  • Qlik Sense Enterprise Server is a self-service business intelligence (BI) tool that delivers the best collection of user access roles among the BI tools we tested, and also demonstrates a promising start towards integrating Data-as-a-Service (DaaS).

  • QlikView Use Cases and Deployment ScopeQlikView is being used in the sales department in our organization. It solves the problems with respect to business sales.

Pros : QlikView allows rapid in-memory assembly of data (qvd's) from various sources such a database, flat files etc to produce nifty, integrated reports, it appeals a lot to the business users who get a fairly quick answer to their questions.Very easy to use and user friendly from a business user perspective as data can be shown in charts and diagrams which is helpful for high level executives.Easy to install and setup from an administrator's point of view.

Cons : It requires lot of memory in servers for it to perform efficiently since it pre-loads data. From a developer's perspective it's very complex to set up the loads and scripts in the qvd's and subsequently to the qvw.The support for QlikView is not topnotch.Very hard to monitor all the loads from an admin point of view as if one load fails the qvw dashboard doesn't get the data in.

  • Qlik's in-memory processor vastly speeds up the application and allows it to refresh in real-time, providing insights as data is added

    • The Good: Google-like search protocol for finding data, ability to combine data sources, no need to rely on IT.
    • The Bad: Self-service difficulty for non-tech users, some filtering issues at the end user and developer levels, problems with debugging.

Qlik is a very professional company, specializing in Business Intelligence, and is becoming a leading company in the market. The primary Qlik products are Qlik and Qlik Sense. Both are great products, very specific, and both have as first objective: to provide the software to create excellent business intelligence tools, Data Discovery and a complete analysis of the data.

    Pros :

    • Qlik is a client-server application that allows you to create and make available company reports and dashboards. easily find non-obvious trends and make discoveries that help to make decisions quickly and of great importance.
    • This is a software that exploits the sharing of ideas and collaboration with various colleagues in real time.
    • It allows you to easily perform data search and find correlations and data connections even if unexpected.
    • Another plus point is the ability to make self-service business intelligence, this avoids the loss of time, a lot of lightening the load side of IT work and side analysts.
    • Qlik Sense Desktop instead (as the name implies) a software intended for desktop use (client side) is a free product (within the 25mb) which allows you to create reports but especially interactive dashboards.
    • Its strong point is definitely the fact that you have graphics and truly eye-catching charts (much of Qlik).
    • Navigability of the dashboard is frighteningly fast, uses technology in memory then it allows you to easily analyze large amounts of data.
    • The software allows you to connect to any data source and then independently manage the correlations within each app.
    • Each app can have multiple worksheets that result in various dashboards.
    • The interesting thing is that the dashboards are all interactive, so if we have for example a pie chart format of two slices (males and females), by simply clicking on the share of males, all sheets (dashboards) app will be filtered for class males.

    Cons :

    • Pay close attention to import data wisely, you have to try to understand which keys to use various data sources.
    • Qlik defines a series of synthetic key which then bind to its convenience between the various data sources, though not all data sources have the same keys available, some data can not be filtered for those keys.
    • The grid dashboard designer side is too large, this is quite inconvenient if you want to give an adequate spacing or customized to various objects.
    • The graphics are editable little in terms of colors, spacing, etc. legend.
    • The fonts are not customizable.
