  • Unfortunately emClient is broken when it comes to gmail multifactor authentication. The OAuth2 APIs which are used by many clients and services just doesn't work with emClient and the company, whilst acknowledging the problem and not fixing it, simply suggests turning off security to get round the issue! This is both irresponsible and shows appalling customer care for paid users. Tehy're more interested in adding a dark theme skin then making it work properly. Shame, it had great promise.

Pros : Was great when it worked

Cons : Lack of support for paying customers has forced me to move the company away from it

  • If you’re in the market for a new email client, you should really look at eM Client as an alternative. EM Client is an application it’s been receiving constant updates and is ever improving. And if you like the look and feel of Microsoft Outlook, but don’t want to pay the price for it, and if you use Google services a lot, eM Client is going to be a good option for you.

  • eM Client isn't perfect; I'm not in love with the overall appearance, which is just a tad busy, or the poorly divided avalanche of options in the Settings dialog. But once you have eM Client configured, you'll find its features addictive as well as inspiring.

I have been using eMClient for less than a year, but really like it. I was searching for a good desktop application to use my Google Drive account. Requirements were emailed with standard features (like reply, forward, etc.) that support the Google Mail Archive feature, as well as calendars, tasks and contacts, all in a single application (like I do with Outlook and Exchange). I can’t say that the client is perfect, but it’s working fine. It crashes on my virtual machine once a week for no reason, but I don’t have time to figure what is wrong. The integrated search is not similar to the Google one, meaning that from:me to:me won’t give you the email sent to yourself. However, the search works fine, just need to learn it a bit. The interface is pretty clean and uses only 75 MB on my computer for my pretty large mailbox. The UI is very responsive, and will work with the most popular hotkeys. There is no way to create rules, like moving emails based on criteria (Sender, Subject, Attachment…), you still need to log in google and navigate to the options to create the rules. The free version only allows one account, but the client is only 50$ (100$ for lifetime upgrades) which is kind of fair if it became your primary email client. The website says the pro is “more than 2” accounts, but the free license gives you only one, not sure why. I haven’t tried it, but GTalk is supposed to be integrated. There is no version for Mac, I will need to keep searching for a multi-platform alternative.

    Pros :

    • Clean interface, very similar to Outlook Integrate all Google Services (Mail, Calendar, Contact, Talk) from Gmail.

    Cons :

    • Crash once a week on my computer.
    • Not multi-platform, run only on Windows.
    • No way to create rules.

Great program. These are the things I don't like: 1) I get a lot of errors when synchronizing emails with gmail. 2) attachments take VERY long to download 3) no "resend" email feature 4) I download the software on several computers every few weeks, sometimes just for a few hours because the program is so good, however, having my personal settings is very annoying to always set - it should be on the cloud automatically when I download and log into my emclient.

A decent email client when it works. It has intermittent connectivity issues and emails sometimes don't display as it should compared to online email. Other than those issues, it has more customization compared to other email clients.

It's OK. It does some things I couldn't find other solutions for, like integrating exchange and google accounts in a single client. On the other hand, it has persistent niggles in supporting these that require too-frequent account resets -- not destructive, but a tad annoying. All in all, worth it, because I need the cross-account features, and the cost is very reasonable.

eM client supposed to be a very good email client for LiveMail, Hotmail, GMail, Yahoo Mail and Outlook or Cooperate etc. I use Outlook all the time and Outlook support all of these mail services and it works very well, I would say far better than eM Client. However, Gmail doesn't support GMail contact in Outlook and that was the only reason I paid high price for the eM client because eM client can sync my GMail Contact with the picture etc. After I used it for few days, and eM client does the job to sync my mail, contact and calendar for Live/Hot Mail, Gmail, Y! Mail etc. But, I see a very big series problem about the software that I would say it is "SHOW STOPPER" and the product should not ship with this bug/issue/concern at all. Please read the following for this BIG SHOW STOPPER for the software release. Since the 1st week of using eM Client after paying high price for the software, all the emails (LiveMail, Hotmail, Gmail, Y! Mail) I setup in eM client is getting a very ignoring error message below in every 5 to 10 minutes. "An error occurred" error message pops up for all email address I setup in eM Client. Here is some error message when "An error occurred" 1. "Deleting items in folder "username@email_domain.com/Trush failed with an error: "None" is an invalid XmlNodeType. Line 8, position 8. 2. [IMAP] An attempt to connect to username@email_domain.com failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings. Do you want to check the settings. 3. [AirSync] An attempt to connect to username@email_domain.com failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings. Do you want to check the settings? 4. Sending email failed with an error. The remote server returned an error (500) Internal Server Error. I have been asking eM client support for help since beginning of this year, but their support always replied and blamed on "temporary network connection related problem" or "mail service provider" problem, they don't even provide any solution at all. I have no idea how they pushed the problem to mail service provider and saying their service has a problem. But remember, all our mail service are either live/Hotmail which is Microsoft, Gmail which is Google, Y! Mail which is yahoo, and they are all big company, and they will not have the service all at the same time, right? I can't believe that their support pushed eM client issues to all these big companies at the same time, I don't feel they did even try to reproduce or work on the issue at all. For me, I am very regret (VERY DISAPPOITNMENT) that I purchased a license for eM client, it is ABSOLUTELY worth nothing, but just ignoring all the time from the software. Since I have no support, no help, no solution from eM client and I have no use, but just feeling bad and ignoring to this software, I ended up uninstalling the software from my computer and continue use my Outlook to manage all my email service now. And, use my phone to manage my Gmail contact. I will give at least 4 stars or even 5 stars if I don't have this experience or support from eM client software or support, but the software just doesn't work, USELESS now.

I replaced Outlook 2007 with eM Client. This product has met all of my expectations. I use it for multiple email accounts, Google calendar and contacts. It is much faster than Outlook for IMAP mail and is multi threaded so you do not wait while it syncs with Google or IMAP. It has significantly improved my productivity over waiting on Outlook.

I've tried Outlook, Postbox, Mailbird and Thunderbird, none of them suit my needs. eM Client is very useful, feature packed, good looking and never messed up my Gmail emails (Outlook for one who did mess my Gmail IMAP). Now I'm using eM Client for personal and business email accounts. No regret buying it!
