  • Deliver Fast Mortgage Docs by Docusign!

DocuSign Use Cases and Deployment ScopeDocuSign is used for various workflows by several departments. We mainly use DocuSign to receive and send electronic RESPA documents to our mortgage borrowers to make the process easier. We also use DocuSign in-house and send expense reports, authorization forms and employee applications. Using DocuSign makes it easier to track and see outstanding documentation that needs to be addressed.

Pros : DocuSign's legal team keeps up with the trends in the finance industry so we are in compliance.Enterprise support offers quick customer service for any troubleshooting issues. The website offers easily laid out how to guides at hand.

Cons : The only issue I had in past with DocuSign was matching templates but they resolved this issue for us recently.

DocuSign Use Cases and Deployment ScopeWe use DocuSign on a daily basis to sign 1-50 pages of documents.  It saves all parties in the cost of paper and toner and is way more efficient than having to mail documents through snail mail back and forth. It also keeps the quality of our documents clear and readable versus the old way of faxing back and forth, which often times would have been faxed four different times, leaving all documents barely readable.

Pros : Easy drag and drop.Find people and emails of people already in the system.Quick and easy upload.

Cons : Template matching for real estate documents is horrible. Can't be used. Boxes checked by consumer, print way out of area given for the mark.An autosave feature would be nice. On the rare occasion after having dragged and dropped signatures and dates, the system shuts you out. Leaving you to have to restart all over again. Can be very frustrating if you have 30-40 pages to get through.

DocuSign ProsI feel that DocuSign truly is "the fastest way to get a signature". You can send documents out for signature from your desktop computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone within seconds.DocuSign is a great tracking tool for companies. It is particularly helpful to my company because it alleviates the need to print and scan documents onto a drive somewhere. It tracks every move that's made from initiation of the document, to each signature placed onto the paperwork and all the way up to completion or rejection by the recipient(s).I have had a few questions regarding general use of the product since we purchased the program about a year ago. Reaching out to DocuSign's customer service team has proved to be a positive and effective experience. I found it very helpful that they will actually utilize a GoTo Meeting to assist you with any issue, even if it's something very simple that you are having trouble with.

  • Essential

We use Docusign for the circulation of documents that require signatures from our Board level staff. They frequently travel so Docusign has taken the pain away of chasing paper and in some cases incurring courier costs. The system is incredibly easy to use and works very well on mobile devices (we use a split of iOS and android). We are also planning an integration with our contract management system to allow an automated flow of documents from docusign into our contract management systems once signature has been completed.

Pros : Incredibly easy to use Works on mobile devices End users can understand the system and adopt it quickly Cut costs on paper and courier fees

  • DocuSign has a great deal of potential for those that need several documents signed per month. However, the limitations for a paid subscription may not be worth the investment. As you are only able to have five documents sent per month, many alternatives offer free solutions that don't have such restrictions. The interface is clean and professional and some of the features have a great deal of potential to keep your organization looking professional as well.

  • Strong Product with a Lot of Work Needed

    What do you like best?

DocuSign is easy to use and has a simple UI. It's easy to get up and running as an individual user. This is perfect for real estate agents and other small business users.

It also integrates easily with Salesforce and other systems. I deployed an e-signature solution for a large medical device retailer, and it was fairly painless.

    What do you dislike?

Its search functionality is terrible. I mean really bad. I cannot search by envelope ID, which is the fundamental identification number of a DocuSign transaction. I cannot search for documents by the data contained inside of them.

Template management and construction is a bit limited. Your document is basically a background image upon which you float fields. This makes aligning fields with background text difficult and unreliable.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Really study your intended user. Strange as it may seem, not all users like to e-sign.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

We wanted to allow physicians to prescribe therapy for our products electronically, as well as obtain follow-up insurance documentation for claims. The e-prescription feature has been a disappointment, as doctors still really really like to fax things. The insurance follow-up has been a resounding success, where we went from 50 percent success rate obtaining signed follow up documents, to almost 90 percent success rate.

Great for most orgs - but wish it had more flexibility out of the box!

    What do you like best?

DocuSign as a whole is awesome, especially if your company uses Salesforce. It has all the tools you'd expect out of the box. An org I worked with wanted to use it to send quotes from Salesforce, and DocuSign let us do this is a simple way. Another bonus of DocuSign is the UI in Salesforce is very modern, especially compared to other popular e-signature products on the platform.

    What do you dislike?

Flexibility: DocuSign does the very standard use cases very well but once you get outside of that you're going to run into issues. For example, there's no way to choose a default document or contact to associate with a DocuSign envelope you're sending - users have to manually choose them.

Marketing: everything you do will be branded by DocuSign and it's a lot of work to remove it. Some things can't even be changed, for example, if you don't want your emails to say "Sent from DocuSign". I know other vendors are able to completely remove branding from your envelopes.

Admin capabilities: from an admin perspective, managing DocuSign can be painful. There's no automatic user integration so every new user needs to be set up from scratch!

Recommendations to others considering the product

Make sure to have your technical team review the product as well! There is an API to do a lot of things but out of the box it is limited

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

We wanted to use DocuSign to simply send quotes to customers. It wasn't easy setting it up (for many of the above customization reasons), but, finally it was possible.

The good news is the UI is beautiful!

    Docusign Review

    What do you like best?

Getting signatures for the many forms can be time consuming. Wasting time is not profitable or productive. Docusign puts all of this into one simple task that does not require a paper trail. I can simply use my phone to acquire all of the various signatures that I need. The paperwork that I must deal with involves hunting down up to 10 different employees who could be anywhere and have them sign off. The whole process can take a week depending on the circumstances. This holds up the process considerably. Docusign can take care of the whole process in no time.

    What do you dislike?

Some documents cannot be digitized and this, I feel, is a waste of paper and time. It is about time that the world goes paperless.

Recommendations to others considering the product

There are just so many ways that Docusign can be helpful. Acquiring signatures from individuals in another city, state or even country is no problem. Loosing paperwork could be a problem of the past. Docusign can be used to hold people accountable for documents that they might not be excited to sign.

What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized?

I work in education. The goal is to create more productive workers. Why should acquiring signatures hold back that process? This app has allowed me to focus more on creating lessons and programs rather than wasting time on paperwork that is vital but time-consuming. Docusign is essential to a modern economy!

  • DocuSign Ink is safe and secure so don't worry about signatures getting stolen or copied. It's packed with many great features, the interface is intuitive and the recent update added even more great content to the app.

  • Anyone in any business who requires documents be signed will appreciate an electronic signing application. Potential users should look at DocuSign to see if it is the right one for them. At the time of this review, the pricing is higher than its main competitors and payment of one year in advance is required. This may weigh heavily in the decision to use the product.

  • DocuSign Pro moves the process of getting important documents signed completely online. Its tagging system shows the recipient what to do, and it offers a full court-accepted audit trail of the process. It's a great choice for electronic signing of documents.

  • For those that want to be able to customize the signing experience for a business contact, DocuSign would most likely be the logical choice.

  • There are other services with similar offerings, most notably Adobe EchoSign. However, the very minor issues mentioned aside, the end-to-end process of transforming a regular ol’ office document into an e-signature goody bag is the bread-and-butter for Docusign. If your department or business needs to collect signatures on a regular basis, you will find the price to pay for itself from the first document you send out.
