I have used AVS4YOU on multiple occasions in the past, and it includes a large amount of useful features. The software allows users to rip DVDs, convert video, audio and image files to different formats, as well as burn discs and edit videos. The conversion aspects of the software are quite powerful and get the job done, however at times this suite of software can appear to be a jack of all trades. A perfect example of this can be found in the video editor - while it gets the job done, it is not very powerful and is only good enough for quick home videos. Having said that, this software is good to have lying around if users need a quick video, audio or image conversion and would not like to go through numerous banners and adverts present in free online tools.
I purchased the Flip4Mac Pro version ($29) because for my work I've sometimes needed to convert wmv files to mov or mp4 files for editing on my Mac. Flip4Mac worked like a charm. I was surprised that this wasn't included in Quicktime or as a paid add-on. Maybe some licensing issue with Microsoft. But Microsoft has openly endorsed Flip4Mac as Windows Media Components for QuickTime on their website. It's pretty much the only known component for OSX that supports Windows Media Video and Audio. That format itself is a dying breed, where the preference now is mp4. Mac's native format is mov, and web browsers are now also using webm and ogv. So with all of these formats, being able to convert between them all is crucial. Uploading to YouTube generally does the job for you, but sometimes there are cases if you're viewing a video on your computer or editing, using a standalone player or a website theme and you need to convert the files on your own. The WMV and WMA formats are what Microsoft Windows Movie Maker uses, which is the free program distributed with Windows (kinda like Paint is for images), so it's still widely in use especially amongst Windows users. There are several pricing levels that are both affordable and make sense: - Flip4Mac Player which allows you to play Windows Media files - The Pro version allows to you to import and convert using QuickTime - The Studio version has higher dimensions - The Studio Pro HD has higher quality with two-pass encoding
- Converts WMV and WMA files to Mac formats for editing or viewing - High-quality, affordable price - Handles other files formats too like ASF - Can do high dimension and high-quality encoding
- Costs money, but worth it to get a more quality product that's updated over time - Doesn't work with DRM content, but DRM really isn't in use any more anyway.

After weighing all the information I have collected together with my own personal experience with the product, I give AVS4YOU a two-thumbs-up verdict. Especially if you are looking to get a complete suite of software tools for digital multimedia projects (video conversion, video editing, audio conversion and editing, management of multimedia for mobile devices and game consoles etc), then go ahead and purchase a license for AVS4YOU with confidence. You will not regret it.More about AVS4YOU

Highly recommended. Flip4Mac could be considered as one of the essential Mac applications, one of the most popular video and music players for Mac OS X. Overall, the price is fair since you’ll really get a lot of features which you don’t have by default within your Mac OS X.More about Telestream Flip4Mac

Being a Linux user who has access to a good selection of free video editors, I have yet to find one that works well for my needs. Most of them are either too basic and lacking some features or are too complicated to use. Wondershare video editor, though it is only available for Windows and Mac, has done a good job in making a complicated feature-rich software user-friendly and easy to use.More about Wondershare Filmora

Wondershare Video Editor contains the features you would expect from a basic casual computer editing application. You can easily create simple videos with cuts, transitions, music, and voiceover narration. There are plenty of video effects to choose from, but I would recommend exercising restraint. It’s too bad the stock graphics that are included haven’t been updated to full HD resolution and that the text that you can create in the application isn’t very crisp. Also, support for QuickTime files that contain alpha channel would be welcome in the next version.More about Wondershare Filmora
