Recently, at my new company, we started using Salesforce IQ within our Gmail emails. We have been using Salesforce IQ for a handful of aspects, including tracking emails, understanding when someone opens our email, tying the emails back to Salesforce, providing times we are free to chat and sending emails out at a future time. I've been using Salesforce (the CRM) for over 5 years now, but Salesforce IQ tied to my email has made life much easier. Now, I don't need to to tie emails back to the account/lead/contact through the BCC "emailtosalesforce/...." which is nice. Along with that, I can specify how I want the tracking to work, and whether I want to tie it to the contact, the opportunity, or (if for some reason) we have multiple options on the email itself.

Pros :

  • Tracking: Being able to see who and when someone opens an email is a huge benefit when it comes to sales. The Salesforce IQ application gives the sales team insight into how emails are working, and when we should follow up.
  • Timing: one of the most tedious aspects of following up with prospects (or even contacts) is sending over times that you are available to speak, connect or demo. With the Salesforce IQ application, you can plug times directly into the email based on times you are free (synced to your work calendar).
  • Creating contacts/leads in SFDC: Salesforce IQ allows you to create new leads/contacts in Salesforce when they do not exist.

Cons :

  • Creating new contacts/leads - sometimes when you create a contact or lead (straight from Gmail), it doesn't allow you to edit the contact/lead right there. The problem with this, is that you end up creating a new point being - x - "contact@aol.com" x - First Name - contact@aol.com x - Last name - ______ x - email - contact@aol.com.
  • You cannot edit the subject lines in which it goes into Salesforce. With a long string, you end with a handful of "Re: xxxxx" when it would be nice to edit (from the source) and change it to "EE - meeting with management this week"

    It seems that Apptivo cannot realistically address our suppliers issues. There is no way to easily integrate supply products into the system as margins are not automatically calculated etc. The product has loads of potential, but currently, it has serious issues with supply chain management.

    What do you like best?A decent tool for Time Tracking, Invoicing, Opportunity management. It essentially seems to be geared toward Professional Services organizations. Especially with features like Time Tracking, Invoicing, etc. I like the fact that these services are integrated and native to the application. What do you dislike?The opportunity management features, reporting, and searching definitely seem to be lacking as compared to Salesforce. The interface is clumsy and difficult to use. The app itself feels incredibly slow.

    We signed up for RelateIQ 2 months ago and did not find it useful so we called the support guys to cancel our subscription. It was then that they informed us that we have no choice but to keep our subscription for a year because of some fine print that they never mentioned before.
