendously. Automatic emails and scheduled timeframes would be nice but not a deal breaker.

    Different, innovative, and simple

Intelligent people simplify complex things, and that's what Insightly has done with their CRM. Easy to set up, customise, and actually delivers what a small to medium business truly needs. I love it!

Pros : Easy to set up Fully customisable Intuitive Simple reporting Integrates to social networks and web-to-business campaigns extremely simply

Cons : Page response times can be somewhat slower than the big-author CRM's. The web-to-contact and web-to-lead codes don't seem to work well with Google sites, which can make it difficult to use for someone who isn't particularly familiar with html Very minor cons compared to all the pros this app offers

  • Solo Attorney Loves the Insightly Gmail Gizmo!!

Insightly Use Cases and Deployment ScopeI am a solo attorney without support staff.  I particularly like the Insightly Gizmo that appears at the bottom of my incoming Gmail.  It allows me to "touch it once" and make a Task List item when I first read the incoming email.  I can then file the email in the client folder and remove it from my inbox.  Similarly, I am able to set up a new "Opportunity" or potential new client from the initial email contact from that prospect.  Then, I can attach links to the Opportunity to reference the Referrer, the Owner, etc.  Also, when I send email to a representative of the potential client, particularly when I have attached documents, I use the unique bcc email address to direct that email to the Opportunity file within Insightly.  The same process is true if/when the Opportunity is turned into a "Project" or new client.  When a client telephones I can then click on the Project and see the history of our email communication and document delivery.

Pros : The Gmail Gizmo is a differentiating factor for me. Of most importance is the ability to set a Task with a reminder and details to describe what needs to be done.I like the ability to have email that I send to a client linked to that client's contact or Project. The are strengths for Insightly because they are efficient. I am operating without support staff. I chose to avoid hiring employees. Therefore, I replace people with technology. I can manage Tasks, Due dates, Contacts and Client

Cons : The only issue that I have experienced is that occasionally the Gmail gizmo does not appear at the bottom of incoming email. Not sure whether that is an Insightly issue, a Google server issue, or a bandwidth issue at my office. But, it is rare.

Meeting our needs and Serving us well

Insightly Use Cases and Deployment ScopeWe utilize Insightly as a sales CRM, and mange our inbound RFI/RFP responses as projects within the system.

Pros : Simple to use.Easy to extend. We really like the simple relationship between Org's, opportunities, and contacts. We find the ability to quickly associate all email activity with a prospect very useful.

Cons : Reporting / Reports - a broader availability of standard reports along with the ability to build custom reports. The ability to review and update multiple opportunities quickly. We are always exporting opportunity data to Excel and manipulating it for monthly or quarterly forecasting, it would be nice to either be able to upload this data back into Insightly, or have a view from within Insightly that allows the user to view data from multiple opportunities at the same time in a simple table vie

Insightly makes Google Apps a full service system

Insightly Use Cases and Deployment ScopeI use Insightly to manage my sales process both for my coaching services and for speaking engagements. I use it primarily as a CRM and have created a sales funnel processes.  I like that it integrates seamlessly with Google Apps Gmail and that it sends me reminders. I've been unhappy with Gmail by itself as a CRM and Insightly is a good add-on solution.

Pros : Integrates with Gmail. With a click of a button I can add contacts, save emails to that contact, add opportunities and tasks, etc.The ability to link people to other people and organizations is great.I like that I can create a series of tasks and add them with one click to a contact or organization or opportunity.

Cons : I don't like that I can't easily edit the organization. Insightly creates the organization from the email address and that isn't always accurate.I wish I could easily add a person's title to their contact. Some of the navigation isn't intuitive for me.

  • Good looking, flexible CRM system, but lacking some basics

    What do you like best?

One of Insightly's standout features is that it has the flexibility to associate any item with any other item. For example, you can associate a contact to more than one organization, associate contacts with each other, associate a task or note to more than one contact, project, or opportunity, etc. Other unique and powerful features are custom pipelines and custom activity sets. You can create multiple pipelines which can be assigned to different opportunities or projects as needed, and pre-configured activity sets which will automatically create tasks for each stage in the pipeline as it occurs. So it enables to you customize processes to your organization. Not to mention Insightly's integration with Gmail and Google Apps, which allows you to add emails and contacts directly from Gmail, as well as create tasks, opportunities and projects. Also has integration with other popular tools like Mailchimp.

    What do you dislike?

While Insightly has a lot of flexibilty, it's missing some basic functionality that is common to most other CRMs, specifically, custom views for lists. It displays organizations, contacts, projects, etc. in very nice looking lists, but the lists contain very limited information about each item. And you cannot customize the information/fields that are displayed. So, let's say you have a "due date" field for projects, and you would like to see a list of open projects with their due dates - you cannot do that. You would have to click on a specific project to open it and see its due date or other information you are interested in.

While it offers more than average flexibility in how to store and organize your data, it provides less than average flexibility in how to view and use your data.

Also desperately needs a Dashboard - the current "Home" page just shows recent activity.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If this is your first CRM, you won't be disappointed. If you are considering moving from another CRM, just give it a try before switching and make sure it suits your needs. It has a lot of functionality, some limitations mainly on viewing data. Also, it's strictly CRM - no accounting or order/quote management.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

Store and organized contacts and emails, stay on top of tasks, manage opportunities and projects.

Definitely Recommending Insightly for Small Businesses

    What do you like best?

It is free and it can automatically load a lot of information about your clientele based on email address. So for example I had to send an email to a new potential sponsor, and stored the name and email of the point of contact on Insightly. Soon enough, Insightly automatically uploads social media profiles, position and other details about the client.

    What do you dislike?

Sometimes the CRM website is not intuitive enough. For example, if a client is named John Smith but has contacted me using both his personal email ([email protected]) and his business email ([email protected]), the app stores 2 different contact details. For a user who has had direct contact like myself, that would be easily distinguishable. But for a colleague of mine who wants to access team contact history with John Smith, the process of locating John Smith's can be quite a hassle.

Recommendations to others considering the product

If you are a small team that is changing members frequently, Insightly is the best way to make the transition process between old members to new members easier.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

The team I worked in has not been able to transition between business members as new members do not know any past history the team has had with clients. With Insightly, new members can browse through contact history between the team and clients as well as get a better understanding of the relationship, i.e. what are some deliverables that the team owes the client or vice versa.

    What do you like best?

Ability to import contacts, add users and set up an organizational flow.

    What do you dislike?

Only thing that is a dislike is the visibility options for those outside of an organization.

  • Insightly is easy to access and use, yet powerful enough to bring people and projects together in one dashboard. But most of all, it is affordable to any business that wants to track projects, customers, tasks and other relevant information without the need to buy expensive software.

  • Insightly is a great tool for any small business. The application combines project management and CRM in the most convenient way possible. Mobile access is a nice plus and the pricing plans are very flexible. A startup can go for the free plan, which is relatively generous or upgrade to one of the three paid plans which start at a reasonable monthly rate.

  • Insightly isn't just a CRM platform: It also provides detailed insight into contacts, customers, companies and your business processes. Aside from occasional slow performance, it's an excellent CRM platform for smaller businesses

Insightly brings together collaboration, CRM, and project management into one solution. Its intuitive workflow, good help resources, and competitive subscription pricing make Insightly a great CRM pick for smaller businesses that don't need the dizzying array of offerings from the likes of Salesforce.com  or don't have the IT support required by more enterprise-targeted and traditional solutions like Sage act Insightly's chief downside is that it sometimes gave sluggish performance during testing. Besides that one issue, it's a solid CRM solution.

  • Overall, Insightly for iOS is really just the Insightly mobile site, app-tized. But it does operate much more quickly, and I'd say it's more comfortable to use than its browser-based counterpart.

If one of your resolutions for the new year was to adopt a CRM tool or try out a new one, Insightly might be worth a look—especially if you need customer management that's mobile.

  • I use Insightly daily! As a bootstrapping new business owner I cannot express how helpful it has been in the week I have been using it. A free software is just literally invaluable.

Being able to put all of my contacts and follow ups in as tasks alone has saved me the anxiety of staring at a spreadsheet. The opportunities have freed up the space in my brain by letting me know how much money I've got in the potential pipeline. And I have just started BCCing emails to be a part of it.

Already, it has been invaluable. The video help is super beneficial and the iPad app makes it easy to stay on top of my stuff on the go. I love it.

This is a great CRM program for a small business. The price and value are excellent, and the learning curve is fast. I love the feature that allows you to create tasks directly from your Google inbox and view current tasks. If you want the best app in the marketplace, go with Insightly.

We tried the other CRM options, the big solutions aimed at big companies. We

were never satisfied, and we wondered whether there was a good fit out there for

a small business. Then we found Insightly.

Insightly’s ability to integrate with Google Apps was a key factor in our decision to adopt

the solution, as well as its built-in project management tool since our sales cycle involves a lot of moving pieces. When a sales pitch generates a lead and then a client, our team can move seamlessly through those stages without losing data or worrying about multiple applications.
