There are a lot of screencast tools for Windows. Mac users have fewer options than other Operating Systems users. ScreenFlow is one of them. This software offers sound recording from microphone or built-in camera along with the screen video. This feature is very convenient because while recording you can immediately give comments. It clearly simplifies the process and eliminates the need for video editing. However, if necessary, the finished video can be edited. ScreenFlow offers a built-in editor with the timeline interface. One can rearrange clips on the timeline, to cut them and set the clips priority. By dragging the mark in the center of the screen, it is possible to rotate the video. When working with video, it is also possible to set the "approaching" on the screen and the brightness. One can crop the picture around the edges, add reflections, adjust color balance, add filters, change the output level of sound and apply audio effects, add annotations and text to the video. Also, the user can make a visual display of mouse clicks and increase the cursor, which is very useful while creating video tutorials. ScreenFlow also offers to dim the entire screen except the place on which the mouse is induced. The video could be uploaded to YouTube or other video sharing services. It is also possible to save the video on one of many supported formats. All settings could be configured manually. It's great that ScreenFlow allows to export a few uncompressed formats. So it is possible to use the external encoder to fine-tune the output format.

Pros :

  • ScreenFlow saves the various media used in the project in a single file.
  • The video editing is available immediately after the capture.
  • Multi-track capability.
  • Capturing multiple video/audio streams at once.

Cons :

  • The program often freezes during the editing.
  • There are a lot of small usability issues.

Magix Video Pro is a very good product sold by Magix. With this product Magix Video Pro joins the many professional products for video editing. The product can be purchased directly from the website, and you can download the evaluation version with the validity of 30 days. Pros:

Pros :

  • The strength of Magix Video Pro is definitely the stability of the program, the excellent functionality, and the multiple tools available, and you will be able to use this software to make professional level video editing to your liking and thus having a very good result of very high quality.
Another strong point of Magix Video Pro is definitely the user interface, this is really well structured, is divided into several areas, first of all, you have available multitrack timeline that is the main part of your project, follow this timeline detailing your video by setting effects, automation, cutting out the important parts of the video etc.
-Via the toolbar of the timeline you can make any type of change to the timeline and to videos that you have included (add text, crop, delete etc.).
  • Next you have the area project folders that will show you all the elements that are part of the project.
  • Above the timeline you have since the program monitor (showing the video you're editing and creating, this will correspond to the result of your installation of your timeline), the source monitor (which allows you to view video sources), the area of import video file that shows the different tabs also the effects, the setting that the metadata etc.
  • Both the Program Monitor that the Source Monitor provide their toolbar through which you can view and crop the part of the video that you want to include in your installation, when you crop you can include it in your timeline and apply effects and image changes.
  • You can, of course, use the majority of commonly used audio and video formats, you can include audio of different types in the tracks of the timeline, change the settings of the audio tracks, to make the mix to adjust the audio output, etc.
  • The project can be created and exported in the most common video formats and in all possible resolutions (360, 720, 1080, 4K etc.), PAL or NTSC, 25fps 50fps etc.

Cons :

  • The cost of the program is quite high, is sold at 400 €.

These days there are a countless amount of software that allow the user to do video editing, from simple and essential as the most professional and technically complicated.Movavi deserves to be considered a good video editing software that is positioned in the middle between entry level and intermediate level.

Pros :

  • The strength of Movavi is definitely its incredible ease of use, at first glance it quickly becomes very user-friendly, the interface is well-designed, simple with little possibility of interaction in terms of layout but is very explanatory and well interpretable and understandable even by a user who has never done video editing.
  • The interface consists mainly of the video preview with its own progress bar and buttons to play or rewind the video, from exploration (where you will see the objects to include in the video, or effects, etc.), and at the bottom of the page there is the multitrack timeline section where you will have the opportunity to use and import multiple video tracks, audio tracks, and each of these can make the classic changes in terms of volume, length of clips, effects, etc. You can also scroll and zoom the timeline, cut and make editing at will.
  • The main buttons are well highlighted, as the import of media files, 3D video, capture by cams, direct recording etc. in the section of the effects you can see a fairly complete list of the most common effects like filters, transformations of various types, effects and color corrections, adjustments, distortions, rotations, crops and much more.
  • You can also include the texts within the video and select and use different types of fades.

Cons :

  • Every minus point that comes to mind may be related to the fact that it really is not a professional tool, but if you keep in mind that it is a software that is not aimed at experienced users, but users who want to start to approach the world of video editing is well balanced in terms of cost and functionality.
  • Prices are clearly listed on the official website

In the end, if you have the money to spare towards such an excellant product, I would highly suggest it. ScreenFlow is no doubt the best screen recording software I've ever used. It's stable, fast, efferent when it comes to data usage, and just such a great design overall. Those are the reasons why every Mac user should own this application.

The interface is straightforward enough for a kid to comprehend with expansive recordings that straightforwardly demonstrate what tasks they perform. All the features are available from the begin screen itself, so you don't need to explore much. The Movavi Video suite is a complete video capturing and editing tool that is unquestionably going to be exceptionally well known because of its key characteristics set and its affordable costs.

There isn’t one software solution for everyone. At half the price of Adobe’s premium offering in video editing,andnbsp;Video Pro X5 is at least worth a look.andnbsp; There are plenty of specific video needs and lots options when it comes to meeting them. I found theandnbsp;Magix Video Pro X5 to be useable compromise of power, price, and versatility.andnbsp;
