  • Citrix GoToMeeting is a top software for instant or scheduled web conferences with a focus on online collaboration.

    Pros :

    Cons :

  • GoToMeeting Use Cases and Deployment ScopeOur profit centers use GoToMeeting for conference calls, desktop sharing and presentations with customers. Our sales and business development departments use it for the same applications, when contacting potential customers and commercial partners. Using this tool saves us a tremendous amount of traveling time and costs, especially for all new contacts above a 200 km limit.

Pros : Very user friendly.Allows for screen sharing.Easy to set up.

Cons : Can be unreliable, depending on your bandwidth, which can be very annoying in a sales meeting with a potential customer. We sometimes have so many problems with audio that we only use GoToMeeting for document sharing and use a classic phone for audio. Some delay in screen sharing.

  • GoToMeeting places a strong focus on simplifying and enhancing collaboration, making it well suited for a team of employees working with clients. However, larger teams will find it a bit more difficult to get participant feedback.

Overall, my job would be impossible without the assistance of a screen-sharing technology. Enter GoToMeeting. Being able to provide screen share sessions, helping to demonstrate products or services offered.andnbsp; GoToMeeting is a key part of my day-to-day work as it allows both me to show potential clients the value behind our SaaS offering, as well as allows clients to share their screen with me instead, helping to better envision current environments, software utilization, configurations, etc.

    Pros :

    • Simple method to connect the dots between people, with the fundamental ability to provide a screen shared, online session.
    • Easily setup and provide (toll-free) bridge lines (with a huge number of available countries/dial-in locations) to make the phone method of the meeting just as simple to launch as the screen-sharing itself.
    • Effectively record meetings and sessions to be able to distribute and reflect back on.
    • Manage and maintain upcoming meetings with the editable upcoming queue.
    • Simple drawing tools allow users to point out areas of interest and scribe items while providing the discussion and/or demonstration.
    • Mic

      Cons :

      • The software can be a bit glitchy at times and not properly launch meetings in which I am the presenter (meaning I have to close the application down and re-launch it entirely).
      • Sometimes the dial-in numbers will kick you off the line for not providing the proper access code (despite a slow, tedious entering of the code. Strike 3 and you're out, meaning you have to dial back in again and try your luck with the system accepting the code again).

Nowadays a lot and most of the companies have an organizational structure scap on different locations, in different city and countries more and more distant from each other, so it became a requirement to be able to communicate and interact with other sites not only by telephone but also by meetings in interactive ways and in realtime, so you can take down the most of the difficulty of the distance.
Thanks to the use of GoToMeeting these problems disappear completely, at least as regards the communication and interaction with the staff.

    Pros :

    • GoToMeeting is definitely one of the best software for conferences, has developed very well, with a commendable attention to detail, and is a simple software to use and very powerful.
    • It can mainly be used by PC but can also use tablet and mobile devices, can be used on all Windows platforms, iOS, Android and apple, andnbsp;which makes it useful for many needs.
    • To begin to get an idea of how is it, you can download the product directly from the official website http://www.gotomeeting.it/, you have the possibility to use it for 30 days with some limitations.
    • Very convenient is the tray icon that includes all the major functionality. The communication mask is very minimal but well designed to encompass all the tools you need in a small space, even the icons used are intuitive and very user-friendly.
    • The communication mask is very minimal but well designed to encompass all the tools you need in a small space, even the icons used are intuitive and very user friendly.
    • The different panels as options and chat, are even expandableandnbsp;or you can hide them , very minimal but effective
    • Very comfortable is also the possibility of being able to send invitations for meetings may be by email and phone text messages.

    Cons :

    • It did not actually have minus points, surely one can be the price that is slightly high, but if you consider the high quality of the product (let me remember that being produced by Citrix could not be otherwise), is not such a big limit.andnbsp;

A very efficient way to host meetings face-to-face with folks no matter their location. The chat feature comes in handy when a video call is dropped by perhaps 1 participant so that it doesn't influence the rest of the participants, that individual is still able to participate. Or, of course, sidebar conversations, questions, comments.

    Pros :

    • So long as you have a great internet connection you have a face-to-face connection with video conference calls that made easy.
    • With small businesses, absolutely go with Start Meeting because they are on the ball. Support is offered anytime. You can record and playback the meetings as well

    Cons :

    • I have nothing to offer with regards to "cons". At our business, we have successfully run web/audio meetings family flawlessly.andnbsp; andnbsp;

Overall I feel this product worked well for our needs. Mostly because it allows direct access to the user's computer and the ability to allow other attendees to control that desktop. It makes it nice when you are working on say a presentation and need your team's input on design or slides. Also the ability to private message someone in the meeting is nice if you need to discuss direction or options during the meeting without interrupting. Example, maybe you are co-hosting the meeting and you and the other host can collaborate on the fly with who is presenting what or answering what questions.

Also, it is nice if you are training someone offsite or need work through a software issue they are having. By using GoToMeeting, you can gain access to their system and show them how to use or do certain tasks or view the error in real time and try to correct it before dispatching a tech to the site. Many times errors and install issues can be solved this way which saves the company time and money.

    Pros :

    • GoToMeeting is very flexible for us. It was not just a tool to keep in touch across many locations, but also, a tool that helped us train employees at one location remotely while training on site at the main location.
    • It also has been a valuable tool for when a key employee is out and needs to show someone how to or to run a time critical report or programme during their absence.

    Cons :

    • File saving for the team was an issue for us, until we began using some of the cloud programmes for this. Sometimes people talk about people and it is hard to keep up with who has a question without having everyone ask at once. andnbsp;

I have been using GoToMeeting for the past 15 months. GoToMeeting has been a great tool for me in the workplace. I work in advertising and frequently need to connect with my clients and fellow colleagues. This Citrix software allows me to do just that. Many times sending an email or having a phone conversation with a client or prospect is simply not enough. I love that I am able to meet with them and go over the material in real-time. For example, I have been able to share my desktop with my prospects and go over specific tasks and functions that would have been too confusing to explain without a visual real-time presentation.

I've gone over PowerPoint slides with these clients and have been able to build that personal connection because they are experiencing everything I am trying to convey rather than just hear my voice over the phone or become lost when shuffling through the PowerPoint slides alone. I have been able to win much more business thanks to the help of GoToMeeting.

One great feature of the software is the ability to utilize video conferencing as well. Many of my colleagues work remotely and thus do not have the ability to meet together in person very often. However, this software allows us to hook up webcams to have a video conference and be able to see each other anywhere we are around the world. We are able to connect with our Director to go over notes, successes, challenges, and seek assistance from the team in a way that was not previously available to us.

Although the software utilizes a secure online connection, I have experienced on a few occasions that an individual with a slower internet connection would appear pixelated and become difficult to see and hear. However, this does not affect everyone in the meeting and only the one individual.

I definitely recommend this software to anyone in the sales industry as well as customer service.

Pros : The ability to be able to meet with clients, prospects and fellow colleagues in real-time has given me a huge advantage in the workplace. I love being able to share my desktop and PowerPoint slides and better demonstrate certain things. Hooking up a webcam for video conferencing is very easy to use.

Cons : Really the only 'con' I would say is that on occasion the signal of connection was under performing, and people would appear pixelated and have a choppy voice. However, this is not the software's fault as the internet connection of the individual is most likely the culprit.

GoToMeeting tries really hard, but overall falls short of providing a go-to experience for users. They lack a satisfactory mobile application, and the cumbersome task of downloading a file for every single meeting or conference call destroys your patience very quickly. It seems to be pretty restrictive with a lot of users and organizations firewalls, leading to dropped attendance and aggravation as well.

    Pros :

    • GoToMeeting provides a great platform for audio and VOIP calls, and the screen share feature is easy to use and clear to follow.
    • The fact that those attendees who speak are presented clearly as they do is nice, but can also be a headache if multiple people talk over each other. That obviously is a matter of procedure and courtesy to your fellow attendees, but still can prove to be annoying.
    • The sharing feature also provides a great atmosphere to collaborate and pick the brains of multiple users across offices worldwide.
    • I also liked that the software integrated with my Salesforce and Pardot instances in our organization, and did so in a smooth way that did not interrupt normal activity within those applications.

    Cons :

    • As previously mentioned, the fact that you have to download an individual file for each meeting you attend and do not have a dedicated line for reoccurring meetings gets very old and cumbersome, and can turn off meeting attendees outside of your organization when you request a GoToMeeting with them.
    • Firewall restrictions can sometimes eliminate the ability for a user to connect and make an in-face meeting necessary, which depending on the situation can prove to be costly and time-consuming as opposed to a meeting online.
    • I also don't like the fact that you cannot message users privately with this software, and can only use the main chat feature.
    • You’ll also note that the cost of RingCentral can be huge with needing anything over 25 user licenses, and no real standard price packaging exists and makes you feel like it’s whatever the company thinks they can get from you.

GoToMeeting is a great tool for conducting meetings with clients and team members. It is easy to use, and the obvious advantage is to have meetings with other people who are in a variety of locations and scattered throughout the world. I like using GoToMeeting because it is simple and straightforward, and with a few clicks, I can engage with team members to share information and collaborate. With work changing and more and more people working from home, GoToMeeting is a good solution for sharing presentations and sharing screens with multiple team members. Whenever I have had to attend a meeting or presentation using GoToMeeting, I personally do not feel intimidated with the software, and have experienced everything to work out pretty well. Occasionally, something may go wrong, but 9 times out of 10, I have been really happy with my experience in using this program.

    Pros :

    • The pros of GoToMeeting includes its simplicity. People who are not tech savvy can use GoToMeeting easily.
    • Sometimes, using technology can be intimidating for some people, so a huge plus to GoToMeeting is that anyone can use it. I have personally used it for work and for volunteering.
    • For work purposes, the pro was that everyone in the organization, including those who work remotely, could view the presenter’s screen and collaborate together, and share ideas based on a presentation.
    • For volunteering, the leader of the group was able to rally the volunteers together who were in different locations to make sure everyone was on the same page.
    • Simplicity, ease of use, and solid way for group members to collaborate – all major pros.

    Cons :

    • The only con I can think of is that sometimes a new software download is required, making the easy process just a bit cumbersome.
    • This has lead me to check on the download required prior to my meeting. Usually, everything is just fine.

GoToMeeting is an amazing web conferencing interface which allows you to meet your clients and colleagues at any point in time, online. It is a very simple to use tool and works well on all devices like laptops, smartphones and desktop. This software addresses two major problems that have come up in the upcoming globalized world. One is that of participants to the meeting sitting in different geographical areas and second it makes it very easy for the employee to attend the meeting even post his/her office hours as per work requirement. Thus, decisions do not have to be pending because of people not present at the meeting. This tool makes the clients really happy as you can address their problems and concerns almost immediately.

    Pros :

    • The webcam of any and all participants to the meeting can be shared in high resolution, and this helps a person giving any presentation in the meeting clearer and attract attention.
    • It is not only a video conferencing tool but also allows its users to share documents and presentations with the participants of the meeting.
    • This is the best tool for long meetings and conferences as it does not get disconnected with network issues, rather it goes on standby and is active again once the internet connections are in place.
    • For organizations where all employees are remotely connected and need a lot of discussions, this tool is a blessing in disguise.
    • The GoToMeeting sales team also provides a free trial for the organization to make a better decision to their matching needs.

    Cons :

    • Although I am personally very fond of this tool, yet I find it very irritating when they have a software update.
    • GoToMeeting does not allow you to conduct any calls while the update is on and for such times one needs a back up to handle instant tasks.

    Marc Herschberger

GoToMeeting, like all of the other GoTo products, has a solid foundation in technology and user base to make anyone using it successfully. The user interface is easy to navigate (especially for anyone familiar with any of the other GoTo products), the tools are powerful, and the sharing instructions are relatively straightforward and "idiot-proof" when it comes to getting others on the line and sharing screens. With that said, a portion of the software application seems to be lagging behind some of the new trends in virtual meetings and screen share products coming out new. When it comes to pricing, software vs. cloud-based platforms and overall ease of use, GTM feels like it isn’t doing much to meet the needs of their evolving customer base looking for solutions that make their lives easier. There are now more options than ever for businesses looking to for virtual meeting and share screen applications, and while GoToMeeting is still a major contender due to its success in the market early on, it's losing ground to other, newer players like Uberconference.

    Pros :

    • GoToMeeting is relatively easy to use and consistent with other GoTo applications.
    • The tool integrates well with other applications and platforms like Google and Outlook, making it easy to connect meeting invitations to calendar invites.
    • The screen sharing and audio functions are simple and reliable.
    • Multi-platform for both Windows/PC and Apple, meaning that all users on both devices have the same (or relatively similar) experience and tools available.

    Cons :

    • GoToMeeting requires that you download the application to your computer that can be annoying, especially when working on a computer with limited space or controlled by an admin.
    • The interface isn't the most user-friendly, both on the presenter side and the attendee side when it comes to calling in.
    • Audio quality is not the best and can lead to dropped calls

GoToMeeting is one of the main tools for us. All team uses it every day, for demo, sales, support, marketing, etc. We sometimes use it as an audio bridge, since you get the Webcam, and you see who is talking. We evaluated and tested different competitors over the years and had always come to the end that there are no viable alternatives. The application is fairly easy. The functions are rather simple, nothing revolutionary with competitors. Last years, the audio bridge got pretty unstable with a lot of drops, but they seem to have fixed it, have not heard since. Sometimes, it becomes tough to navigate through the versions, particularly on Mac. Someone joins a session and gets a popup asking to upgrade, or downgrade. The recording is rather poor and does not save the Webcam. You get the invite email, click on the link, and join the meeting. No way to manage communication inside the client, always switching between Outlook and GoToMeeting while scheduling events. Since it is pretty popular, your plugin is already installed, and you get to the presentation. You can see everybody else's Webcam, and chat. There are many tools like Highlighter and pointers, you will like it over Excel or PowerPoint presentation. Switching around presenters is sometimes a little confusing, having to repeat, “You need to share your screen now” and “please give me my mouse back." All attendees see the shared screen, very helpful when having many people working on the same system, or outage.

    Pros :

    • Interface looks like the other GoTo*.
    • It’s popular, and Basic.
    • It is multi-platform.
    • You can have people on Tablets, PC, and Mac in the same conversation.

    Cons :

    • No killer feature, all look the same. We may want to share many screens to compare.
    • Sometimes the audio bridge drops the call. (A lot).
    • The Mac client is not the same as PC.
    • Confusion when switching presenters.
