WebEx is a platform to present and share information to users in simple easy to use format. It's interactive and full of features. Works on all platforms and is quickly become the preferred way to hold a meeting between several parties. Webex has options for using your webcam or tying into a toll-free number.

    Pros :

    • WebEx is extremely easy to use. As an attendee, all you have to do is click the link, enter in your name and an email and you are in.
    • No downloading of a file is necessary.
    • Everything can be handled within your browser.
    • When using a program from Cisco you know, it will be the most up to date software out there.
    • WebEx will give a file that works with Outlook to make it easier to create a meeting in Outlook to send out to your attendees.
    • On top of the easy start, there are many features that greatly increase the value of this product.
    • The audio and video conferencing abilities are flawless, file sharing, and connecting to remote devices.
    • I have hosted many meetings using WebEx and have been invited or joined even more.
    • It’s a very common tool for collaborative meetings where a visual aid is needed.
    • The presenter can easily pass controls of the presentation to any member of the meeting.
    • This is a great feature if there are multiple presenters or if someone has a question that having controls will aid in. WebEx is also supported on all platforms and devices.

    Cons :

    • There aren’t many cons to WebEx that I have come across. It would be helpful to have more options with the pricing and plans that are available.
    • Since this tool can be used for small and large business alike making it more affordable for smaller teams may steer more people towards it. While you don’t need to download anything to install, there is an extension that you need to make it work.

WebEx is a relatively easy tool to use for setting up meetings or webinars. If you host a webinar, it’s easy enough to report on who attended the event and how long they stayed on the call for. You also have the ability to email people reminders as well as the actual recording right from the tool.

    Pros :

    • It takes only minutes to set up meetings.
    • The tool offers several options when setting up an event or a meeting allowing you to create something that requires a password is entered keeping it private or having a sign in.
    • If you require a sign in of some sort, then it will automatically record who attended and even how long they stayed.
    • You can also record, which is pretty standard.
    • What I find to be great is that you can email people directly from the tool.
    • So if you want to set up automatic reminders to people who have registered for the event, then you can do so right in WebEx.

    Cons :

    • If you want to edit a recording, it requires that you to first convert the file using the Network Recording Player.
    • It doesn't provide you with a format that can be edited with other tools, which is really annoying and time-consuming. So you will have to first download the Network Recording Player to your computer and then convert the recording you have downloaded.
    • Toll-free numbers weren't working for us, and it took about a month for them to fix it. Not sure if this is a typical issue for people, but it definitely was a problem for us.
    • Dealing with support, in general, was an issue for us as they took so long to get back to you and when they did it was even longer for them to fix the issue.
    • I also find it annoying how you have to download the extension every time you attend a WebEx.

The latest upgrade to WebEx is a big improvement on the ease of use and overall user experience. Much cleaner and I find myself getting it set up much quicker than before. A great tool to leverage especially for anything training related, especially if you have a distributed team. We also use it for some client facing activities, especially website demos, where it is quite useful. Having seen other tools, it seems like WebEx is the gold standard that everyone compares against. It's not perfect, but the best I have seen so far.

    Pros :

    • Ubiquitous- it seems like everyone has used it before, so it is easier for folks attending a WebEx conference to get online with it.
    • The new interface is much better than the old one- easier to start a meeting, invite others, as well as easier to attend a meeting. - It works- outside of bandwidth issues, it has always fired up and worked in meetings that we have had.

    • It works outside of bandwidth issues, it has always fired up and worked in meetings that we have had.
    • Still the most effective way to have a meeting and present to a larger number of people.
    • A good training tool as well- a great best practice is to do any training via WebEx and you can then record this training, thus making it available to a wider audience. This is a great internal way to leverage WebEx.

    Cons :

    • Like anything communications related, it is only as good as the bandwidth you have, which can be tricky in developing countries.
    • Heavy media still does not work so well, but I think this afflicts all tools like this. - The pace of innovation- smaller, more nimble companies bring out features quicker than WebEx. - More expensive than some of the new tools.

Web-ex is used to carry out meeting, conference, planning, scheduling, exchange of documents, etc. Having all of this features and functionalities in one software helps in better organizing of projects, as the traditional approach of Project Management is quite tedious, tiresome and consumes lots of efforts in terms of time, where the throughput is not that great. Webex interface is nice and intuitive. The concept of meeting space is also innovative enough.

    Pros :

    • The best part of any web conferencing or web meeting tool is that it helps in connecting users across multiple locations around the globe which are in different time zones.
    • One sleek tool which helps us connect with people across the globe. -There are lots of interesting features within web-ex which makes life easy for the Project Manager or Project Coordinator.
    • Skew of such features being automatic invitation to meetings, conference call number which is unique for the call, and which can be shared with the participants, security password for the meetings so that only invited persons have the security code can join in.
    • Materials can also be shared which makes it quite a tool for conference calls and meetings.
    • One more interesting features is the user can share his desktop with other participants in the meeting. This helps with passing on the clear set of information to the participants and helps get things done faster and accurately, with inputs from participants in the meeting.
    • One can also stream video across the participants without much time lag or delay which is quite a good feature to have when one needs to share across video clips to the participants.
    • Another interesting feature is it allows one to record all conference meetings, so that one can refer to it at any given point of time.

    Cons :

    • As with some of the software's, WebEx also works best with Internet Explorer. So the default browser needs to be internet explorer if one plans to use WEB-EX.

As an inside sales rep, I am unable to get out of the office and participate in meetings on location. WebEx allows me to host a meeting without ever having to leave my desk. I can include several participants who also are unable to travel, making it easier to communicate between different divisions, departments, and locations.

There is an option to perform a meeting via phone only or through the webcam. You can also record the meetings and send it to others, allowing them or yourself to review the notes or review something in better detail. There is also an extension that can be added directly to Outlook, making setting up meetings easier when replying to an email or creating a calendar invite.

    Pros :

    • Part of the Outlook extension is the ability to create a meeting immediately and forward that invite to others via email.
    • This allows for impromptu meetings that need to take place without having to schedule something later when the other participants may not be available.
    • There is also the option to host a meeting through phone only, and using the "Meet Now" option allows others to join if it is necessary to share screens.
    • Schedule a meeting is also very easy, and you can add it directly to your calendar with one click.
    • As an attendee, it is very easy to join a meeting, and the ability to dial-in is great for environments that are not appropriate for using computer speakers and microphone.

    Cons :

    • There are two different invite views, and one can be very complicated and confusing
    • It provides too much information that can make it harder to join a meeting for those not familiar with WebEx, whereas the simple invite has a link that states "Join WebEx Meeting" and the dial-in info.
    • WebEx also requires you to download their desktop app to even participate in a virtual meeting, even if you never plan to use WebEx again.
    • It would be better if you could join a meeting through a web browser instead.
-This is great for those that use WebEx on a regular basis, but it makes those who do not weary about joining a meeting.
    • It is also possible for others to join in a meeting that is already in session if it is not password protected. This makes it difficult to hold back-to-back meetings that may run over the allotted time.

WebEx is good video conferencing software that allows users to share screen, slides and files with other attendees to the meeting. With colleagues and clients sitting around the globe, these mediums of communication is no more an option for the organizations, but have become a necessity today. With WebEx all employees can be kept on the same page. Since it is an online medium, there is no downloading required all the time. One just needs to create an account on WebEx have the internet and get started with the endless list of features of the tool. WebEx allows the host to create a recording of the meeting; these recordings can be saved in a special site which can be accessed only by company employees for future references like training and feedback. Their meetings can be saved in the form of videos and can also be sent out through emails. Although WebEx has best in class features, yet it is very easy to use and does not require any training for the employees.

    Pros :

    • WebEx has an out of the box feature of audience feedback.
    • This helps the host of the meeting to gather information on what client though about the meeting instantly, these are the first reactions of the audience and hence a very trusted method to collect feedback.
    • Another distinct feature of this product is that it allows teleconferencing with an online view get connected to webinar with the help of conference access code.
    • This helps the host of the meeting to keep a track on who all are present in the meeting at any given point in time.
    • WebEx can be easily scalable; as the organization grows the corporate packages can be easily increased of decreased as per requirement.

    Cons :

    • I totally love this product and find it must be reliable to use.
    • This can be used by all scales of organizations and is wonderful to use both internally and externally.
    • The only area that requires improvement is that WebEx does not provide proper guidance to the attendees of the meeting, and they face issues especially if they are first time users.

Cisco Webex is probably one of the most commonly used conferencing tools around the globe. It has all the features one would need to set up web meetings over the internet such as screen sharing, whiteboard, recordings, mobile apps and multiple presenters role. The platform is pretty compatible with all kinds of devices available to the public giving participants the freedom to attend a meeting from their preferred device.

    Pros :

    • Webex has a very simple user interface although just slightly less intuitive than some of its competitors. But this is essentially due to the fact that is packed with so many great features.
    • Attendees can share their desktop with just a click. When they are done, they can hand over the presenter role to another person thus making the experience very seamless.
    • The seamless transition WebEx provides while going from one desktop to another and the real-time transfer capabilities available for files and documents are impressive.
    • The host has the power to share an entire desktop. Anything shown on the host computer can be shared on the screen for the entire conference to view.
    • The technical support is very good, if you have any questions or concerns, representatives are available via email, phone or live chat.
    • Of course, there are so much resources available on the official website such as video tutorials or FAQs.
    • Meeting recording is a very welcome feature that allows you to send recap of conferences to people that may not have been able to join in a live meet.

    Cons :

The biggest problem I have had with Webex in our organization is the fact that meetings are sometimes hard to start from the web interface. Depending on which web browser you use, you might run into little quirks and be late for a meeting. A big downer...I found out that keeping the client application always up to date seems to alleviate these kinds of problems.

Webex is a web conferencing solution that has its highs and lows. It comes in handy when you need it, but I don’t always like to use it.

    Pros :

You can easily integrate Cisco WebEx with email solutions such as Outlook, making it easy to schedule meeting in WebEx. The user interface is also really easy to use and looks professional. With WebEx, you have the option to conduct video conferencing with or without audio. You also have the option to allow certain users to share their screens or videos. It’s nice that you don’t have to download any software to use the program. You can access to it through any web browser. Although, I’ve found that it does act funny on certain browsers. It’s important to note that you do need to have the latest version of Java software installed to use the WebEx system. You have also the ability to chat with a group or an individual during a conference. WebEx also allows you to record meetings and webcasts that can be referenced later or shared with someone who was unable to attend. It’s an especially ideal solution if you’re working with team members or clients internationally. Another bonus is that the chat conversations can be translated into local languages. You can also use it when presenting a webinar. You can record the webinar and share it on your website or with your colleagues.

    Cons :

Often, I prefer to call into meetings from my phone rather than using the audio feature. However, I’ve had instances where it still connected my audio on the computer, even though I said I would dial in. There is also sometimes a lag in screen sharing between the viewer and presenter. WebEx also asks for unnecessary information when joining a conference, such as the attendee ID number, which can be annoying.

Cisco WebEx meeting center has one of the best user interfaces available. One can use WebEx for audio and video conferencing and allows users to share screen or videos. Cisco WebEx does not require any software to be installed on the computer and can be completely accessed through any web browser. One needs to have Java installed on the machine and cookies enabled in your browser to access WebEx. It offers a host of features for interacting with the participants like polling, virtual hand raising and surveys.

    Pros :

Cisco WebEx can be seamlessly integrated with popular enterprise email solutions like Outlook and Lotus Notes which makes it easy to schedule WebEx meetings from within the email client. They also offer mobile apps so that one can even attend meeting on the go. One click meeting option is also there which allows you to allow participants directly from your personal room. The recording feature is another jewel in the crown. One can record important meetings and webcasts so that it can be referenced later in case something has been missed or can be shared with others. There is an option to rebroadcast the session as well. It also offers various editing options so that one can remove some portions. There is an option to share the conversation during the meeting over the chat interface to all the audience. It offers a round the clock support which ensure minimum disruption. It has dedicated servers across the globe so as to ensure high fidelity audio and video conferencing across the world. Multiple rooms can be set up if one needs to have different audience for different parts of the seminar. The service also tells you who is currently speaking as one might not recognize the participants from voice. This helps in better annotation of questions. The chats can be translated to local languages in case of a global audience.

    Cons :

Cisco WebEx uses a different platform for regular day to day meeting and webinars. If someone uses both the services regularly, a single platform offers far more convenience. Also, there is no option of operator monitored webinars which ensures that everything goes on without any interruptions.

The product is very old feeling and has not been updated in a while.

Pros : It works everytime and seems to not have problems when I have used it with clients.

Cons : The UI is lacking to say the least. Very old and not up-to-date.
