  • Nero 2015 Platinum continues to be a good all-round media manager, with an emphasis on disc burning and now on media steaming to fixed and mobile devices around the house. It tries hard to make this as simple to achieve as possible, and often succeeds.

  • Nero Video is a solid, if uninspiring, tool for creating movies and slideshows ready for burning.

    Pros

    • Lots of features
    • Complete video editor
    • Supports many formats
    • Ability to create slideshows

    Cons

    • Very long installation
    • Resource hungry

  • If you are willing to spend the time to learn where the features are and aren't concerned about its limited number of editing options, Nero Video 2014 might be a good application for you. Technical support focuses on European users, but the email support is quick. Nero Video can create movies, but the best video editing software supplies more features than it does.

  • Nero is still one of the most capable of the burning suites, and it fills most users' needs in the creative department (video editing and production, slideshows, etc.), but most improvements in version 2014 are in the usability arena.

  • The Nero 12 suite provides a thorough collection of tools for video editing and conversion, media viewing and transfer, and, of course, physical and optical media burning, backup, and recovery. The Nero Video and Nero Recode tools for video editing and format conversion provide accessible capabilities for newcomers plus upside technology as you gain more experience. The result is a handy toolkit, both with core applications for repeated use, and with handy tools to use for occasional jobs -- especially with each application's welcome guides and tutorials to get you started quickly and to help remind you how to get your tasks done.

  • Though it offers fairly advanced video editing effects, including an excellent picture-in-picture too, Nero Video Premium HD suffers from slow startup and movie rendering and a lack of integration between its two components. It's priced to sell, though.

  • Nero Video is a video editing and management tool that aims to make the process of working with video files as easy as it has become to edit digital photos. A well-priced and incredibly power video editing tools that brings professional results within the reaches of everyone.
