Ahrefs is the most accurate, but not the most comprehensive, backlink analysis tool that I’ve ever used. What I mean by that is that any link it tells you is there is most likely there, as stated. However, it often does not find all of the links that are out there. It is continuously getting better at finding more and more links, but if you need a comprehensive list, you may want to combine the list from Ahrefs with other tools, like MajesticSEO and Open Site Explorer. You may even want to run the resulting list through SEO PowerSuite’s SEO SpyGlass to get the live information about those links. But, if you are looking for an overview of a link profile, Ahrefs will do that for you without a bunch of additional processing. You will get an accurate list of the most prominent links for the site, even if you don’t get a completely comprehensive list. But, the more comprehensive tools tend to have more inaccuracies in them, particularly links that are no longer there. One great feature that Ahrefs has that the other tools haven’t seemed to incorporate yet is the ability to filter out links that are in your disavow file in Google Search Console. You’ll have to download your list from Google Search Console and manually upload it into Ahrefs, but then it will ignore links that have been disavowed, giving you a much more accurate look at your list of links without having to export links and manually process them. It is a great feature.
- Has a very accurate list of backlinks for analysis - Runs quickly - Supports Disavow files - Can check on competitors easily
- Doesn’t have the most comprehensive list of backlinks for analysis - The uploaded Disavow file applies to all reports, not just the site you upload it for - The tool is one of the more expensive backlink tools

Now that the basics are out of the way I have to say that I absolutely love the Ahrefs tool. It’s fast and the graphical representations are very easy to understand (even for a novice I imagine.) In this suite you’ll find a Site Explorer, Keywords Analysis, Backlinks Report, Domain Comparison, Batch Analysis, and Competition Analysis tools.More about Ahrefs

Analytics SEO is the best next generation SEO tool I’ve seen to date. While comparisons with Raven are to be expected the more you work with it (and I’ve only had limited time to play with its features) the more you realize it’s a very different beast. I can definitely see this tool becoming many SEO agencies weapon of choice for campaign management and reporting, but I do feel it needs an expert operator to get the most out of it and the link management tool for me leaves something to be desired if we’re going to class this as an ‘all-in-one’ tool.More about Analytics SEO
