SaaS makes its presence felt

A recent report published by Sidetrade indicates that Software as a Service is really taking off with SaaS revenues rising by 23%. It is noteworthy that all of this was from the subscription model that is proving to be extremely popular with both large and small companies.

SaaS has helped small and medium businesses embrace advanced cloud computing in a way that would not have been possible had it not been for a subscription based pay as you go model. These companies are able to match large Fortune 500 companies in terms of capability.

Highly complex software such as ERP solutions are also available in the SaaS model which means that a company that would never have been able to afford an ERP for many more years is now able to reap the benefits from day one.

While there are no published details available, any company that implements an ERP or a business intelligence solution from its very inception is bound to grow in a very different way as compared to a company that goes through an ad-hoc process of growth.

A 23% increase of revenue is moderate improvement for such a rapidly expanding market. It definitely helps small businesses make the jump from “Small time” to large enterprise without the massive requirements of infrastructure and patchwork systems.

You are right about this and it will be worth watching if the rate of growth is maintained. So far it seems to be holding its own.
